Augst D is the name Suga of BTS goes by for his solo work. Some other BTS songs you’d probably like are tear, hip hop phile, look here, intro persona, UGH!, interlude shadow, tomorrow
Agust D (also known as SUGA) is ranked as one of the most influential producers and songwriters in South Korea, who won multiple awards over the past few years, including best producer. He debuted at #9 on Billboard Hot 100 Songwriters Chart. He became the first male soloist in history to have a song and album reach No.1 on iTunes in 100 countries each. He is ranked No.1 most streamed Korean male soloist globally in 2021 on Spotify. His mixtape "D-2" debuted at #11 on Billboard 200 and it is the most streamed album by a Korean soloist. And there is just a few of his achievements. He has two self-produced mixtapes: "Agust D" (2016) and "D-2" (2020), which broke several records on music charts worldwide. He uses his platform to talk about important topics and most of his lyrics touch such subjects as mental health, social issues, the contrast between dreams and reality, etc. To put this simply, in Daechwita MV king is his past self. The other one is his present self. So he shot his past self. "Daechwita" is a genre of Korean traditional military music, which was played to announce the arrival of king. He is not only a soloist, but also member of the group BTS (his stage name for BTS is SUGA) and produces/writes a lot of songs for BTS as well as for other top artists. He was also working as producer for brand like Samsung. I recommend you to check out Agust D - "Agust D" MV; BTS - "Interlude: Shadow" MV (it is his solo song)
A record setting song. His use of traditional Korean classical instruments as the baseline is sheer genius (he loves playing with unusual sound combos as a producer along with sick beats). Musically it’s just so unique and throw his rap flow on top… then his lyrics.. the complex ideas here of confronting himself as a mad king who is too obsessed with money and power and wanting to kill that part of himself and get back to his roots is again genius level (or really typical BTS because they always layer deep meanings in their songs). Then he thought up this MV idea and had they money to pay to make it. Consider this was a free mixtape he didn’t need to go this hard on a free mixtape but soo BTS is so extra about their art. We do so love Suga.
Daechwita (literally "great blowing and hitting") is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching or as a static performance
True. But the symbolism behind the meaning is that Daechwita is the music that would be played in the old days to announce the king. So Suga is saying, play the Daechwita because he’s the king and he has arrived.
Songs you might want to react to BTS "mic drop" BTS "fire" Jhope and Becky g "chicken noodle soup" BTS "Dionysus" live stage Jhope "ego" RM , Jhope and suga "ddaeng" BTS "airplane pt2"
You should react to the BTS's rap line songs like Ugh!, Ddaeng, Outro: Tear (live is really great), the Cypher series (1, 2, 3 and 4) or Agust D by Agust D (a.k.a Suga) too.
I am 38 year old, grew up being and absolute fan of 2Pac, Nas, Snoop, Eminem ..... I can easily say without no hesitation that SUGA (Agust D), RM and J-HOPE, the three rappers from BTS are one of the best rappers that have been out. This is not really K-pop. This is just rap music.
Suga's 2nd mixtape Agust D's D-2 has top tier songs in it, including Daechwita. My fave is "What Do You Think" which i highly recommend. Check it out as well as the rest of the BTS raplines multitude of amazing songs, Outro: Tear, Ddaeng, UGH....to name a few. =) What's great about BTS is that they are so versatile. Both raplines( 3 rappers) and vocal lines (4 singers)are that individually there are so talented on their own. Together, they are amazing!
