I think that line is correct with all Greek myth to Posidon lifespan it can say that is isn't often

Just out here searching for as many Epic reactions as I can, and your comments on Odysseus' expression after Poseidon's attack is the first time I've considered that his "what have you done?" is as much (if not more) to himself as it is to Poseidon. So thanks for that extra little bit of soul crushing. 😆

The chorus of the song is about how Poseidon wants to "teach" Odysseus "ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves". When Poseidon asks for the apology I think he was looking for something like: It was wrong to ruin your son's life, leave him to be a miserable and lonely cripple forever, and then act like we were super awesome and merciful for it. If something like this comes up in the future, we won't leave the job unfinished and we won't brag about how awesome we are over the ruins of someone else's life.
Poseidon knows many of his kids are monsters, and being killed fighting a hero is a normal end for their lives. He's done worse things to them himself. But the disrespect of Odysseus leaving his son in "merciful" agony and then acting like he should be praised for it made Odysseus an easy target to vent on. And then the final straw was Odysseus "apologizing" by basically saying that "actually, their actions were right all along and he is totally cool and merciful", which is the exact opposite of what Poseidon has been asking for. Not to say Poseidon would have just let them off the hook, but the lyrics imply that he was considering being merciful to Odysseus, but only if Odysseus could be "merciful to himself".
Poseidon was the god who helped in the creation/origin of horses in some versions of Greek mythology. No wonder the Trojans loved horses too, since Poseidon and Apollo helped build the wall

Probably not, but then again...the gods are fickle in mythology.
The reason why poseidon dont spare them is not because Odiseo didnt said sorry, its because even if he did he would be asking for mercy, and ruthlessness is mercy.

That's why he calls him naive,he honestly thought Poseidon was serious about the apology would fix it..... regardless of the whole song prior being about not getting the job done by just killing his advisory's

I think his anger is not only for the hurting of his son, but also how BRAZINGLY it was done. That whole: "You hurt my son and DIDN'T think I was gonna come after you? YOU are a sailor, and I'm the god of the OCEANS!"
