    Thank you for your information. I am doing a lot of research before moving to the Netherlands in June. I’m afraid because it’s a leap but it’s a leap I’m willing to take. I appreciate your input and outlook. Thank you again.

    I'm 72 years old and I'm still able to dance techno, house, drum & bass, disco etc. every weekend, after midnight. All youngsters (men & women) in the club are happy to see there, praise my dancing and are utmost friendly towards me. That makes me the happiest man in the world. Many told me that it makes them happy to see me dancing, so I contribute also to the happiness of other people too.

    Very important is to know what makes YOU happy. In the Netherlands people probably use more the principle : If I make myself happy I will be a nicer person to others. In respect of wealth: I do think Dutchies do not have to swim in money but they like to get their feet wet 😜 Most of us are content if they don’t have to worry a out spending money on life’s necessities

    Happiness is dependent on your expectations in life. If you expect a lot more than you can afford you will never be happy.

      I was thinking about the coating residu on the prints causing the fastbooks to get dirty and causing extra maintenance. Everybody is looking at the coating on top of the print but I think it's residu on the backside of the paper that causing the pollution. So not the topside of the paper. Just give it a thought and maybe talk to Robert about it.

    Uhmm, you really make some mistakes in logic. I do tend to agree with you that this report has a very weird operalisation of "happiness". But, you can't say that individual happiness counts in this report. That is not the scope of the report. It wants to measure average happiness of peoples, not of individuals. Although your thinking is good and I agree, it is misplaced here. And the keeping up with the Joneses and the tenacity is sort of being measured in the report, in "freedom to make life's choices". Again you propose a very different research. I found your analysis about people who do not want to please other people being happier. I thought about that, and I don't agree, I think. Imagine a country full of egoists.... Horrible to live in! But... I am critical of the report, It is a good research, based on incomplete premises regarding happiness. We agree on that. I would have liked to see other indicators, like prevalences of alcohol abuse, drug abuse prevalence, home violence, criminal behavior, mental health issues, voluntary work, etc.

      @wout123100 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, i am not to sure about their measurement system too, but it is not at all a bad overview. it is statistics, and you cannot apply that to the individual. thats why quite a few will not agree.
