This video really brings back some very happy childhood memories of when I did this as a kid while visiting a city with any kind of decent public transit. Houston was a terrible place to grow up as a transit fan
I agree with you 100%. It is the present and the future. Automation is generally better than human involvement, and jobs shift to a higher skill level, another bonus being that less people are needed. So sad that my city continues to build non-automated transit. ☹️
They use so many different types of trains and train configurations in this system. And I wonder that they have no platform screen doors. Does Vancouver use another system to ensure tracks are free if trains enter into stations?
So um, what happens if somebody falls on the tracks in front of one of them? Will it drag the body parts around for the rest of the day or until a maintenance worker notices?
Dubai Metro Red & Green Line should be with 90 km longer than the 3 lines of Vancouver Skytrain. First Line opened 2009 and as of 2016 it should still be the longest driverless Metro system in the world. It is operated in GoA 4 grade of automation, i.e. unattended (driverless) operation.I do not know whether there are meanwhile longer automatic Metros e.g. in Asia. 2019 Sydney Metro opened with the first stage being 66 km long. But with future extensions and more lines it might overtake Dubai Metro.
Ontario should have skytrains, I guess they are cheaper than building subways, but I prefer it to be like singapores MRT trains because they have wider bodies, more space inside, like the new Alstom trains
Scarborough RT (1st system)has driver controlled Mark 1, though they were designed as automated intermediate capacity train. Smaller, but more frequent.
MRT SBK line 51km, fully automated Siemens Inspiro Trains plus a 20 year old 45km LRT (Skytrain) line running fully automated the largest fully automated metro system tittle has shifted to Kuala Lumpur (KL) Malaysia. Check out LRT KJ line and MRT SBK line. Construction just began on another fully automated 52km MRT Line called MRT SSP line in KL which is to completed by 2022.
Actually I take back what I said about Montreal being the best system. For its population to number of stations, this is the best system in Canada!

Yes, it is, and it will be even better when Broadway Subway is open in 2025.
@@RMTransit hey RM, can you do about Kuala Lumpur Trains Please
3:30 those are the same trains I saw in Kuala Lumpur's LRT
An Innovia. Used to be made by bombardier but now by Alstom
Underground it looks like a regular metro.

The real question is whens the coke advertisement on the train going to be replaced by anime girls.
When Nintendo moves to Vancouver instead of Amazon.
Still waiting
It's like a supersized version of the DLR in London. 😂😂

So glad to find this video, the Innovia 300's and Innovia 200's series trains. The same models used for the Kelana Jaya LRT Line in Kuala Lumpur.
Speaking of Mark 3 my brother got a surprise of lots of mark 3's in new Westminster and we raced a mark 3 to braid
The mk1 blue and red livery is still the best skytrain

wait. you can actually get up on that bridge on foot?
What do you mean?
Not a bridge, but a viaduct. And yes, you can walk on it.

There are pressure plates in the rails so the train detects objects and stops
only older stations have pressure plates, newer stations have small lasers

Usually most of the subways have driver operators
SkyTrain thankfully does not. It works better this way, and it’s nice to sit at the front of the train.
Asking for what train map apps in Vancouver?thank you
Are those basically Subways or People Movers
So when's the 20 sub ASMR special coming out?
2:48 i thought theses model skytrain only had 4 carts
The mark I trains are (mostly?) run in 6 car configurations.
Nice footage of the Mark III's by the way!
Is skytrain rolling stock similar to NYC JFK AirTrain ?
I've always wondered why they made the mark 1 train's so short

Reece Martin oh
stadium-chinatown
I wish the Sky trains had more seats.
The solution to that is change the seat position, seats look like a coach bus setup
They used to.
SkyTrain: *runs underground*
Which station is that at around the sixth minutes?
Stadium-Chinatown
Nice trains nice girls nice everything.
Can I use some of your footage in my project? I'm not going to make money off of it, and it's only recreational.
Reece Martin ok
Reece Martin Also it's more of a fake ad for a fake company that will never exist. Am I still OK?
Whens the 10 Sub ASMR special coming out??
When he gets ten subs I imagine, he only has six.

2020 the SSP line.
2016 the SBK line completed half.
2017 the SBK line fully operational 51km.
I'm pretty sure the dubai metro is the longest.
I think the bum Bandur think the a 6000 with I think sky train the one with the white and blue livery
an under rated system in a very over rated city.
