That Schumacher vs Verstappen situation. Basically Max gave little Schumi the big Schumi treatment. That was exacly how Michael used to race against his rivals
OMG I almost choked when you put Geunther on blast for not being early. 🤣 He’s checking out not sure why this was so funny to me but I appreciate the laugh on this holiday morning
Yeah it was the race engineers and pit crew who put them in that situation. Carlos really didn't have much of a choice but to pass Charles after the 2nd stop.
Yuki tried the redbull on the sim and says it suits his driving style. Really liked the characteristics of the car. Wouldn't that be something, if he drives in the neighbourhood of what verstappen did during the race weekend, in the post season test. ... Hope they give him a good car for the test.
It's a little bit bulliks talking about how you need 7 WDCs to be on the same level as other drivers. Max is the only driver who won in not the best car a WDC 2 times. He has the most records in F1 and that at his age is just crazy. but comparing drivers from different times is clueless I think you can compare Lewis and Max, because they raced each other in almost equal race cars and Max was the better one, so easy answer how is the better driver.
Imagine starting life from humble beginnings and manage to break into the rarefied world of racing-where money and nepotism often dictate success-working your way up from the bottom as an engineer to become one of the F1 team principals, only to be gaslighted about lacking ambition from two guys who probably think a Dremel is a cocktail garnish. Love the pod and the jokes, but give Guenther his well earned respect.
@@Carlos-ln8fd I agree Kmag over Daniel, he is more consistent. However I don't think a rookie brings anything to a new team. They need to focus on car development first. I'd take even Perez over a rookie.
28:10 when I went back and watched it Marko was just reacting to the reporter’s question. Christian’s answer makes the most sense. If they did forget it, they literally could have sent Max’s or anyone’s plain to go get it if it was “forgotten”.
I don't necessarily agree with Gunther about winnig in different team elevates the achievement. Because let's say, you want with your team? But a year later, you sense that they're losing direction and the car is not good. So you move to a team who is good and you win the title. Does that make your achievement better? It's like Kevin Durant going to the Warriors to win an NBA championship, it will always be worth less.
To be honest red bull doesn't need a perfect driver they just need someone who can help max for championship and score points for team championship someone that works for max who follows team orders that's it max will take care of everything.....checo might have a good sponsor for the team, but not scoring and not helping the team is the. Main problem....so red bull doesn't need a driver like carlos they just need someone like valteri......not someone young hungry for the win
Max still would lead the WDC if you count from the moment that McLaren was faster, which is Spain. It would definitely be closer, but Max makes lmost no mistakes and maximizes results. He had a lot of top 3 finishes with the 3th fastest car…
no one has the duty to help their teammate's P2 WDC. All drivers, even Charles, say 1st place is the only thing that matters. So why would you sacrifice your podium just to give your teammate a 'chance' to get a possible P2 WDC? WCC is the only requirement as a team driver it's both drivers' points that contribute, therefore for the team it doesn't matter which driver goes on the podium. If P1 WDC is a high possibility, then ofcourse you're expected to help out even if you don't want to. Only the WCC brings employee bonuses to the team, so WDC is just an honour for the drivers and some moral boost for the team. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, lot of merch sale boost to add. So even though I understand the reason why Charles is upset, and we don't know what that pre-race discussion agreements were, there was Ferrari screwup before the overtake and the whole miscommunication from the pitwall that kind of cancels out the 'situation scenario' to apply prediscussions.
Obviously he can still perform is the car is good, they had by far the best one, be that natural, by accident/coincident or just a ver of old DAS system as suggested by many analyzing online, looking at George we know the car was fast, George could even stop pushing max and allow Ham to get closer in the end, it's the same car and both drivers, yes it was superior that day. Not surprised at all about Ham performance, it's not like he just threw the towel in and lost it all.