[0:56] "Where's he at.. This place looks familiar.." Min Yoongi (last name first, and first name last) is in his ancestral home - Our man here is straight up related to the last empress of Korea.. That place where they were filming is a precise copy of the main palace in Seoul (built up for filming historical dramas, tv series and movies - and music videos ;D) and a old-time village beside it. Usually the place is booked tight, for years in advance, but there was this darn pandemic that had emptied it, and Min Yoongi stepped up to his throne.. That is his as a King of rap in Korea.. Not by blood, but hard work. Our boy kinda had blood transfusion: He threw away his noble blood, and changed it to the rapper's blood. ("Min Yoongi is dead already (I killed him)" Lyrics of The Last by Agust D). Gloss (SUGA's/Agust D's old rapper name before Big Hit) ran away from home into the rap underground, knowing his father is probably going to disinherit him. 💜 [3:53] "This guy is nice, this Agust D is nice.." Our Blond Emperor just ended his line "Off with their heads" and we moved into the Mad Kings execution court.. Where the Mad King is having a good time playing with his boxes of heads.. :( Well you said the starting scene looked familiar with all the decapitated bodies lying in the palace main yard.. ymm.. Cruesome. :/ 💜 [6:48] I kinda loved seeing you join in the Peasant (black haired Agust D) overthrowing the Mad King. All the Mad Kings courtiers joining in the moshing with the Peasant was a clear sign they all were in his side in the coup. You moshing with them all was a nice to see. Then again Mad King brought a sword to the gun fight. Or rather Peasant brought/smuggled a gun to his decapitation.. Anyway..
BTS -tear (live performance with eng subtitles - there is no MV) BTS - ugh! (You'll need an explained video to fully appreciate the meaning though - its available on yt) BTS - ddaeng (live performance with eng subtitles maybe - again, no MV. There is also an explained video for this song as it will make you appreciate the word play in korean and meaning that would otherwise go over our heads with a simple English translation)
I see basketball jersey on the back... You might like him more coz SUGA plays basketball too... Infact the name SUGA comes from 'Shooting Guard' his fav position when he plays
Korean traditional military music, Daechwita (大吹打) Daechwita is a music that was used as an accompaniment when the king came or the army marched in the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the last gun that Suga shot was "Army" Colt army model 1860
*DAECHWITA - pronounced - DAY-CHI-TA (The W is silent)* - The meaning of Daechwita is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching or as a static performance. (ARMY marching is implied in the music video) The music video “Daechwita,” a solo song SUGA of BTS released under his solo Stage name AGUST D, was filmed at Dae Jang Geum Park in Yongin Province, in Seoul, South Korea. This is a very famous Historical Drama Set used in many Korean Dramas. SUGA insisted on using this location when they were discussing the production of the music video. I will link the Shooting Sketch for you if you are interested in viewing it, a reaction would be nice 😊 Agust D - Daechwita Shooting Sketch w/Eng. subs - th-cam.com/video/KWRJ8CUBsXI/w-d-xo.html
Agust D is Suga backwards with DT for Daegu Town where he's from. It was filmed on a movie set. You should check out Cyphers 1-4 from BTS responding to their haters. Daechwita (don't pronounce the w) was a sort of battle cry in ancient Korea
The line where he talks about pill-poppers seems to reference other rappers (not naming any, but just in general) who claim they make better music while using pills. By the way, the line mentioning "Bang PD" is him directly name dropping his BOSS. It's basically unheard of to do that in Korean society in terms of kpop, which also goes to show what a close relationship he and his members have with their boss since they've been together since the beginning. There's a video where Bang PD was seen making food for Jin, something that wouldn't happen at any other company with any other boss. Also yes, his flow is insane and can change at the drop of a hat.
thank you for being nice and respectful towards BTS and their music ive seen so many reactors being so racist towards them for no reason at all. BTS are the nicest most talented humans thank you for treating them as humans
Agust D (Suga from BTS), like Juice WRLD, is really big on bringing awareness to mental health through his music. I'd recommend that you listen to some of his more personal and vulnerable songs, "The Last", "So Far Away", "Honsool".
