@@lemonlizard1 Ive never owned goldfish, except for some comets I obtained in high school and was able to rehome to an appropriately sized 200gallon pond, but I will say with Betta fish, researching reputable distributors is a BIG factor in my experience. The experiences of myself and my friends in the hobby who buy from LFS who actually look into the breeding practices of the distributor they buy from or who buy directly from a well established and reputable breeder vs buying a betta at a big box store is extremely different. This is a side note for Bettas specifically and I don't have any actual research to support this, but I've had a lot of acquaintances who "rescue" Bettas from big box stores and marvel at the extreme color changes their fish will undergo once they're in more optimal and less physically/mentally/chemically stressful conditions. Greetings from Malaysia , I just seen your video recently and I know is too late to comment on Dummpy but I think is alright to share it here as well. Basically Pearl Scale is gentically modified goldfish so many people thought of having them like regular goldfish, but after my own several try , finally I get to know from a breeder stating that, Pearl scale goldfish is not suitable to put in our regular tank . This is because our regular tank is tall in height, therefore Pearl Scale goldfish uses alot of energy to swim up and down. So in order to keep your Pearl Scale goldfish healthy and happy, you can try lowering down the water level or getting a shallow tank for them. *This is purely based on my experience from the experiment I get after trying out few methods to take care of Pearl Scale goldfish. Anyway, great video here!

If lil’ dumpy dies my son is going to be so devastated. Ever night before bed he asks to see videos of lil dumpster, especially the clapping one. Prayers for the little guy 🙏
you are doing great job. At the beginning of the video, I saw little shivers which usually means internal bacteria. Also I see some white poops which usually means some internal issue as well. I would also go for metro with food for that. Metronidazole is not only working for gram negative bacteria, but also kills some protozoa. Did you check his poop under microscope? and slime just in case? Hope he recovers soon :)
Watching you treat your goldfish is very helpful as I keep goldfish too.I have 8 now. Helpful to know what others possible, do just in case. I hope little dumpy gets better too he is so cute!
good to see dumpy getting better. thanks for sharing. there are vids that t others share on put certain medication and will update in another vid on the result but it never happen. your vid is very informative showing the whole progress. Great! Thanks!
Any chance he could have parasites? I had a similar situation were I thought my fish had an infection due to redness near the gills and rubbing against things like yours is. I tried to treat the infection directly but it was unsuccessful, so I did a scale scrape and under the microscope I found flukes which were causing the secondary infection. After I treated the flukes the treatment I'd done for the secondary infection worked. Adding a bit of marine salt can help the fish in the mean time if you need to order any parasites treatments, helps keep the parasites at bay (might not kill them all) but will help the fish feel more comfortable untill you get the parasite medicine.
Do you think he may have gotten infected for when he was scrapping with the other goldfish? Since they removed a big amount of his scales he may have gotten injured and infected through it.
Prayers for him. I am battling fungal and nothing is working. This hobby has both good and bad. At end of the day we just want our fish to live and be happy. 🙏
I don't really know fish immunology, but if it's abscess, the anti antibiotics will treat the bacteria in his blood but the abscess will remain and continue pumping in loose bacteria.

doxycycline is also kinda similar to tetracycline, tho ive just recently known that doxycycline existed. tetracycline is mostly used to treat betta fish with white spots, sometimes goldfish too.
My larger Oranda gal is having similar issue, swim bladder won't seem to go away. It did for a day, I put her back in my regular tank and it came back within a few hours. I honestly think it was from crappy pellet food I gave her late last year when I almost quit the hobby.
I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I’ve always wondered why you don’t have any decor in any of your tanks. I have no desire to get fish as pets I just like watching your videos. I just wanna know if there is a specific reason why you don’t put decor in your tanks
If you notice in the video there's a clip of an orange goldfish that he pulls out some plant material. It broke that off and the fish swallowed it and was choking on it. It might have been real rather then plastic but usually plastic is even worse. They like to rub up against and nibble on things in the tank. It can cause then to loose scales on plastic or hard rock material. Having pebbles can cause them to try and swallow them. This stuff isn't actually important to there overall happiness of the fish. Having other fish and good care is enough.

My other six goldfish are all okay and are 11 years old. Maybe I did something wrong with my Dumpy, unintentionally. I don't really know. I felt so down, I felt like giving the other fish away. My wife didn't let me do so and I am back taking care of my fish. But yeah, never gonna get another ping pong PS goldfish. I hope Lil Dumpy recovers soon and you do not go through what I did.
Ugh... pearlies and their dang illnesses. I love them to death but they are so prone to sickness. Lost one of mine to a similar infection, though I didn't catch it as early as you have with Dumpy. I'm glad he's making improvements! Hopefully he keeps trekking in the right direction
Lost my betta last night. She had a big curious personality. 😢 Same as Dumpy, he's got a big personality too, I hope he wins the fight. It's hard to lose fish. They're so fragile and it's impossible to get rid of that feeling that you could have done something different whenever you lose a fish.