31:00 the first title was offered to him, he didn't win it in a different regulation set. His legacy is tinted because and he will need a 5th to equal Vettel. Also how many penalties he didn't get the other seasons? He only got 2x10sec when Norris didn't avoid the contact but several times he should have taken one this season. He's been driving with his own set of rules all along...
' His legacy is tinted because and he will need a 5th to equal Vettel.' you forgot to add 'to me'. because his legacy is tinted *to you*. 'his first title was offered' - was it? or did he get lucky at the right time? he still had to make the move on the last lap of a year-long battle and not fuck up until the finish line. either drivers are responsible for how they succeed and bottle crucial moments or they are not. you could also say that Lewis was offered the title when Max's tyres blew up in Baku - an equipment failure that was not his fault, lost him 24 points and which Pirelli took no responsibility for - and Lewis gave it away by making a costly mistake.
Suing your way into F1 is a terrible precedent. I don't mind Cadillac or anyone else joining F1 but suing your way into the pinnacle of motorsport? IMO that's a big NO-NO. So what if they don't perform? They just make up numbers to the disadvantage of all other teams. And whether they manage to make up for the loss the traditional teams suffer remains to be seen. I'm not happy about the way they want to join at all. And at the time of writing this comment, it's not yet set in stone.
Imagine expecting your teammate to slow down and asking for team orders so you could get P2 in WDC. I REPEAT FOR P2 IN WDC😂 This is just hilarious and embarrassing. Did they also screw up the pit stop on purpose for that? That's why ferrari can't be taken seriously. If P2 in WDC is a priority over WCC for the team they don't deserve any titles.
You seem to love and obey order followers like a mindless slave and propagate following orders. Order followers NEVER truly win. I guess you love Ferrari so much you wish to project this order following energy onto them ensuring they will all be losers.
team order was "not put under pressure." It was Charles' engineer who screwed up communication and corrected himself in the latter radio saying Carlos was told not to put under pressure, NOT not to overtake
also who the hell would stay behind their teammate with cold tyres for two whole laps just because of team orders and lose their race time even further after that whole pitstop disaster. Carlos outqualified Charles in the first place and it was Ferrari who screwed up the pitstop, which created the whole underrcut situation
That Schumacher vs Verstappen situation. Basically Max gave little Schumi the big Schumi treatment. That was exacly how Michael used to race against his rivals
It was at the Hungaroring after Bottas went bowling. Max wasn't a word champion yet but fighting to keep his chances alive.
@@henkormel5610 it was Silverstone 2022
@jaja8022
You're right about that. Mick in 2021 was still a Ferrari reserve driver and back then destined to go to Alfa Romeo.
OMG I almost choked when you put Geunther on blast for not being early. 🤣 He’s checking out not sure why this was so funny to me but I appreciate the laugh on this holiday morning
if Carlos was boxed earlier as asked, at least Ferrari could have avoided the whole drama of overtakes and not-ready-pitstop
Yeah it was the race engineers and pit crew who put them in that situation. Carlos really didn't have much of a choice but to pass Charles after the 2nd stop.
Dropped everything for these vankahs
“They’re always randomly fast” 😂😂😂
37:23 “it’s not an excuse, it’s a reason” perfect Gunther.
25:49 Guenther is an international treasure... just the best
this is always so interesting and rich of infos! thanks guys!
"When in you're in the shit...Dremel!" - Guenther Steiner😂
I must say, as a proud Kentuckian, I had a double fan girl moment seeing Guenther in a Buffalo Trace shirt.
He's becoming more and more of an American the longer he live in the South.
He's having fun being on his podcast then being a F1 team principal.😊
Many thanks Vankers!
Its apparently an early thanksgiving for alot of us. Here too early needed this to get me through the morning cooking. Happy Thanksgiving Vankas

Spot on. Just shows how incredible Verstappen is. Won the championship in the 2nd fastest car inn 2021 and 3rd fastest car in 2024.

My favourite vankahs!!!!
Oh Yeah Baby !!
The race where Max and Mick went at it was Silverstone. Max ran over some debris, from the Alpha Tauris colliding and picked up floor damage IIRC

The hilariously awkward segue out of that Mazepin reference.

Three rockstars are back.

I think doing it with one team is more impressive than being a title chaser.
