The Bhagavad Gita and Sri Aurobindo's " Essays on the Gita " has been my go to every day spiritual reading. His flawless command of English language to communicate the souls evolutionary Ascent and man's lifelong struggle to Transcend the limitations of the body and at the same time practice integral yoga as the very means of harnessing the Divine within thru the very complexities of the gunas that binds man in nature . His powerful abilities to use words, thought, awareness, and consciousness to endlessly take us on ever deepening and profound visions and truths of our own divine essence as eternal, immortal, invisible aspects of God is unmatched to anything I have read .
Forever grateful to your lifetime of commitment to understanding the struggle of man to know God , to know that there is no distance to travel . To know with absolute certainty that wherever one stands is Holy Ground, wherever one goes, God is . Namaste 🙏

Few corrections and facts for the people. He was born simply as "Aurobindo Ghosh".
Thereafter He had numerous spiritual realisations. He became Sri Aurobindo.
The Ashram is known as the "Sri Aurobindo Ashram".

For all the viewers there was no 'Akroyd' word in Sri Aurobindo's name. And He is known as *Sri Aurobindo*. The people who loves respect and pray Him always address as Sri Aurobindo.

Actually his father was a supporter of the British and gave him Akroyd as his first name because he wanted his son to forget India and become British in mind. But when Sri Aurobindo returned to India from England, be fell in love with the spirit of this nation and he gave himself the name Aurobindo, by which we still call him in reverence.

One important aspect of Integral yoga that is not mentioned in this video is the effort of this Yoga to bring the divine in this world as it was the original idea in the Vedas. With the decline of original vedic teachings and human potential the spiritual movement had moved to a more ascetic aspect where the seeker's primarily goal was to dissolve himself in the divine. In vedic times, the Yajna was the key concept by which the Rishi's appeased the forces of nature and raised the spiritual level of the whole geography with them.

Dear friend, thank you so much for this beautiful introduction/offering to Sri Aurobindo. Please correct one factual error : The Mother(Mirra Alfasa) met Sri Aurobindo not in 1912 but on March 29, 1914 and she was not accompanied by her husband.
Moreover, she returned to France in 1915 and not in 1914. She was the force behind Arya, Sri Aurobindo's principal voice for 7 years.

But it is Krishna Bashudeva who mentored him. On 24th November 1926 Krishna descent on his physical body. They became inseparable. Krishna was the Overmental Godhead.

I see many things said wrongly in this video, but the worse for me is at 19:10 (the definition of supramental). I never saw something so far of the thought of Sri Aurobindo and urge for you to show where did you find this knowledge is his writings. In fact Sri Aurobindo says that the age of religion is over and that supramental is something so far from mind that we can never know intellectually. We have to be very careful to state things that are completely opposite and put this as a view of someone, specially if this someone is Sri Aurobindo.

Truth is not one. There is a hierarchy of truths. Both Newton´s and Einstein´s theories are true, applied only at different levels. Similarly mystics can climb from one level of consciousness to another having different experience of Reality. Thus truths can be many. "Earth's winged chimeras are Truth's steeds in Heaven!". A mystic may experience Being and Becoming as separate, whereas another may see both of them as One, depending on the level of consciousness that they are in.

In that time , our society is conservative society so we afraid of losing the purity of women , if she remain unmarried after puberty , but the phylospphy of child marriage here is if she Bound herself with one men she remain pure , so is true for man also , because then we value the chastity most in a woman . The other very important thing is although she gets married she is not allowed to have sex , she actually lives her mother's home and learn household work from mother , then when she became adalt in 18 let's say , she went husband home and do her household duty while the husband provide her and the family food and cloth . If you see Sri Ramakrishna life there also Sri Sarada ma had married at age 5 or 6 but she remain in her mother's home , when she became adalt she came husband home .

If you get tired of pretending and guru worship and want to learn something REAL, try following this rabbit hole. There's no one down there who wants your money, unlike Aurobindo. You also get to kick his butt in just a few weeks if you are serious about it. Even better, there's cartoons down that rabbit hole, so you can see precisely what type of 8000 year old magic from south America is being shown. In a group setting, with dozens doing more than anything ever mentioned by any Yogi or "Buddha". Hinduism is a very modern creation, corrupted by money and cities. Nothing real can withstand greed, unless it's been hiding out from before agriculture was invented. As magic has in south America since the Bering straits froze over, and it came her from Proto-Siberia.

You do know that all mystics would be called schizophrenics by modern psychologists? Science likes to compartmentalize things in boxes, especially the things it fails to understand.
I've a Schizophrenic aunt and a friend, and they can barely function. Whereas Aurobindo was constantly involved in service. He was constantly working. No mentally ill person can translate the Bhagvad Gita as he did. It's one of the best translations available.
