Great techniques and precision joining method...The only drawback is that it is too time consuming, and complex. If there is any mismatch in the beginning the end result will be a disaster.

That's not my concern. This process can easily be automated by a circular saw and with absolute precision every time. What makes this a poor idea is its weakness. When using wooden nails anyway, it would be wiser to connect the two horizontal pieces with 45' cuts and with a huge wooden nail with a diameter of 1". Then connect the leg with another wooden nail. Any natural glue would do just fine. (I presume naturalism is the theme here since he has not allowed himself to do the "Ikea-method".
