Batman See her in the "Motherlover" SNL skit for a comedic role. She was also in a lousy made-for-TV remake of Carrie. That crazy mom is actually similar to Adora.
Amy Adams owned the show. She deserves that Emmy next year. Not sure what Nicole's role will be like on the second series of Big Little Lies, but Amy's performance will be bloody hard to beat.
Ernesto they are not going to compete in the same category, bll moves to drama series now and yes amy was mindblowing! I doubt any other performances can beat hers for the rest of the year.
Totally agree but her great acting was also due to the writing, directing and cast around her. Everything about this show was amazing but definitely a collaborative effort.
18:15 "Our truth is identifyable" (!!!) 27:50 About Jackies character 28:40 history between Adora and Jackie 36:30 Amy on Camille being strangely in love with Amma in a way. In an intimate way but not a sexual way 38:30 How soft her voice becomes when she talks about showing scarred skin 50:50 Gillian and the other producer meeting and seeing "oh you're twisted inside too"
Such a great series! And I don't know why but there's something about seeing all the amazing women onstage, from the actresses to the showrunner and writer, that makes me really happy.
Jean the director, awed me w big little lies and now he does it again. The writer is just so in touch w all the very hurting, too hurting but real, real life issues and suffering.
Jean-Marc is the man, i suggest to you his movie C.R.A.Z.Y. which is a gem that he wrote. If you dont mind the french language, you will love this movie !!
I loved Big Little Lies and I didn't know it was the same director! I got the same vibe from both series so I shouldn't be surprised, both series were so addicting and I loved the casting and the acting
grafton07 would big little lies be a good one to watch after sharp objects ? I literally just finished sharp objects and am SHOOK it’s already over. Craving more ugh.
If you haven’t already, I suggest reading the book too. I watched Sharp Objects & at the end was jonesing for more as well. The book is good, it’s a quick easy read (that you can read online for free) and is interesting to compare to the series. Each format chooses different things to go into less or more detail about, which was interesting. Also, the book does explain the ending a bit more in-depth if the high-speed credit sequence left you wanting more.
Gotta love Amy constantly tugging her jacket closed. She's not wearing a blouse, mind you! On the one hand, she dressed so as to give off a special kind of playfully DARING sexuality. On the other hand...she's still a lady, with her dignity. We love you, princess!
HEY anyone see Patricia Clarkson in this little under rated film call ed the girl next door OMG Be warn Patricia character in the girl next door makes Adora look like mom from leave it to beaver
Yess! And that was (somewhat loosely) based on a true story. Check out the Silvia Likens case, if ever you’re in the mood to be truly horrified/disturbed.
Oo 31:30 in the prison Jackie (Elizabeth Perkins) at the end? o Noooo she is the serial killer of the girls.. o Nooooooo. Patricia Clarkson just revel the all thing... Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Blame Patricia Clarkson, she was who give the spoiler. Now I'm thinking that sure is a twisted plan between (Camille's mother), Adora Crellin (who is fucked up too) and Jackie to kill girls in her mind already sick on revange for losing her youngest daughter. That's why the mother is so reluctant to have her daughter Camille interview everyone in the town. Normally, this is how the mind of twisted criminals works, with some antecedent of their past. I hate myself for always realizing these things
This is not a spoiler... I've read this book... It's fucking amazing... I'm gonna watch this show once it ends because I can't wait for six days to watch new episodes...
Wish this was a series 2... I would really like to see Amy Adams Gillian Flynn create some type of TV series which not only in empowers the family scapegoat child Amy Adams played ... empowering Camille... but also shows and enables the surrounding men , apathetic enablers , drunk friend Elizabeth Perkins could be the “star” role and teach bystanders in community , educating friends and extended family members , how to RECOGNISE PATTERNS OF FAMILY SCAPEGOATING and the dangers of favouring a golden child sibling really creating a future SOCIOPATHS (DONALD TRUMP, HARVEY WEINSTEIN)... ELIZABTH PERKINS COULD SHOW IN SERIES 2 to really be stand-up confidently and really stand up to that narcissistic EVIL 🦹♀️ abusive mother ADORA character! As the sadistic sociopath does too much damage . because really society enables this type of dangerous damage every day everywhere!!! Is hidden pattern everywhere... happens a lot more than people are aware. 🙌🙏please create a tv series that empowering the family scapegoat character and also empowering the the surrounding witnesses to step up and stop Adora Abusing her??
why do women always have to talk about how there are great women in the show and how great it is to see women together? Guess what, in a meritocracy, the best people (should) be successful, regardless of gender. Stop acting like it's a feminist issue. It was a fantastic show based on a fantastic book. Just enjoy that
The real world is not a perfect meritocracy and neither is the tv/film industry. And I think you know that, hence why you put should in parentheses. Also, if the author had chosen to write about men, no amount of merit would have helped these actresses get cast. The triumph of women here is a female author getting her book about women published (she's spoken about the resistance she faced with this book) and then having that successfully adapted for tv and finding an engaging audience. All of which allows women with talent to flourish, be recognized, and proceed with less barriers in the future. i.e. working towards that meritocracy you admire so much.
The fact that Eliza Scanlen did not get a Golden Globe nomination is such a shame she was amazing
I cannot imagine any other actress who could play Amma. Eliza was brilliant.
Completely agree
@Maxton Uriel what this is so random who cares
A little trippy seeing Patricia so sweet and excited after four weeks of seeing her as Adora
She's just an actress, champ
Malvavisco of course, but my only exposure to her up till that point had been as Adora
Batman See her in the "Motherlover" SNL skit for a comedic role. She was also in a lousy made-for-TV remake of Carrie. That crazy mom is actually similar to Adora.
One of my favorite recent actresses her and Amy.
amy's voice is so soft and gentle ohhh my lord
It's the golden voice of the quintessential Disney Princess.
Amy Adams owned the show. She deserves that Emmy next year. Not sure what Nicole's role will be like on the second series of Big Little Lies, but Amy's performance will be bloody hard to beat.
She was bloody amazing! Even the simplest things such as an expression said so much. She's so talented
Ernesto they are not going to compete in the same category, bll moves to drama series now and yes amy was mindblowing! I doubt any other performances can beat hers for the rest of the year.
Hollywood blacklisted family scapegoating stories from Awards
Totally agree but her great acting was also due to the writing, directing and cast around her. Everything about this show was amazing but definitely a collaborative effort.
I Adora all of them🔪🔪🔪🔪
18:15 "Our truth is identifyable" (!!!)

