I know it’s a bit late but pull the jet pump first as the impeller is know to suffer swell from the wear ring and locks. Speaking from experience especially if used in salt water. Also the ride plate does not have any bearing on holding the pump in place. What holds the pump is the 4 bolts going straight into the ski