W's are silent in Korean, so pretend it's not there. Daechwita was a form of traditional Korean music played when royalty or the army was marching. August D is Suga is Min Yoongi, they are all different names for the same person
I loved the reactions to Girl of my dreams, All Night, Butter and now this!! Yes!! I recommend Mic Drop and Black Swan to you, both are great songs with great music videos
If you liked his flow switch, React to BTS "Ma City" live. The last member of the rapline "Jhope" switched his flow more frequently than you breathe oxygen. The overall performance was so energetic and hype
the video is about suga but here's an "army" recommending another member😶 there's a lot of agust d songs where he switches flows so quick, and i mean COMPLEX flows

Daechwita is an anthem or song that ancient Koreans played as a signal that "the King has arrived." AGUST D (SUGA of BTS) tells people to play it (Daechwita) as loud as they can for he has finally arrived.
Welcome to the K-pop rabbit hole! 😂 My BTS recommendations: - “Joke” by RM - “What Do You Think?” by Agust D (from the same album as Daechwita) - “Ddaeng” by the BTS rapline - “UGH!” by the BTS rapline - Cyphers 1-4 by the BTS rapline - “Hangsang” by J-Hope - “Tear” by BTS rapline - “Dope” - “Idol” - “Fake Love” And here are some non-BTS related recommendations: - “Pretty Savage” by Blackpink - “Boombayah” by Blackpink - “Thunderous” by Stray Kids Have fun! 💜✨
and BTS "no more dream" BTS "Dope" BTS "we are bulletproof" BTS "danger" BTS "idol feat Nicki Minaj" RM , Jhope and suga "Ugh" And I advise you to start with mic drop normal mv then mic drop feat Steve Aoki remix on the stage
Thank God for your respect & open mindedness. And thank you for your genuine reaction. I really needed that, after spending 2 days reading & hearing hate comments on suga. My recommendations will be AgustD - AgustD AgustD - The last Bts rapline - Cypher 1, 2 , 3, 4 Bts rapline - Ddaeng Bts feat steve Aoki - Mic Drop
Hi ! I really loved all your reactions about BTS ! One on my favorite Suga (aka agust d) song is Shadow, I found lyrics very touching (like a lot of BTS songs for me). I'll love see you react to this one if you want ! (Sorry english is not my first language I hope it's understanding)
I was curious what you will think about other songs from BTS after checking out their collab with Juice Wrld - I'm so happy you decided to check more of their music, you are such a fun and nice person to watch :) Enjoy! My recommendation would be Persona, Shadow and Ego - all by a different members of BTS (they do solo works for their group albums).
Yeah need to react to the rap lines cyphers 2 through 4 suga aka Agust d is one of the top m c in the world, also react to RM joke , mic drop ugh Outra tear
I would suggest you to watch _"대취타 Daechwita Explained by a Korean"_ by DKDKTV because there are lots of Korean cultural and historical references behind the MV and the lyrics. Thus, foreigners or new fans wouldn't understand them at a first glance. Link with English captions: th-cam.com/video/JayEtmyXVpo/w-d-xo.html This track was part of his mixtape, _D-2_ which he explicitly expresses himself. You should definitely check it out along with its lyrics. My personal favourite track from the mixtape was _"Moonlight"_ , _"Dear My Friend"_ and _"28"._ th-cam.com/play/PL3NrsGty4eUhSoefTodsi0NZ8gXcd6GlX.html You should also check out other members of BTS's work 'cause they just never disappoint.
You should def. check out some more of Agust D's songs both his mix tapes are absolutely amazing (maybe do Agust D - "Agust D" next!). I would also def suggest you check out BTS Rapline - the Cyphers (1, 2, 3 and 4) is a good introduction to the rappers in BTS. Each of them, RM, SUGA(aka Agust D) and j-hope all have solo work as well. BTS as a whole group have an amazing catalogue of work you really can't go wrong picking up any album they have and pulling any song off it to listen too. Maybe check out DOPE, FIRE, or ON - Kinetic Manifesto by BTS as a good starting point.
