Summer, 1971. Three campers defy local legend and desecrate an ancient totem pole in the woods surrounding Camp Eaglewalk, unleashing the fury of a mysterious creature that kills two of them. Ten years later, emotionally damaged and determined to convince himself there's no such thing as monsters, Elliot, the sole survivor of that night, returns along with a handful of counselors to reopen the now-abandoned summer camp. What follows is a 24-hour nightmare of terror!

This is SUCH a good recreation of the classic 80s horror style. I was born in the 80s, and am a huge fan of the aesthetic of the time. I've seen a lot of movies try (and fail) to recapture that era of horror successfully, so I award the film makers my official seal of 80s approval!
Have you seen Summer of 84 (2018) yet? Such a good movie but another excellent one which is done in a very cool old style (although set in modern day, its difficult to tell) is The Town that Dreaded Sundown (2014) - if you like the old classics you will love these 😊

There's a standard format in these films, which presents us with at least one unbelievably stupid character.
If played well enough, we find ourselves willing the monster/psycho to find them and punish them for being so stupid.

Awwwwww, Donkey Kong just wanted a friend. Poor thing. Decent flick however. Kudos.
It was pretty cool, I love creature features. He appears to have prevailed at the end, but he has to live the rest his life knowing his mistake got his friends killed. That's a hard lesson to live with.
This was exceptionally well done. From the acting to the to the cinematography to the music its all put together very well. Im a big fan of Big Foot horror sub-genre and I've gotta say in 20 years I've only seen two cinematic efforts that were really any good. This will make a third and astonishingly its a short film. You guys really built up a sense of dread and anticipation in me as I watched this and rather shockingly killed off the one person I expected to live.
The only con really was the ending, I don't think taking out a creature with that sort of size and mass would be quite so easy, but then again men have managed to kill attacking bears with a knife or even an arrow in hand so maybe. Most interestingly it seemed the creature was never intending to hurt the man who freed it at all. I wish this was a feature because Id love to see more of the mythology you've hinted at here explored. Bravo to everyone involved I hope you all continue to do better and bigger things in the future,

Wonderful movie! I truly enjoyed it. I only have one discrepancy. I grew up in the 80's. There is no way to convince me that a jock or motorhead would ever let their gas tank run dry. I realize that it was done to convey what a huge steaming pile he was. Hitting on the other girl, in front of his gf, already did that. It's a slasher movie, set in the 80's. You already have the license to be cliche. A flat tire and no spare just works better in my head. Of course, that is just my opinion. Besides, it didn't take me that far out of it. Again, you should proud of this movie. Big budget Hollywood needs to take notes from you.

i reallllly liked this one !!! not that horror should necessarily have a “good” ending, but this one had a better ending than what could’ve happened, for sure !! i really enjoyed that the protagonist (sorry i cannot remember his name) was able to in the end not only defeat the thing that has been basically tormenting him for years, but then it seemed was able to become more at peace with the situation in doing so. this was GREAT !

My tribes stories tell of a creature that while you don't want to provoke, lived in harmony with us until the settlers came and drove them into the deepest parts of the wilderness. Then they started doing things like stealing women children (only white ones). My people would leave gifts of things like food or jewelry or woven cloth, and would get things left in their place, little odd gifts and trinkets like clusters of sticks bound with grass, or odd stacks of rocks and sticks and the left behinds like cobbs and cores and pits from the food they left, fashioned into rudamentary jewelry. They are not just violent and animalistic, but actually quite intelligent and form bonds with those who show themselves worthy and peaceful.

Now with these things in the woods and dogmen and other creatures from hell I don't camp no more and I live in the woods check I live in WV so it makes me paranoid to walk outside at night,especially things we all hear and see around here.But great movie,it did give a 80s horror.Seems some of the best is older movies but finding some awesome short films that would be awesome if made into a big movie.Great job all.

Wow this is an amazing short story. I would choose this over a long 2 hour movie. such intense suspense. amazing work and details. and this sasquatch bigfoot monster costume is stupendously well done. you can actual feel in the movie÷ and believe it exist. Because its so darn realistic. Great job guys. I've been seeing ya over a year and still I have some that i have not seen..I love you guys, honestly. you guys are the epiphany of what a short story or horror's movies are all about. Hmmmm, I feel like maybe I'm one of the only people to feel this way but it felt like a typical, average depiction of teenage American horror where the people go camping and get confronted by some crappy, cheesy villian. It seemed more than a bit cliché

Is it really necessary to have one or more cartoon like characters in every movie that features Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or Yeti. If movie makers can give a serious treatment to fairies giants and vampires ect then why does it seem imposable to do the same with Bigfoot. Maybe This is the best that the low to no budget people can do, but there films could use some decent writers, and characters with more than two dimensions.

That guy was the ultimate wuss. Yes he fought back in the end but he should have done it earlier when the monster took the girl. Also, he knows what was out there and knew it could be hurt and killed yet he didn't come prepared. He should've gotten it too. Also a monster gorilla man with incredible strength that just swung a grown woman like a rag doll is scared of a twirp swinging a paddle. Just awful

I felt bad for the Big Foot... at the end... it felt like there could have been some kind of back story there... like family history and that was actually a long lost mother or father figure trying to Protect him from what it perceived as danger... the reaching out trying so hard to communicate its love for the child it new..

Why would the girl be taking a shower in this situation? She is already scared, so she makes herself more vulnerable, plus the place is a dump.
Bridget has a face that could fell a totem pole! Jeez! Apart from her scary face, they lost it when they said it was half ape... I just don't find apes scary! I also think that keeping the 'creature' or whatever out of shot and in the imagination would have worked better. I don't think they should have had apes on the totem pole either... I think it is best to leave that sort of thing to the imagination or to producers with huge SFX budgets and even with a huge budget, the creature is often what takes a horror film from a genuinely scary experience to ridicule.
There are many,and I mean many totem poles from the first nation tribe and many other cave drawings and artifacts from many hundreds of years ago depicting Sasquatch/bigfoot all over the northwest and Southwest states.and thousand's of sightings and run ins of bigfoot all over the United States and the world.

This was brilliant. I like the concept of the story, a mixture of suspense, horror and the coming of age theme work so well but I wanted, in my heart for the Bigfoot to win as the kids committed the first act of aggression by being sacriligious.
The moral here should be not to disregard old knowledge but respect it because if Bigfoot is real then it's part of nature (not supernature) and we should respect the planet.
I agree there is no way I would've liked this as a full length movie. As a short film it has just the right amount of pacing and scary moments(I'm glad Bigfoot got enough screen time too) 5 stars