*This is purely based on my experience from the experiment I get after trying out few methods to take care of Pearl Scale goldfish.
Anyway, great video here!
All my prayers for lil dumpy hope that he recovers from his aliment absolutely love the thumbnail.🐟🐟he is very blessed to have luke as his owner.all the best for all the 🐟 fish.
If lil’ dumpy dies my son is going to be so devastated. Ever night before bed he asks to see videos of lil dumpster, especially the clapping one. Prayers for the little guy 🙏
Sending love and well wishes to your small dumptruck
I'm continuing to pray for Lil Dumpy! Hopefully he'll make it out of this okay! Hopefully we can get this sorted out, so Dumpy can get better!
luke : “he never really stopped being hungry”
my mom at the side : “ sounds like you “
Wishing everyone's favorite little dumpster a full recovery!
Prayers for Private Dumpy. 🙏
Still saying positive thoughts and prayers for the lil dumpster. It's so sad to see him like this but he looks much better. You do great, Luke. 👍
Hopefully it clears up. 🥺
Awh not Dumpy!! He dumped right into our hearts 🤍🖤
API products are the best chemicals I've found to treat my tank. but my goldies are so time compared to yours lol. sending good vibes to sir dumpy
I hope Dumpy gets better. You're doing great, Luke. I really appreciate how transparent you are about things like this.
you are doing great job.
Praying for a little dumpy’s recovery he is definitely one of my faves and I love him Luke you are doing a great job taking care of him❤️❤️
Hope Dumpy gets well soon, Lil Dumpy and Bubba are my favourites :( #PrayForDumpy
Watching you treat your goldfish is very helpful as I keep goldfish too.I have 8 now. Helpful to know what others possible, do just in case. I hope little dumpy gets better too he is so cute!
Please keep good care of dumpy
DUMPY NEVER DIES
good to see dumpy getting better. thanks for sharing. there are vids that t others share on put certain medication and will update in another vid on the result but it never happen. your vid is very informative showing the whole progress. Great! Thanks!
Hii, I hope he gets better!
I just lost my goldfish of 5 months, i’ve been watching your channel and it’s been helping. I sure hope Dumpy pulls through!
Noooooo!!! Don’t let Little Dumpy die. :(
Thank you for the update. Hoping Dumpy has a miracle healing ❤️🩹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love the way he just swims into the glass and bounces off
He’s in my prayers, and by the way I like this longer vid
I love Dumpy and I hope he's okay. We all love him so much! I will keep him in my mind until he's all healed.
It Lil Dumpy dies I will cry. I pray to God that Dumpy will no die. You can doit Dumpy! ♥
Prayers for him. I am battling fungal and nothing is working. This hobby has both good and bad. At end of the day we just want our fish to live and be happy. 🙏
I've been waiting too long for Dumpy news:(
Luke, I hope you stay strong regardless of the outcome, everyone here wants Dumpy to live, but if he doesn’t, we will be there for you
He's dead
Sad if dumpy dies he was my favorite fish 😔 these fish have a lot of weight which is a problem for them to stay balanced when swimming.
We have been!!!!!!
I have been so worried about him.
I wanna call Dr. Fish for assistance with Dumpster’s care.
Poor little dumpy
I don't really know fish immunology, but if it's abscess, the anti antibiotics will treat the bacteria in his blood but the abscess will remain and continue pumping in loose bacteria.
Not a vet, but if it's an infection, how he looks like at the end seems like he's gonna be fine.
i was sad when my grandparents goldfish died one died of an infection and i dont know how the other one died anthen they got cats they died aswell one got hit by a car and the other one had a digestion failure and his stomach just bursted or something and he died at the vet
How was one run over by a car?
@@lauranelken1848 if u think the goldfish was run over it was the cat also i think it was just sitting behind a car the car owner didnt see him started reversing but he couldnt move cuz his tail was already trapped
@@Austinifier ok, that makes me sense the a fish being run over ty
doxycycline is also kinda similar to tetracycline, tho ive just recently known that doxycycline existed.
tetracycline is mostly used to treat betta fish with white spots, sometimes goldfish too.
I hope he dosent die =(
Had to watch this in memory of Lil Dumpy. RIP
Oh no
My larger Oranda gal is having similar issue, swim bladder won't seem to go away.
Having other fish and good care is enough.
goldfish to stupid to not ate everything
Lil Dumpy is my favorite sentient ping pong ball! I hope he feels better soon! As cute as it is to watch him to spin around, get well soon little man!!!
I love dumpy
Lil Dumpy is one of my favs I send him prayers and good vibes
I LOVE DUMPY
Had one ping pong pearl scales goldfish. Lived for two years and died of similar issues. It's pretty difficult to treat them once they get sick.
So sad how goldfish have been inbred over the years focusing on appearance not health :(
Hope dumpy gets well!
Same with dogs,
@@bugloverspiderlover8490 ikr
Ugh... pearlies and their dang illnesses. I love them to death but they are so prone to sickness. Lost one of mine to a similar infection, though I didn't catch it as early as you have with Dumpy.
I'm glad he's making improvements! Hopefully he keeps trekking in the right direction
Guys, he's dead
Lost my betta last night. She had a big curious personality. 😢
Same as Dumpy, he's got a big personality too, I hope he wins the fight. It's hard to lose fish. They're so fragile and it's impossible to get rid of that feeling that you could have done something different whenever you lose a fish.
Luke even if he /she dies you will be able to reunite with him after 80 years (if you live that long ) in heaven
I love the thumbnail! Dumpy wears a hat and dual wielding two guns, but he can't really cause fins can't hold guns! But it's still adorable thumbnail!
3 words: Don’t Die Dumpy:(
I'll be praying for lil' Dumpy,I hope with all my heart that he gets better soon, love you Lil'Dumpy!💕💗
I clicked so fast
im watching these out of order, i got worried.
thankfully, the shorts about finding out lil dumpy had parasites and him finally getting better were uploaded AFTER this, phew
best of luck to lil dumpy ^^ get well soon
I hope this isn’t the end.😥I love ❤️ him so much! I have been asking for a golf ball goldfish so I can name him lil dumpling not dumpy. ( dear Dumpy, you got this! Push through like the golf ball you are and you will make thousands happy and Luke happy! You got this!❤️
