    I can say that I absolutely LOVE my BX23s.
    Bought mine as a package. Loader, backhoe, mind mount mower, box blade, land plane, and brush cutter.
    We bought 5 acres and it need work. Plus the wife hated the land scaping. We have owned our house for about a year and we have had the tractor for 8 months of it. Land scaping is looking great and the areas that needed to be cleaned up and brush cut, is all but completely squared away.
    This little tractor does have it's limitations, but I have not found anything this little tractor can't handle. I have no plans on upgrading.

      Jd lost me when they tried to reopen the proprietary nonsense about owner/operator field repairs violating their proprietary rights to pick your pocket for maintenance. They could fly and I'm stillnot interested in owning equipment built by such callous, souless money grubbers and liars. GM/Ford/Chrysler tried that in the late '60s, early '70s to shut out the home mechanics, independents and shade trees; and that is all JD is really up to. When you call your JD dealer for service on this equipment, you get told that sadly, there is no one available just right now, our tech will be there in 10 or 12 days and you will owe him $500 on arrival- have a check ready. thank you for your business.Screw that and the company it rode in on.

    I'll keep my 25D thank you. The 'upgrades' don't make me want a 23. The additional linkages and complexity adds parts that will fail. The linkage for the loader stand is going to get bent and will jam. The 25D can't have that failure happen. Likewise, the 602 is not removed that often so why would I want the extra complexity of the 'cam system'? Do a little maintenance, wire brush the pins,. lube everything that moves, often, take the time to check the hoses and zerk fitting when you grease them, often, use good lubricants and the only reason you want a new tractor is because you need a bigger one!
    Neil does his usual great job in front of the camera and I believe messicks is a top quality tractor supplier.

    Not sure how anyone can give a thumbs down on this video, as it's informative and very useful. In Australia, just put a new BX23S on order, and had debated whether I should have gone with a second hand 25D to save a few grand. This answered the question perfectly that I made the right choice, given there wasn't that much price in it, as I got a great deal on a new unit, and the second hand hold their value so well, the difference was not that much. Thanks very much for the helpful video!

      Gday mate I’m in the market and have been looking at used 25d’s, but this vid shows some upgrades I’m keen to include in my purchase. If you don’t mind me asking, what did the 23s set you back? Did you also buy the backhoe?
      Cheers, Mark.

    • @rockowallaby9841

      The 23S comes standard with the backhoe. Has a few specific mods, like wider ROPS to allow spinning seat. Only has a 12 month warranty, for some reason. Got it at a VERY good price. With 4 in 1 bucket with extra hydraulics, 3 point hitch and load leveling indicator, under $28K incl GST, which is significantly less than the $35K retail. I couldn't get a second hand low hours 25D for that. Also going the 0.9% comparison finance. Works out 20% deposit, and will cost me only $350 interest over the 3 years of the loan. For that, will keep my money in the bank.

    • @onthemark3480
      @onthemark3480 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks RW.
      It’s ticking all the boxes so far! Yep for 350 interest you’d be silly to use your own coin. I’m off to haggle with the dealers tomorrow!

    • @rockowallaby9841
      @rockowallaby9841 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@onthemark3480 Nods. Keep in mind the 0.9% apparently ends 31st December. You do need to comprehensively insure it to get the finance however, which was a bit of a prick, as my standard home and contents wouldn't do it. Had to hunt around and found comprehensive for $400 from CGU just for the tractor. Could have gotten full farm insurance but not worth it for 9 acres.

    One thing worth mentioning that my dealer told me today ( not sure if it's true but made sense.) The new quick release system of the bx23s weighs about 100lb more so the loader has to work harder just to lift the bucket and can't left as much for this reason. The dealer did mention however he would still get bx23s

      Love Big Green for years- have had three, won't buy another since they starrted spending the money they made on me and others like me to fly a federal lawsuit to back their proprietary right to be the only possible repair option. I know the smaller machines aren't rigged (so far) like this, but I support no company that literally seeks government license to pick my pocket.

      I use a spray called poly lube.
      Wen it dries it leaves a transparent film of lubricant that doesent evaporate ...makes thing easy.
      When all else fails a shot of penetrating oil does the trick.

      So I have the 23s, I ordered the 4 foot snow thrower, drive over mower deck at 48 inches, bucket/12 inch, 4 foot loader, and a 3point hitch. I have the bar type tires and it’s the 23hp 3 cyl. It is 4wd. 30k for all with no interest payments for 5 years. 60 payments at 500$. It’s fully insured as well. I am so glad I got this thing! It’s been a pleasure to use and has functioned year round flawlessly.
      Only down side is the place you purchase it from has to be reputable. The fluid levels and grease joints and cowling knobs must be checked prior to your receiving the tractor. The cowlings on mower deck came loose with in the first mowing and was literally chewed up since they never assembled the locking nuts on them properly. Also the front axle was literally 1.25 quarts low on fluid according to the dipstick (no fluid appeared on it when I received it). So do your due diligence and check the checkers!
