I’ll second the good song and good pipes comments, cheers! Yes it is a valuable lesson to learn to be flexible enough to roll with life’s punches, both on and off trail; I’m glad for you that you already seem to have that part baked in. It is important to realize that the Trail (or, insert metaphor for life here) is the planner, not us. Already delayed in starting my hike due to due to shipping delays, I also learned a few hours ago that my new very expensive UL tent was poorly manufactured with a critical component not built-in. It is the weekend and I can’t reach the company until Monday when I’m supposed to be on trail and I’m not paying for another night at Amicalola. The remedy has not been revealed to me yet, but I know it will be, so there’s not a lot to do here but say the Serenity Prayer and choose to keep my joy. Good for you for pressing on but I know how miserable that must have been. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
I dont know what to tell you about the tent. Buy another at a local outfitter and send defective one back? As far as NORO...I dont think so. I have been having issues with a medication which has caused inconsistent episodes of vomiting and nausea. I recently learned how bad this medication is for anyone and had discontinued its use one week prior. Some people keep having episodes long after stopping this same med. Nobody else at the hostel got sick and if course I sanitized the bathroom fully after vomiting yet again on my return to the hostel. No more episodes other than this one day, byt burping that burgers unique taste all day.....no way could I ever eat there again. Others had that same meal the night before with no problems so I conclude it was likely that med causing my issue.
Attitude is everything. Like they say “life is 10% what happens to us and 90% of how we react to it”. I believe you have grasped that well and will only improve as you go. 👍🏼🙏🏼
Great to be following along on your adventure. Ive always went with the idea that its not the speed thats important, but the fact that you get er done. Hope the stomach clears up for you. 👍👍
It did! I stayed at the hostel all day the next day and the following day pulled 10 miles with a smile on my face. There were no more issues after that one day and the rest served me well.
I heard that from Ramdino a couple of videos ago. Speculation was for hope that it wouldn’t find its way to trail until sometime later in the bubble but that’s also the first thing I thought about.
I think it was a medication I was on. See my response in the above pinned comment. I dont want to spread NORO rumors when it was most likely my own body response, which has happened before, while I was on this med.

Thank you.
Dicks creek to muskrat shelter has kicked many hikers butts, mine included. Still a neat section.
That will be in NC so I have yet to get there.
@ Hope for a speedy recovery

Man your sub count is going up pretty quick nice job!
It is because there arent a lot of early AT hikers so...peoples selection is limited. Maybe some actually like the videos.
You will overcome! Congratulations 1k! 👍
Thanks Tom. You cant stop the SQUAK!
I Wonder if you had Norovirus, it’s rampant across the country. Loved the song! Decent voice u got!

One more hardship, huh?, when there's no no privy and the ground is frozen. Hike on!
