Looked like U had the "POISON" that day.U was outfishing the other guy by 6-8 to 1!! it's great how them Sheephead will spit a barbless,ain't it!!! My first love,will always be commercial fishing.No matter how many thousands of fish i catch,EVERY nibble and hookset,to me,still feels like the first one. I guess when a feller looses that feeling, his fishing days are through...Keep fightin the good fight pard. Jeff
ok i'm confused sheep head in the great lake are what we call drum in missouri because of the sound they make. but it looks like your fishing in salt water for sheep head are they all the same fish or a different species?

i commercial fished here in Florida for 20 years,and the game and fish put me out of my job with stiffer laws and letting the sport fishers raid my traps then fine me when they hooked the hook back in the wire and not in the juit,they would also fish buy my traps and when they would get hooked in it they would pull it up and stomp it flat!the game and fish said it was not their job to baby sit my traps,and i asked them then what the F do you do,just write me fines?but they have no idea what's up
@allen3200 yep they send out guys that don't know how to fish and just because they can't get a hook into anything they think there's no fish and need to tighten the fishing laws!i live in florida and commercial fished most of my young life till they just ran me out with their laws and not helping keep sports out of my traps!it sucks when you pull up a trap and a sport fisher has stomped it flat because he was fishing to close to it and hooked the line.
My guess would be hooks with mashed down barbs and pieces of squid.(wink-wink)I dunno how bad the "scientists" have beaten y'all up, over there but, they all but put an END to fishin here, in Florida!! I guess we'll have to learn to be STREET THUGS to pay the rent and for food. That or get on relief!! :-(

you almost seem to have a easier time with the cane pole than the rod and reel, did the fish go deep, forcing you to use the reel?

What were you using for bait? What size and style hook? We use fiddlers up here in SC, and sometimes small pieces of shrimp or clams. Great video!
@111fishkiller Hello there I fish Florida too Its very sad what has happened to the fishermen there. We are using shrimp for bait it works better.
