    You guys seem cool Im Maliki Muslim (not salafi like the ones u argued with in SC so dont judge lol) but I heard U have tawheed and also U found truths in other scriptures and compiled them.. Ibn Arabi was Maliki and he said good things about some scriptures from Indian subcontinent. I am totally ignorant about these matters but I want to learn about them. You seem like very beautiful and cool people..

    The title hasn’t been addressed properly as you went off on a tangent and we really need to keep the English simple and on track for our youth to follow easily and what makes sense for example which western youth know what “jugiasooh” mean??
    Please be mindful as the title was so exiting and needs addressing and rightly so as temples do not translate or educate anyone in sangat even on weddings which is a priceless opportunity to shed some much needed light on what the real Union is about the soul meeting her husband lord and the journey within but instead we translate it to human bodies which is not the case

    We need to start using sikh vocabulary as it is no matter that language we use. What is prayer to us? Use the term we would have used in actual sense. This distorts the actual meaning of the term as translation is never precise.

    • @tejindersingh9845
      @tejindersingh9845 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The reason these terms are used in titles is so that it makes it more searchable and therefore accessible to a wider audience. In doing so, people will then watch the videos and learn the correct terminology. This allows us to bring more people in to the fold of Sikhi.

    • @navtojsingh
      @navtojsingh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tejindersingh9845 to first distort our basic tenets just so that people may learn the correct stuff afterwards doesn't seem a long term wise decision. We must use our terms as it is and the algorithm is smart enough to pick it up, we dont ought to worry about that. In line with what you have written dear Sir, much damage has already been done like use term such as Golden temple, Name for naam, community kitchen, hymns, etc. All these terms gravely distort the depth of meaning of actual sikh terms. It's time we intervene in different languages using our own vocabulary rather than always trying to appropriate and compromise. Let others learn some new things as well. This is how we will propagate Sikhi Sikhiya not the other way around. Its harmful in long term. Utterly harmful.

    • @tejindersingh9845
      @tejindersingh9845 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's really not as harmful as you are making it out to be ji.
      Guru ji would travel to different parts of the world speaking different languages so that those people would be able to take something from the Guru.
      When we were kids did we ever truly understand the true meaning of Langar, Japji Sahib or mool mantar or even Ikoankaar? Most likely not. But as we get closer to Guru Ji. We learn it's all part of the journey.
      It is not suppressive nor is it diminishing the Guru's history or sikhia because that is kept intact when discourse is given.
      Not looking for a back and forth here. I do understand what you are saying. But we can't box Sikhi of just because others may not understand the terminology. Guru Ji is Jagat Guru for a reason.
      The Guru of the whole world.
      A world full of many languages, walks of life and so on.

      @@tejindersingh9845 using different languages to communicate and using our conceptual terminology as it is are two different things. Any translatory word for a Sikh term would not at all capture its meaning. What's the use of such translation where you cant convey the true meanings. Translation is welcome for works of literature however what we are dealing with here is something different. This practice is not boxing sikhi, instead this is actually a grounded parchar bidh which forwards the tradition as it is with confidence instead of appropriating it according to others and living in a state of complex. In terms of katha we may use analogies and translations to make students understand but eventually we ought to stick to the central theme/sidhant. We can't underestimate the processes of language and their links to human psyche.

    I was enjoying your talk on the wedding prayers until you stated SINGH and KAUR. Does this mean that billions of people who don't carry these two as their surnames cannot have the vows read at their wedding. If so, does God just belong to SINGH and KAUR people?
    I love the Gurbani. Never have I heard of this discriminating state written by Guru Sahib or infact any gurus or mystics.
    In my belief I have only known of One God and we are all His children.
    What you are stating is not that????

      Singh and Kaur became a real thing by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, duding Guru Ram Das Ji time this did not exist. And he already mentioned that Christian weddings and other religious weddings aim for the same thing. The main concept to grasp is us not needing to extorted by others to get married, just need the Shabad.
