- Manchester United won the Champions League in 1999 in the treble winning season. Man Utd had so legendary players like Beckham, Roy Keane, Stam, Giggs and many more. Since it was really hard to find footage for these games the quality may not always be the best, but I think it is acceptable enough for games from 1998 and 1999. Let me know what you think about the video in the comments. Ferguson is a legend.

The Yorke and Cole goal against Barcelona away is one of my favourite goals of all time. The passing is unreal.

One of the best partnerships there's ever been in football, they were telepathic.
That team really was phenomenal. By my count they played against six opponents who were at one point the best player in the world (Figo; Ronaldo; Baggio; Zidane; Rivaldo; Matthaus) and so many other megastars (Davids; Nedved; Xavi; Effenberg; Khan; Zanetti; Simeone; Enrique; Elber; Inzaghi; Deschamps; Peruzzi).
They won the FA Cup beating Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle (that's Shearer; Owen; Fowler; Anelka; Adams; Bergkamp; Zola; Desailly; McManaman; Overmars; Vieira; Petit). Across both competitions they were behind seven times and didn't lose one of them,, winning twice in the 90 when behind in stoppage time.
Arsenal had a phenomenal team. They were beaten by United with 10 men, and then in the league too. I don't think there's ever been a side more stubborn and absolutely determined to never lose. They even managed it with Schmeichel in goal having a shocker of a season.
United was relatively a nobody at the time.. From the moment they we told that they cannot win the league with kids, till they beat the legends of football in the 90s and became legends themselves.. Amazing..

Nobody mentions the fact that David Beckham was awarded the overall Champions League player of the year and the best midfielder of the the Champions League for this season. This was is an era where most European clubs were stacked with legends at the same time.
Yet a bitch ass Rivaldo won the world player of the year was a robbery to this day... Beckham clearly deserved it after a torrid world cup...

I’m an Arsenal fan but this team was brilliant, I mean from Peter up to Andy they were absolutely brilliant. Yes I hated it at the time but looking back and watching this they were fantastic. How good was Beckham? A memory all us football fans who remember this will cherish as English fans

Back when football was football. The way United crossed the ball (Beckham mostly) was sheer class. Four proper forwards as well in Cole, Yorke, Sheringham, and Ole!

The final was great, but that semi final second leg against Juve was the stuff of legends.
David Beckham finished 2nd in the 1999 Ballon D’or only behind Rivaldo who of course was incredible. Beckham is heavily underrated, this video encapsulates his class.

There champions league whole campaign was probably the toughest to pick up that trophy even the group stages was hard BARCELONA BAYEN then to play inter Milan who had Ronaldo R9 and Baggio in there team. The came juventus who had wc winner Zidane Davids del piero. That year actually appreciated Uniteds football and toughness beckham should of won the balon dor that year not sure who did

This run of games and the quality of goals is just unbelievable
This team was loaded to the teeth! Beckham playing as midfielder just behind York and Cole; Scholes and Keane not available... this was self belief at its best! I remember Ferguson saying that he told the players at Half Time that if they continued to get overrun by Bayern Munich they won't go home with the Trophy. With a slice of luck, shear determination and self belief they hanged in there. Losing there very important Captain (Roy Keane) to suspension was a big blow yet Ferguson set up the team that kept in there and fought on. What about the substitutions Ferguson made as end of normal regulation time was approaching? Bringing out his first choice twin strikers York and Cole for Sheringham and Solskjaer was nothing short of inspiring! United were loaded with ridiculously talented strikers back then! It's not that York and Cole were not making efforts, Ferguson just decided to make two tactical changes and boy did it work! The two substitutes scored crucial goals to justify Ferguson's decision. I watched the game on TV then and it has endeared me to Manchester United! I love the never say die mentality Ferguson instilled into his squads when he was Manager. I miss those days and wish electric nights like that Champions League Final in Barcelona can continue to be witnessed by the Club again! Maximum respect to all Manchester United fans worldwide 🙌😀😀😀

It was a great tournament. I'm a fan of Dynamo Kyiv and then we stoped one step before final with Manchester United. We also had a great team that year :Shevchenko, Rebrov, Luzhny.... and our great coach is Valery Lobanovsky. I was bitterly disappointed when we left the tournament becouse I consider that we could win the cup but in that final i supported Manchester United. They deserved that success and looked very attractive. I congradulations all English fans i think they all supported Manchester United that night.

Schmeichel was such a fantastic keeper both 1 on 1 and on the line, that handball style of play is just so memorable

1999 was a great year for Manchester United after bad season in 1997/1998 effect of Cantona retirement and Arsenal uprising. I"m lucky have opportunity meet personally with some United squad from that era.

Compared to now, such as Rashford in which he forgot that his team got a striker who was waiting for the ball to pass. I still remembered what they did to C. Ronaldo, especially M. Greenwood. Greatest team of all time. In other great teams, it's normally between 1 and 3 players standing out and delivering the success. You can't do that with this team. The whole team was incredible.

I remember being packed in a bar called Kehoes in Failsworth with 4 mates and about 250 united fans watching the final on a big screen projector. When we equalised everyone was jumping about so much most of them missed the winner. I remember shouting at one of my mates that we just scored a second goal and were winning as he was still busy shouting about teddy's goal with his back to the screen. It was an amazing night 😆
