@Brandonsgarage You are correct. The lap steel is pretty much an electric dobro. If you can play one, you can play both. The Rogue is actually a pretty good one to go with. They are made by Fender and you really can't go wrong there. So, yeah.....give it a shot. And at that price......you betcha!

@newporter42 Thank you very much. As far as the fret lines go, I find that it's usually just what angle you are at looking at them. If you are like I am when demonstrating a couple of things on this preview, then everything is dead on via line of sight in the upper register, but everything looks really flat when looking at the lines up by the headstock, simply because I'm not looking at them from the same "directly above the lines" view as I am with the higher fret lines.

@kmaaske Congratulations! They are very cool! You'll need to use a metal file (triangular if you have one) and cut some slots in the bridge for the strings to sit in. Peavey forgot to do it and they just flop all over the place. Beyond that, you're going to be golden. The strings are: 1st-E 2nd-C 3rd-A 4th-G 5th-E 6th-C
    .015 .018p ..022p .024sf* .030sf * .036pf
    So, you're dead on correct.

@Brandonsgarage Awesome, you really can't beat them at all. A better slide bar is nice besides the one that comes with it. But otherwise, I have 3 of them now and couldn't be happier. I don't own any other brand, they do everything I ask of them.

@acousticusmaximus Yes they are actually. Rogue is owned by Fender 100%.

You inspire me to work on my Peavey when you point out the correct strings to use.
By the way, do you find the fret lines on the instrument to be a little "off" ?

Great video, I have a few questions though. (i don't know much about lap steel. I'm a banjo picker.) is a lap steel guitar basically and electric dobro? and would you recommend the rogue EA3 for a beginner lap steel. Again, great video.
