When he started acting he couldn’t speak English -he had to learn his lines by the sound rather than the meaning. One of his first English films was The Man Who Knew Too Much.
i would call it dexterister because i am left-handed and the dexteristic dictature is everywhere, pure hell ... though i didnt know he is/should be sinister ... it seems to me rather like "omg, what will happen to me again?!", you mean that?
Peter Lorre is a great actor Mr. Motto is fantastic. Peter. Lorre also played in some great movie🎥 with Humphrey Bogart and Sydney Greenstreet (the fat man) Maltese falcon. Passage to Marseille. Background to Danger. Casablanca. Thanks for the upload👍👍 Motto is a great Detective🕵
The director adds many little touches to this. Many sets, many camera setups. A real pro. production. Very well photographed and always moving ahead with the story. The beer moment is great. These are all better than the Charlie Chan films. Way better.
Good movie and what a cast! Peter Lorre, George Sanders and the handsome Ricardo Cortez! Yum yum. And how about an honorable mention for the female actress, Virginia Field. She’s terrific especially in her 1940s and 50s movies.
Oh well. I have this one. Still think i will watch it. They are really good abd Peter Lorie is so versatile. He can pop up anywhere with make-up and unrecognizable.
Peter Lorre is amazing as mr. Moto he is Charlie Chan Sherlock Holmes Columbo and James Bond 🕵🕵♀️🕵♂️👮♂️🥋🚘🚔🚕🤺🥊🔥🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥💥💥💯💯💯🎥🎥📽📽 thanks for the upload 😀 👍 😊 😄 😘 📽🎥💯
Fun film that I have seen a couple of times but this is the first time I see that at the 9:58 mark when the waiter hands the gentleman a playbill the #1 entry is a plug for "Charlie Chan in Honolulu" starring Warner Oland!
Big kudos for noticing that. I love spotting connections between movies and references such as that one so usually look out for any but that one totally passed me by.
@@markc7440 love doing that, too. Or continuity errors! They don't normally detract from the story, but they're fun to catch. Especially when you consider that someone was paid A LOT of money to catch those little flaws!
18:18. Moto really blew it for the British agent. He should've let him remove the whole page of his identity from the 'Who's Who', he might've still been alive.
If somebody is depressed, that person should be advised to watch old black and white movies. I would recommend mr moto, Charlie chan and Sherlock Holmes movies.
Peter Lorre is a classic character actor. His son use to produce porno movies. Not sure if he still does that now. But I suppose we all have to do things to make money to survive in this world. He should do acting like his father. Or at least try it once. Maybe he has gotten too old to do it I don’t really know. But yes his father was a very talented actor who starred with a lot of great actors. Maybe he could write a book. I think every human being has a book in them.
For people who thinks of these movies as racist, heres a point to ponder it is a Japanese character during a time when Japan was going after China there was a lot of hatred for them before Pearl Harbor and this character was something bright in a world of hatred.
Despite the inexcusably egregious cultural misappropriation represented by this series, the same as the Mr. Wong and Charlie Chan series, it always has pleased me that Peter Lorre had the opportunity to star as the martial art practitioner hero of his own series. Even rating co-stars like George Sanders and John Carradine. Really love the flying through the air leap onto the bad guy @107:44.
His role in this film takes advantage of none of George Sanders' talents - his smooth, witty, even oily style. Try The Picture of Dorian Grey or All About Eve for a better outing.
I've allways liked Peter Lorre in any film he was a very good actor
Me too 👍👍👍
Agree++
He was. He was particularly good in Fritz Lang's M.
When he started acting he couldn’t speak English -he had to learn his lines by the sound rather than the meaning. One of his first English films was The Man Who Knew Too Much.
I wish he had gotten better parts, not always the weaselly villain as in Maltese Falcon.
Another great Mr Moto mistery. Wish they would have a Mr Moto TV series.
No actor was more sinister than Peter Lorre. One of my all time favorites.

Some wonderful old cars in this movie. I don't know one from the other, just love the style of the period.
Ha! Its not just me who’s watching the car’s they are beautiful.
37:25 Car appears to be a Pierce Arrow

Excellent! BIG BIG George Sanders fan and Ricardo Cortez. Peter Lorre was outstanding in these films. They're fun, with a good story. Thanks.
Big fans of all three!

Went to the comments and read one in particular why why why why I've never seen this movie before I'm still going to watch it
I am watching again! It is a great movie
Such a good little old "B" movie. Well worth the hour or so. Peter Lorre, as usual is excellent. England, January, 2024.
I just watched this on dvd ,tjanks for posting for others to watch, old movies are great
Mr Moto, my man to go to!
I love old spy movies. I hadn't seen this one yet. Now that I've seen it, I recommend it because it's better than many films produced by Netflix.
Great stuff.
Oh well. I have this one. Still think i will watch it. They are really good abd Peter Lorie is so versatile. He can pop up anywhere with make-up and unrecognizable.
Thank you!
My favorite!
I watch all 8 Mr. Motto movies at least once a year...............
Just started watching I'm sure it's good. I haven't seen a Mr. Moto movie yet that I haven't enjoyed.
Peter Lorre an unsung hero of the cinema.
This was great!
They don't make woman like they used to.
Great movie please, thanks for sharing. Charlie Chan, Sherlock Holmes and Mr Moto are some of my favorite old movies. 👏👏👏🥰😍
Thanks for posting
This classic movie
What happened to Mr. Moto
During World War Two?
Interment camp
@@hertzair1186Hmmm, meant as a “sly” joke. PL continued to act in Hollywood. The Maltese Falcon 1941, Casablanca 1942

Me gustan mucho las películas de Mr. Moto. Podrían traducir al Español o poner subtítulos en español. Gracias.
I have two boxes of Mr. Moto and i live them. So glad to find one on you tube. I hope it is one i dont have.
I love ❤️💝💝 it 💟😍 thankful 💘❣️😍 thankful
These older movies seem to represent a time when the US was actually interested in the rest of the world.
48:19 Who sank the French fleet near Oran?
The French by not surrendering
July 3, 1940 The English, as instigated by the ever-perfidious Winston Churchill. Over 1500 French sailors died.
This one was 👍 great ❤
Unfortunately, unlike the other Moto movies, this is not a Who Done It? Mystery, but, it was a good movie
7 minutes, 50 seconds. I always get into cars that have just tried to run me over. Wouldn't anyone?
They thought he was a Chinaman! Honest Mistake!
Lorre was great as usual.
He was a great actor, especially in Europe. The film industry in America pigeon holed him.
Lorre and Cortez. Oh goodie.
Wow George Sanders ..
Genial assistir a uma descida de batiscafo lá pelos idos de 1940!... Sem certeza de retorno!

To heck with cancel culture.
@@musicalme27 Right? Cancelling cultures through egregious misappropriation manifests misanthropic bigotry.
Please……they are honoring the race and culture….Moto Chan and Wong are shown as highly intelligent.
@@hertzair1186 Aww, how precious, at the same time, meanwhile, actual minorities were cast as characters who were hapless and feckless.
@@musicalme27 Oh, go ban some books why don't you?
Much better than Charlie Chan, if less charming and far more rough.
Just trying to figure out your name and wondering if the "one" was a typo. If not, then it could represent a binary 00100=4. Hmmm

Truthfully. This was Hollywood's worst Racist portrayal of Asian People 😢
Needs mantan Moreland, or Andy Moreland, to make this trash palatable