Yes! Suga a.k.a AgustD is lit 🔥rapper plus his other fellow rappers Jhope n RM. They all make dope rap music. Love the Rap-Line n the Vocal line. I 💜 BTS forever!
Love your reaction! There’s an awesome explainer video out there done by Koreans as there’s a lot of cultural references here that get lost in translation. In sum, daechwita is a military March played for the king. In the video, SUGA is battling against the king inside himself who wants it all (money, fame, control, domination). So did he kill the king? Or not?
Thank you for your reaction. If you heard SUGA's Daechwita, next is... I recommend "August D". If you heard bts butter, next is... I recommend "Microphone drop". But the microphone drop is m/v, I recommend watching both live performances. You'll like it.🤩🤩🤩
What a nice, open minded, fun reaction! Thank you. If you want to react to all 3 rappers of BTS i recommend these songs👍 RM - monster Agust D - the last JHope - hope world

BTS has a great musical trajectory, since 2013 which was their debut. Each member is tremendously talented and contributes to the band's music, lyrics, dance, and art. I recommend a short documentary, "An introduction of seven members of BTS (th-cam.com/video/kGRlqyuky2s/w-d-xo.html) They are a global cultural phenomenon, not just pop, but with many styles of music and art.
This was such a fun video! So cool that you liked it too! Could you react to SilkyBois - "BOMAYE", NAFLA - "WU", H1GHER MUSIC - "TEAM", JUSTHIS & Paloalto - "4 the Youth Freestyle", BeWhy -"CHALLAN", TigerJK - "LOVE & PEACE", or WayChed - "RIDERS" if you have the chance. Daechwita is an anthem or song that ancient Koreans played as a signal that "the King has arrived." AGUST D (SUGA of BTS) tells people to play it (Daechwita) as loud as they can for he has finally arrived.
Welcome to the K-pop rabbit hole! 😂
My BTS recommendations:
- “Joke” by RM
- “What Do You Think?” by Agust D (from the same album as Daechwita)
- “Ddaeng” by the BTS rapline
- “UGH!” by the BTS rapline
- Cyphers 1-4 by the BTS rapline
- “Hangsang” by J-Hope
- “Tear” by BTS rapline
- “Dope”
- “Idol”
- “Fake Love”
And here are some non-BTS related recommendations:
- “Pretty Savage” by Blackpink
- “Boombayah” by Blackpink
- “Thunderous” by Stray Kids
Have fun! 💜✨
Agust D is Suga (Agust d spelled backwards is Dt Suga. Dt stands for Daegue Town, the place he grew up)

I really like that u censor urself from words u dont want to say or implies bad/wrong connotation
Thank God for your respect & open mindedness. And thank you for your genuine reaction.
I really needed that, after spending 2 days reading & hearing hate comments on suga.

Bts rapline - Cypher 1, 2 , 3, 4
Bts rapline - Ddaeng
Bts feat steve Aoki - Mic Drop

I like that you are really vibing to this. Enjoyed your reaction. Hopefully you will explore the BTS Cypher 1 - 4 series. 🤓
Hi ! I really loved all your reactions about BTS !
One on my favorite Suga (aka agust d) song is Shadow, I found lyrics very touching (like a lot of BTS songs for me). I'll love see you react to this one if you want !
(Sorry english is not my first language I hope it's understanding)
Loved your reaction!! Looking forward to seeing more! Enjoy the BTS journey... officially subscribed 😆
Ohh esperei tanto por esse momento! Que react bom mano! 🔥
Min Yoongi aka SUGA aka Agust D
I don't know if grown men like to hear this, but you are adorable. Thanks for the reaction, loved it!
Omg so fast i love it
I wish all Juice fans were like this..
bruh great vids!! you need to make one reacting to DILLOM from argentina, crazzzy . Great work!
