These guitars are fine (I don't like pull switches) the Tele is q. pretty. The real Star of this is Richard Barrett. What a lovely player this guy is. I have followed with interest his work, incl faultless transcriptions of great guitar repertoire, and he is a DIAMOND. 24ct,no less.
One of the best review...I was on the fence because of the negative comments on other videos about the noiseless pickups....but after watching this video....i have no doubt that this guitar offers an arsenal of tones ..like none other in a competitive price. You can tweak just the tone buttons enough to get the tones you need. Unless you are Joe Bonamassa, Eric Gales you will do just fine with the player plus. Got myself a perl white sss.
People saying the noiseless pickups this and that. I’ve yet to play a better pickup. They are somewhat fuller sounding than most single coils and don’t buzz. For a working musician or recording what is not to like about that? I’ve recently swapped a strat for the Nashville player and it’s an excellent guitar. Those locking tuners are so precise and hold fast. The saddles make the strings sustain nicely.
The Strat neck appears not on centre line of guitar. Base string looks to be further into the neck than top e which appears closer to the edge of the neck..I note the intonation screws are really screwed up tight ot get it tuned. Go for a modern Squier QC so much better
I learned the Eric Clapton/John Mayall's Bluesbreakers version of the Freddie King classic Hideaway via Mr Barratt's Lick Library video lesson and the man is good! Forensic, concise, no nonsense. An excellent musician AND teacher too, no doubt.
Richard, May all be well! Straight off.. I rarely watch/listen to videos featuring demos of guitars, or gear.. what have you.. but, because of the intro - and, because it's YOU - I watched all the way to the last note! Glad to see Fender is improving their offerings to players who love their guitars.. I'm sure most of those 'enhancements' have come from listening to what guitar players have told them they would like to see/hear/have in their guitars! Amazing, isn't it? Leo nailed it right out of the box.. the Stratocaster, the Telecaster, the Fender Precision/Jazz! Among the multitudes of guitars offered today, they still stand proud and strong! And, by the way, it really brought it all home when the rhythm section was added to the mix. An excellent demo, from the hands of a Master! Great Job (still waiting for more of those Hooker vamps)!
Hello David. Great player indeed. Could you please tell me his full name, so I can watch more videos of this really good player? Richard..? Or any links links if you can..! Mike. Rhodes, Greece
I have many guitars, fenders. gibsons and jacksons even a real nice martin acoustic, but I dont get it when people say they dont like fenders. For me the tele is the most comfortable and best necks of all, I do prefer the traditional teles, however I do have one with humbucker on the bridge and its amazing.
I have this tele. Awesome guitar. Only negative thing is pickups arent balanced in a sense: middle position sounds good- bridge is too thin; bridge sounds good- middle/neck sound too big and boomy…
For the money it’s a great classic Fender with nice options, my opinion is the action is so low on the strat the frets are buzzing a bit and the pick ups sound very thin. The paint job is beautiful and love the 12 radius and locking tuners. Great demo!
Excellent, thorough demo of these great guitars. Also, Richard, what an amazing guitarist! You, sir, are a player plus in your own right! Love your style(s).
Very helpful and detailed review thanks as I am looking to buy a player plus tele. One question I had is with the neck and body seeming to be a little thinner than traditional fender player tele, is the overall weight lighter?
.... Super gute Gitarre... im Shop war ich mehr als überrascht über die Qualität der Gitarren... Is it my imagination or is the neck on the Strat absolutely amazing more like the Ultra yet the Tele neck still feels like the first guitar neck ever made 😐
I haven't owned one of the cheap guitars with noiseless, but the Elite Strat and Tele that I had both sounded great with them...and no hassle anywhere you play. These sound great.
@@RickMcCargar My comment was meant to be lighthearted, but since you mentioned it.. It’s true that $122 in 1965 had the same buying power as $1000 in 2021. $122 TODAY doesn’t seem like a lot, but it sure was *back then*. I’m guessing anyway, since the average family income in 1965 was $6,900 and houses averaged $21k. (Estimates provided by the US census.) Am I being extra? Sure, I freely admit it. I'm of the belief that no one can "hear" any difference b/w Pau Ferro & Rosewood. I do think an argument can be made for how they feel different. That being said, Pau Ferro feels quite nice to me, better than Indian Laurel. Perhaps rosewood feels better idk 🤷♂️
Nothing wrong with vintage spec. Just something different.. same reason Fender offers different colors, pickup configurations, and neck radiuses. 🤷🏽♂️
Fender guitars now are like Porsche 911s, there are that many different variations it gets confusing ! If you want a guitar the plays beautifully and is built beautifully too buy a G and L Fender's direction for me has gone from wanting to make great guitars to becoming a marketing brand .

Rolled fingerboard edges in Player Plus models. A definite welcome addition.
The tele sound, warm¡, percusive, lovely. I just like it.
The Player Plus Telecaster (I have a sunburst version) is OUTSTANDING. In this video it sounds so much better than the Strat IMO...
Yes the bridge pickup is near to 11k ohms dc while the other two are around 10.5k ohm dc
Great demo.Think I need one of those Teles

Why the Synthetic Bone (Plastic) nut?! Such a shame.
Yeah that's a total deal breaker!

aged candy red, looks like copper
Its what it says and looks awesome in person
Richard always gets the best tone out of any guitar. I'm guessing this is through the Vox AC30.
Ac15. He said that at the beginning.

Good tones, but the Ferro fretboard looks terrible.
doesnt feel all tht nice either tbh
