another tip : supporting friends and family, when people support each other then it lightens the load that an individual had to carry.
great tip!
Ohhhh yes wonderful words Thank you x
Here in the UK, near where I live, we have repair cafés where you can get stuff repaired for a donation of an amount you can afford. As it's run by volunteers they will do repairs for free if you are really struggling financially. I had all of my scissors sharpened for a £5 donation. It's a great community project.
wow i love that! wish we had that here.
Love it!
Buy used. Clothes. Books. Appliances (refurbished).
Use reduced amounts: shampoo, detergent, recipe ingredients, meat.
Limit shopping exposure.
Improve your health and energy. Don’t buy stuff your body doesn’t need.
Take a walk. Wash the dishes. Exercise.
yes i do all this too!
We bought a new home and could supply our own appliances or go thru builder. We supplied the appliances. We found a family renovating their kitchen. The appliance were only 2 yrs old. We bought the stove top oven, refrigerator and dishwasher for $150. We had to transport. Went thru Craigslist. The appliances lasted 20 years. We bought the floor model scratch and dent washer/dryer, dent wasn’t visible. We negotiated the price down. They were no sales taxes, because of high efficiency. My electric company offered a rebate for HE appliances. Then I paid with discounted gift cards. I bought the gift cards with my 1% back credit card, which gets paid off monthly.
@@kenyonbissett3512 Wow. Wow. Wow!
Yes! And helpful to the planet as well.
I'm so glad my mom taught me how to sew. It's such a useful skill to be able to mend holes, fix buttons, hem/tailor pants, and I even sewed fake fruit on a headpiece for my daughter's costume in a play!
that's so awesome! i need to learn!
I don’t Romberg not knowing how to sew…hand and machine…I was making clothing in 1st grade…point being : it is not difficult or overwhelming to learn, and skills increase with time and repetition. So you can learn and I hope you do.
Before going food shopping. I take picture of contents in freezer and fridge. Also my pantry. I do make a list of what I know I am out of and need. This helps for items not sure about while at store or when i get ideas. I just look at my pictures and i can see that i have it. Its hard to keep all inventory in your head.
this is great! thanks for sharing!
This is such a great tip. I used to cringe when YTers would say go thru your pantry, fridge, freezer and make a list of what you have. Me, I just took pictures.
For the sunglasses if you can't find an eye glass repair kit see if you can find a cheap pair at the dollar store that has the piece you need. It could also be cheaper than the repair kit. I also keep an old pair of glasses to take parts from if needed.
thanks for the tip! i'll look at my local dollar store
Yup, agree with the lists, I'm also a list maker. For sure need one when going to the grocery store, not just to keep you from buying things not needed but so you don't forget the items you actually do need.
exactly, glad you agree!
I get my sunglasses n reading glasses from Dollar Tree for $1.25 each it works.
they do have a nice selection there!
After cataract surgery, I needed “ readers” the ophthalmologist suggested I go to the “dollar store”. I have $1.25 glasses in most rooms of my house!
When ever i had the same issue with my regular glasses i would take them to the local jewelry store and they only charge $3-5 dollars to repair
that's great! thanks for the tip!
One tip I would add to this list is to curate exactly what and who you're subscribed to so that you're not as tempted to buy things you don't need. This can be through email, or any influencers you're following through Instagram, TH-cam or TikTok. Saying this may sound a bit obvious (and going cold turkey on social media all together just may not work for some people), but as someone who's been guilty of the lifestyle creep mindset for the majority of my 20's, at some point you really just need to be honest with yourself and learn to re-shift your priorities.
yes yes definitely!!
I love using the internet to learn new things! I'm also a huge list maker. I like to make a list of things that I'd like to have, and then I think about it for a day, week, month or more - and I've saved a lot of money by deciding against lots of purchases this way :) Definitely do a video about not buying stuff you don't need!
I'd love to switch to mint mobile, but according to their website they have "poor" coverage where I live. 😥That would be a nice savings over what I'm paying for AT&T right now.
Definitely agree! Yep I am a long time AT&T user but Mint Mobile is more cost effective and really couldn't tell the difference of the service! Thanks for watching ️❤️
Great tips Mariela. It’s so silly how many streaming services are not allowing to share accounts. I like the fix it not replace it tip. I’ll have to try more of that. Have a safe and wonderful trip to NOLA!
Thanks! I agree. And thank you! 🙏
I understand why the owners of the channel don’t allow it. I have a friend who shares with her three kids’ households. It’s helpful for sure, but it’s not right according to the service provider. Their bad…but they are fixing it, as is their right.
My sun glasses…ultra v protection…came from the dollar store.
love it!
Nice idea sometimes I fail to stick to my budget list , I can buy even the things which are not needed
It happens, it's okay :)
Aldi grocery stores are super cheap compared to many other stores. They have better selections now versus in the past. You can get many staples for significantly less money.
an Aldi opened up near me and I love going there!
God bless Ryan Reynolds for Mint Mobile. He's a great person and a God send Yey
agreed lol
With takeout, if cost is the same, I'd recommend eating in so it is more of an experience (if it is not fast food) and the food is hotter than taking it home. Another way to do take out is to find a place next to an outdoor place you like to be so you can eat your food there, and again, make it an event rather than the tired old, "I am eating takeout at home because I can't be bothered to cook tonight."
I love this. Thanks for sharing
Such a great idea! When my husband was working late, often we cooked food we liked (but hubby didn’t) and we would eat in the family with a blanket, so it was an indoors picnic. My husband wanted dinner at the table. Unfortunately the parks were equal distance to our home, food temp would be the same. But, I guess we could have used the cold/hot insulated grocery bags to keep the heat in.
For entertainment: our local library system has family four packs of different museums/attractions you can borrow for free admission.
that's wonderful!
Biggest tip. Is to slowly find multiple streams of income that can help reduce your monthly expenses then grow to cover them all Then use your job income to 8nvest and grow
yes!! great tip!!
I have the iPhone 13
Sliver.
Nice!
Damn that iPhone screen
Is cracked really bad 😮
It's just the plastic cover that is cracked not the actual screen haha
👎on mint mobile
you didn't like them?
We don’t get good coverage in my area on mint mobile, but we are considering Visible because they use Verizon which works well around here.
I like to play the CVS drugstore games using store/manufacturer coupons, rebates and sales to get household products and personal items free or low cost. I follower YTers who figure out the deals. This makes it easy and less time consuming. I do adjust for my needs. Sometimes if the food is on sale and I have a moneymaker week I buy food at CVS.
For food I follow 2 approaches for a family of 4.
1. Meat $1-$1.50lb, veggies $1-$1.50lb, carbs $0.50-$1lb = dinner for $2.50-$4 a night. I do try to average to spend $3-$3.50. I do similar for lunch ($2.50-$3) and breakfast ($2-$3). Total budget about $75 a week. I live in a high cost area.
2. It’s 5 steps with meal planning.
A. Write down 14-21 dinner meals, lunch 7-10, breakfast 2-3 with variations that can be tasty and frugal.
B. Write out ingredients for all meals.
C. Buy ingredients on sale, eventually 50% off or better. Eventually, you will get everything to a low cost price.
D. Notice sale cycles in your stores. Item b is at its lowest sale price every 4-8 weeks.
E. Use loyalty card (sale price, coupons, gas/grocery rebates). Know your stores coupon policy - my store take competitor coupons, I use a $10 off $75 from another store several times a month. Use coupon and rebates apps ( add 1 every 2 wks, don’t get overwhelmed). Use the free FLIPP app to see all sales in your area for the week.
Well done!
wow thank you for this! I haven't used the FLIPP app, I will check it out!