Agust d self titled song Agustd is straight bars
Yeah need to react to the rap lines cyphers 2 through 4 suga aka Agust d is one of the top m c in the world, also react to RM joke , mic drop ugh Outra tear
I would suggest you to watch _"대취타 Daechwita Explained by a Korean"_ by DKDKTV because there are lots of Korean cultural and historical references behind the MV and the lyrics. Thus, foreigners or new fans wouldn't understand them at a first glance.

This track was part of his mixtape, _D-2_ which he explicitly expresses himself. You should definitely check it out along with its lyrics.
My personal favourite track from the mixtape was _"Moonlight"_ , _"Dear My Friend"_ and _"28"._

You should also check out other members of BTS's work 'cause they just never disappoint.
Thank you for reacting man
Agust D is firee alright🔥
Or not?
The KING 👑
I’d also suggest checking out Cypher 2, 3 and 4 (live)! Great reaction
Thank you for your reaction.
If you heard SUGA's Daechwita, next is...
I recommend "August D".
If you heard bts butter, next is...
I recommend "Microphone drop".
But the microphone drop is m/v,
I recommend watching both live performances.
You'll like it.🤩🤩🤩
What a nice, open minded, fun reaction! Thank you. If you want to react to all 3 rappers of BTS i recommend these songs👍
RM - monster
Agust D - the last
JHope - hope world
My boy 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜💜💜💜👑
I like how u bounce your head along with the chorus 🤣 it's a tiktok challenge a year ago, just nice. Take your time to learn all members' names and their personalities, enjoy!
Agust D is awesome!!
React to Do You, Persona and Forever Rain by RM (Namjoon) and Daydream and Ego by J-Hope also :)
“daechwita” is an old korean music genre that they used to play for the king and military. correct me if i’m wrong though lol
You do know that Agust D is Suga from BTS? He goes by Agust D when his doing his solo project.
I am so glad you like our Suga aka AgustD.
React to Leïti Sene x Sticky M.A. - Brujería / Underground spanish music !
Suga is 🔥🔥🔥
This is Suga from BTS..Agust D is his alter ego
I don't know if anyone said this, but 2 members from BTS start fighting behind him in the beginning of the song LOL
Uhhh you should really react to his mixtapes and song Agustd-Agustd🔥🔥🔥🔥 also lyrics are really important!👀 the channel Dkdktv has a nice explanation to this song
You should react to Victory Song or God's Menu by Stray Kids
🔥🔥🔥
This was such a fun video! So cool that you liked it too!
Could you react to SilkyBois - "BOMAYE", NAFLA - "WU", H1GHER MUSIC - "TEAM", JUSTHIS & Paloalto - "4 the Youth Freestyle", BeWhy -"CHALLAN",
TigerJK - "LOVE & PEACE", or WayChed - "RIDERS" if you have the chance.
These songs all have English Subtitles, and I hope you like them. Mostly hip hop. 😊😊😊
you should react to ‘what do you think’ by agust d!
This song is fire 🔥
UGH! by BTS goes really hard too. It's a rap line song so it's just RM, Suga, and J-hope in it 😁 I promise you wont be disappointed!!!
thank u for reacting to agust d and bts. hope youd react to more. we gon help you boost your channel.
love the reaction..
💜💜💜💜💜💜
Welcome to Suga aka Agust D
More BTS Cinematic MV Artistry: (all are under TH-cam 'HYBE LABELS)
Blood Sweat & Tears
IDOL
ON; Kinetic Manfesto Film: Come Prima (though for a really confusing, visually stunning MV watch 'ON' Official MV)
Spring Day
(PS DKDKTV has good explanations. They are Koreans with excellent English who explain the Korean symbolism and idioms in words any one can understand. Ditto for this, Daechwita, MV.
For some good dance MV
MIC Drop, Steve Aoki remix (hip hop)
Not Today (I don't know what the genre would be classified as but it's big production)
To experience them in their early career - DOPE
AgustD is Suga from BTS but agustD is a stage name
check out his "Agust D" MV, his flows are INSANE