Everyone's talking about Amy, but let's just agree: Patricia was f*cking amazing as Adora
Agreed. Patricia played the matriarch with perfection. All the details...like the look at Camille during the dinner in last episode...Chills
Such a great series! And I don't know why but there's something about seeing all the amazing women onstage, from the actresses to the showrunner and writer, that makes me really happy.
Amy was so beautiful in this series. She blew me away, her performance, her power. A clearly lovely human being
"i have low self esteem" says Amy Adams, the most beautiful woman alive
Yeah, it's so insane how so many of the most beautiful women refuse to accept that they are. AUDREY HEPBURN once noted she felt she had no figure!
Why does self-esteem always have to do with outer appearance? That isn’t all life is to some people.
Outstanding series!!!!
Wow I love Amy Adams. She's so truthful and just such a nice human.
OMG I had to stop here:
"I think that when we show our truth, that's identifiable, because each of us inside is screaming to be seen."
this woman
Don’t tell mama
Joao Paulo De Matos Santos Kiss one anotha
Die for each otha
We’re cool for the summa
Fanoli AHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA Lovato’s shit 🔥🤘🏽
I am still freaking out about the end.
Shut up, Jodes
you and me too. i'm wondering if Amma, the sister, has killed her young black friend.
The entire cast was outstanding brilliant actors directors script
37:25 Thought she was gonna rip her lashes out OMG
Everyone involved KILLED IT. Really well done and perfect in every way.
Best cast ever the series was absolutely flawless
Patricia is so beautiful.
And her dress is hand painted on silk from Paris! lol
@@freddiegrace3770 🤣calhoun Day scene with detective willis
@@virgildimitrion7658 Yep!! lol
Amy was truly amazing in "Sharp objects". I loved Camille and Amma's complex relationship, it was so interesting to watch.
It’s sort of weird coming to this interview after watching the show because I still see everyone as their characters
Also, I need Patricia's ASMR, her voice is so soft!
The show was amazing!!! The best of this year!!! See this masterpiece!!
45:57 : « Watch this beautiful young lady, she’s a rockstar. She’s incredible. ». 🙏💓

Thanks?
Saved time. Thanks!
Whoa, why didn't they edit all that out?
They love Eliza so much
moderator did a great job. good research and rapport with the panel and made sure everyone got at least one question
Brilliant interview! I love that everyone got to talk about their character
this show was something else, I miss it.
If you liked Sharp Objects, try The Killing with Mireille Enos as lead and Joel Kinnaman 😉
An extraordinary série. Merci Jean-Marc pour la beauté de ton travail!
26:27 lmao did Amy just show her middle finger because they didn't let her talk? haha
19:26 this woman is amazing really love her

Péter Nagy OMGGGGGG
Laura linney you mean
How I miss this show so much
Amy has to be the perfect woman, right? Very intelligent, beautiful, a fantastic actress. What's not to like???
Sweet and strong, tender and tough, cute and cool, sexy and smart. Innocence and Integrity. Perfect.
Amy Is lit
Wonderful interview
RIP talented Jean-Marc Vallée!
38:30 How soft her voice becomes when she talks about showing scarred skin
Loved Patricia Clarkson in Six Feet Under 😙 and Marti Noxon from her contributions to Buffy The Vampire Slayer 😙

I read the book first without knowing that the series existed. After watching the series I can say still the book is better :D
I winced and cringed during the drug use scenes. You get the fine details in the book.
Jean Marc Valle Hurrah for such a gem!
I want Chris Messins Shirt. It looks good af! where to buy it? :D
The actress who played amma stole the show
The closing song on the previous show 7/4/18 was great. I hate todays music so much until I hate it. But that was a good one.
20:58 DANG, Amy! Do that voice some more, some time?
i wish to have seen Patricia as Blanche, oh man
I love Gillian’s hair
Too bad no 2nd season. I just got it from the library here in Sydhaven in Copenhagen Denmark. Expat US jazz pianist.
Started watching this yesterday, I have two more to go. I love this.
39:59 You ARE hot as hell, princess.... 😎
She is such an amazing woman....
no one:
The interviewer: hα hα hα hα
Jackie, the enabler and secret keeper could be empowering in second series if she stopped fearing ADORA!!!
25:30
It starts at 11:30
Kristi could you please credit the interviewer she does a great job. Thanks
I dont understand why they would do a panel like this before the show was even done airing?

Amy Lynn ok I will

Watch C.R.A.Z.Y. (2005) by Director Jean-Marc Vallée. It's BRILLIANT! Quebecois film.
