Or Namdar, which owns the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing PA. That mall is being run into the ground with some portions too dangerous to use due to roof leaks. Currently most of its parking lot is cordoned off due to sinkholes and sewer issues. Not by choice, but rather the local municipality forced them to. Basically, lack of maintenance with intent to develop. Time will tell whether that happens with Monroeville Mall too. Not many companies buying malls these days to run them as malls indefinitely.
What would be great if malls like these are bought by a developer. They could be made into apartments, put in gym, dog park, coffee shop, few restraunts, playground. This would bring back the dead malls in the country.
It's awful... I miss the skating rink, the Kaufmann's, Gimbels, Horne's,. But then, again, there's the Pittsburgh Mills....what a shame. Don't blame online shopping. For example: how do you buy footwear without trying them on? Come to think of it, I miss those 3 stores when they were in downtown, which is now awful as well.
@@ritam9132 If you have Prime most items take a day. Brick and mortar stores will be used as huge storage areas and everything will have to be ordered eventually.
I am hoping Moonbeam capital investments does not by the property because it could go abandoned like the Century lll mall.
