I was lucky to be introduced to the cantatas of Bach when, some time in the early '70s I bought volume 2 of the Leonhardt/Harnoncourt series, then getting under way. This cantata and BWV 8 became particular favorites. Now there are so many wonderful performances of the cantatas available, but I think these are still my favorite performances. Why so few 'views'? I love the boy sopranos, but I don't find them in the more recent performances that I've found - has the thinking on period performance practice changed regarding boys or women?
Why the few views while reptiles like Lady Gaga and her degenerate kind have 70 million?! Why, it's because these reptiles do not have souls, only mind/body dualities.
The boys' voices here are so much better suited to the music than the Vienna Boys, used by Harnoncourt in his contributions to the cycle. There are times when the latter's boy soloists are the closest to 'wobblers' that he have in this entire ground-breaking cycle.
