It’s such a shame for the players that it’s got the calamitous mayhem at the BDO looming over it. It’s a disgrace that the BDO can’t announce how much they have scraped together to give the players on the penultimate day of their annual show case event. An event which has been held without supporters, sponsors or credibility due to those responsible for the carnage. The BDO should realise it’s over, they can’t possibly come back from this humiliation.

Mikuru found some her best form. Lisa Ashton appears to be on her way down she is inconsistent. Good contest both ending averages, were the highest for the entire competition for the women mid 80s for both competitors.
I think that's a bit harsh, Lisa has had some great results in the last year, it just didn't happen for her in this match. If Suzuki had played the way she did earlier in the competition, Lisa may still have won but she raised her game and thoroughly deserved it.

Final and semi-final should be longer, the semi-final best of 5 sets and the final best of 7.

If Bazza can get a strong market going for the women, where BDO have failed, they can have their own competitions, earn some decent money and maybe we can have some mixed pairs or similar type comp for a change. Far too many comment on what we have in the here and now, aspects of which have clearly failed the womens game. Lets think a little more forward, Mikuru is the key to a huge market in the far East. Japan is going to go nuts, and it just so happens to be one of the richest nations on the planet. Game on!

@@GretatheEvilGremlin if they put bums on seats and earn the money in the PDC then they could get paid a bit more than they get now. The problem is that the overall standard of the ladies game is not strong enough. Mikuru is a soft tip player from Japan who only took up the game 3 years or so back and she is already a back to back ladies champ. Darts is a gender neutral sport so scrap the ladies game and see how they get on against the men, if they can get through Q school.

The bigger business is in promoting the game and opening up to the next major revenue streams. Mikuru is key to getting a foothold in Japan, she's a ready made star, where Taylor and the rest have tried and tried to crack Japan, and it's not worked to the level it should. Its also no surprise that Fallon goes to the U.S. to work that angle, where even Bristow didn't really succeed in lifting the game's profile. There's a whole new market to open out, women form a good percentage of the audience, and it's growing. Get on board and enjoy the ride.

She can't count very well either, and it doesn't help when a player is about to throw, and she corrects

Because they bring fack all into the game that's why. No one is interested in womens darts or any other womens sport other than tennis,, and even that is propped up by the mens game. When will people realise the product has to be bringing in money and spectators? its ok for people to bang on product and being able to sell etc,, but then demand big prize money for a bunch of women with the charisma of a skid marked pair of underpants,, not to mention they're just not very good and the quality is wa nk ffs. its pathetic.

It was ment to be a world record £20,000 but with rubbish ticket sales etc it was only £8000 to the winner, that's why fallon sherrock pulled out.

Ashton came in as the world's number one and was beaten once again by Suzuki. The shady things the BDO has done makes me think that Hankey may have been correct.

Mikuru was 93= at the start of last year’s competition so she’s improving hihi.
Phil Taylor was rarely ranked number one in the world cause he didnt enter the same number of tournaments that the likes of Colin Lloyd did

The whole event has been a total embarrassment! Standard of darts very poor (apart from the ladies) no atmosphere, poor venue, shit prize money, I think the BDO is finished, should be embarrassed to call the event “world championship”

At least the BDO don't put on rigged finals where the result has already been decided backstage and this was always the original World Championship before the PDC evolved.
Change of venue was forced because the Lakeside had become greedy,O2 was not a great decision however.
As for quality of matches,the first week of the PDC event was just as bad there were some dreadful matches and poor throwing and generally speaking we all better hope that the BDO does not disappear because darts players nationwide need an organisation that caters for their needs at grass roots and county level,the PDC is now all about making a few people wealthy,Premier League is boring,ranking 'Titles' are played for behind closed doors and the 'Worlds' was a farce,too many qualifiers,seeds given a bye in the first round and a final that was obviously fixed to give the PDC maximum publicity .
Nah the BDO just put on finals involving hapless amateurs averaging 75 in 25-dart legs in half-empty arenas and prizemoney that probably doesn't even cover the players' hotel and flights!

So because Wright played well and MVG didn't, that makes it a fix? Two years ago MVG lost a world semi-final to a 1-year professional who'd never even played at the WC before. The same guy then thrashed Taylor in the final. That a fix too?

@@christopherfranklin972 Mason is an ex-pro who played in the BDO for a number of years and has commentated on their events in the past, so why shouldn't he have an opinion? Mason has also done some shilling for the BDO in the past when it suited him.
The BDO do invite a lot of the flak they get, not only with their comical ineptness, but kidding themselves that their event is a "world professional" and that the jobbers and part-timers involved are "world class". And all the BDO defenders can respond with is tin foil hat type stuff about the PDC being fixed with rigged averages, shorter oches and whatever else. They'd be better off not even attempting to compete with the PDC and instead just focusing on a being a home for the amateurs and semi-pros.
So your evidence of a fix is that there's money involved in sport and therefore it must have been a fix? What exactly would Hearn have to gain from Fester losing to Wright? Every ticket had already been sold, every big PDC tourney will be sold out this year no matter who the world champ is. So yes if you think the only way the world #7 could possibly beat the world #1 is via a fix then that does seem rather paranoid.
