Great video! While I don't plan on doing this swap, knowing that I could pop off the arms of the Love Triangle Cyclops as you did will make a custom I'm working on a lot less painful. I thought I was going to be stuck cracking the torso. Definitely helpful. Keep 'em coming!
Thanks man! Though... I do have to tell you that the arms/body on these 2 are fairly different from the Love Triangle Cyclops. I think for that one you'll still have to crack it open if you're interested in taking the jacket off of that one.
Nice swapping of parts! Morph's jacket looks good on the new Cyclops figure. Oddly enough, I'm wearing the same shirt today that you are wearing in your video. lol.
@@marvelghost Kinda same difference. I used these two in particular since they were/are both pretty available. Though at this point the Love Triangle Cyclops shouldn't be terribly expensive I think?
Luckily he is still available on Hasbro Pulse! And with the number of sales they've done so far I'm betting you'll get a chance at one below retail in the months to come! How did the shading removal go?
@ComicallyToys Really good! It took about 20 or so minutes all total without interruptions. I still have two tiny spots of gold on his visor that absolutely won't come off no matter how hard I scrub them though.
@@Diesel0306 That's pretty good! I wonder if maybe the paint is set in some more porous parts of the visor. You could try a really fine grit sand paper(like 2000 grit) and see if you can carefully just remove it that way. Let me know if you try that!
Well, it only took me 2 months, but I finally got around to ordering a Morph and another Cyclops. Figure if I'm gonna do it, might as well have one with the jacket and one without. 😁
Happy to help! I'm unclear if Gambit can be done in the same way so you might want to Google around first. With that said, I also did a soft goods coat on my original Gambit and just put the coat over his existing arms and you can't tell!
I'm not sure, but did you ever find out? I think Havok might be the kind of body that needs to be cracked open so it wouldn't be super straight forward.
@@ComicallyToys Darn. That's what I figured. I want to use the new long jacket that comes on the X-Men '97 Gambit and use it on an older Gambit body because I like the colors and new mold of the new jacket, and the colors of the first release's body. They all have the same jacket arms though.

@@ComicallyToys Oh, okay! For whatever reason, my brain registered you popping the Love Triangle one. Good to know!. hah!

Thanks, Loston! What was funny for me was that I filmed it a week ago, but when I was wearing the same shirt while editing haha!
I'll definitely try thiss!!
Heck yeah please do! And if you have an IG or FB then feel free to tag me if you post! I'd love to see the results!
This helped me alot! Thank you!
I'm glad I could be helpful to you!
@@ComicallyToysWouldn't the Love Triangle Cyclops arms and jacket be a better swap with VHS Cyclops?

And now I'm going to try and find myself a Morph. 😊
I just did the cel shade removal on Cyclops last night.

Tysm for this vid man, I’m hoping to swap the arms on a gambit to give him a soft goods trench coat

@@ComicallyToys awesome to hear about your gambit man!!!
Wonder if Jim Lee Havok jacket and arms can fit on Morph body.

Do you know if the jacketed Gambit figures (original and retro carded) has the same jacket arms and can come off this easily? Or is it crack and pop?
Unfortunately I'm pretty confident that one you need to crack open. What are you trying to customize if you don't mind me asking?

FrAnK is going to do this with an extra 275 figure. maybe give Gambit the jacket
Let me know if you do give it to Gambit! That sounds like it would look good!
@@ComicallyToys ya the problem is the sacrifice in double jointed elbows
Do the arms stay wide apart on the cyclops with the jacket?
Unfortunately yeah they can't go straight down to his sides. But you don't need them to go straight down when you have him in a bunch of sweet poses!
