Don't worry about being short. I'm 5'7", I was an Infantry soldier in the Army for 11 years. (out due to injuries). One thing I learned is that smaller guys could get through smaller spaces in urban combat, and move through the woods easier, Generally have less overuse injuries too. All that made me proud a smaller guy.
Love the Pilot!!! But why is there sim's music? The Pilot is so sophisticated and elegant and awesome! I have one and its great! I get 22 MPG (2WD) and its awesome!!!!
For a 2010 4wd Pilot with A/C running during the summer, we get 14/15 mpg around town (hilly local area). Great engineering; not so great gas mileage regretfully.
The new grill looks nice, family leased one and the car looks pretty sleek, idk why people think the older ones looked better, those ones were so generic and boring, this one stands out and i like that. Only problem is the trunk space
I was very sceptic buying this car... maybe it doesn't look so great but this is a awesome car for big family. we have a 2 kids and 2 big dogs and we are able to fit our crew in this car with no problem. also it does't feel like you drive huge suv, it is pretty fast in corners. ohhh! gas milage is actually better then they say! 3rd row is full functional, not like toyota four runner (it was my 2nd choice).
One question: How's the road insulation on this thing? From my experience, Hondas tend to cheap out on the insulation (perhaps in sake of fuel economy?) but this is a big, heavy and expensive SUV. Is it quiet?
@chigasaki06 We have the Passat TDI on the schedule in about a month. No word on when the new Boxster is going to be in the press fleet. -Charlie@RoadflyTV
@BCCHSMD I actually really like the CX-9 and it was the best choice when it first came out. It could use some updating. It's definitely the sportiest of the group. -Charlie@RoadflyTV
Let's just say all cars look big next to Ross. Of course, all cars look big next to Tom Cruise, too. Ergo, Ross = Tom Cruise. Good job on the review, Maverick!
@cheesepie1011 Better because of quality & dependability. In quality Honda only gets beat by Toyota. We do have the updated Flex on our schedule in a week or two. -Charlie@RoadflyTV
@khunt2011 The Tahoe has incredible engine options. It's definitely not sluggish. QX is down right fast! But neither are in the same segment as the Pilot. -Charlie@RoadflyTV
@TheKidNamedRoland Idiot I meant turbocharged inline 4 cars offer more power and are fuel efficient. The truth is, The pilot is a great car but still is behind engine wise. Hyundai and chevy/caddy even ford offer 4cy turbos that tops over 260hp.
Honda really needs to hurry and bring Direct injection engines, I think it will boost hp output and torque since their competitors are already doing the same already outclassing in driving dynamics and refinement from DI. Hopefully the next generation gets a new engine which will increase fuel economy too
Engine technology they are behind, Honda ignores it"s cars like Toyota, outdated old school engines while other car makers are getting efficient with more power. 3.5 L V6 with 250hp??? you gotta be kidding me.2.0l i4's get that amount of power, actually better power and torque as well.
@select20 You are absolutely right! Smaller (or shorter would sound more tactful) men are more suitable for combat in moutains. Recent reports from Aghanistan (a failed, retarded country) suggests as well. It is also in Operetion Red Wing of Lone Survivor mentioned. So dont worry Ross.
Looks like a capable 'Campground Cruiser". Kind of a sterile looking soul-less interior though for my money. And don't get me started on it's lack of styling. Functional, yes. But then so is a refrigerator, but you won't catch me driving one. ;-) Just my opinion, so nobody get their knickers in a knot over this ok? Peace.

I love driving the 12 Pilot. Very smooth drive in this vehicle and the steering is impeccable.
the pilot is one of the better hondas on the market because it sticks to what honda does best: reliable, dependable, and practical
There are so many Honda and Toyota haters around I really want to buy these cars.
i can agree with you on the back row. i am also 5'7" and i was quite comfortable in the back.
Happy Birthday Ross.
Keep it up Ross, best reviewer for Roadfly, hands down.
Good car my mom bought this car a year around 6 years ago and she didn’t get any problems with it except the battery.
Ross, you opened my eyes to this vehicle as well as yourself. It certain
Love the Pilot!!! But why is there sim's music? The Pilot is so sophisticated and elegant and awesome! I have one and its great! I get 22 MPG (2WD) and its awesome!!!!
Of course Ross would be testing the Honda!
I love my 2011, but I only got a 2WD. Great fit and finish and i love Honda's attention to detail.
@nature10879 ur i4 is turbocharged, which feeds on premium fuel, this one is not charged and uses regular fuel
I really want to know what it gets in km to a tank roughly like 700 or 850km from full to empty
@roadflytv I didn't realize that the 2013 Flex was out yet, but i can't wait the Flex is in my top 5!
For a 2010 4wd Pilot with A/C running during the summer, we get 14/15 mpg around town (hilly local area). Great engineering; not so great gas mileage regretfully.

@roadflytv great review. How do you guys think this stacks up to the CX-9?
I was very sceptic buying this car... maybe it doesn't look so great but this is a awesome car for big family. we have a 2 kids and 2 big dogs and we are able to fit our crew in this car with no problem. also it does't feel like you drive huge suv, it is pretty fast in corners. ohhh! gas milage is actually better then they say! 3rd row is full functional, not like toyota four runner (it was my 2nd choice).
Wow those windows seem small and holy high cowl! Can you even see out of it?
Pilot fits 8 people and a lot of tech for its price. The MPG is better as well than and other SUV.
One question: How's the road insulation on this thing? From my experience, Hondas tend to cheap out on the insulation (perhaps in sake of fuel economy?) but this is a big, heavy and expensive SUV. Is it quiet?
I honestly like the 1st generation Pilot more than the current generation Pilot. I hope the next generation will be better.
I like the Pathfinder or Murano.
Which of these would be in it's immediate segment ?
it actually gives me 19.5 to 21 mpg avg depending on whether i get out of my house early or late :)
Please test drive the new porche boxter S, and the VW Passat.
yea on a bad day my average is 22.8 mpg best so far with my lead foot 24 mpg
@roadflytv What do you mean by QUALITY?Material of interior or reliability?Tnx
Is it bad that I watch these videos just to see Ross??
Can you guys do a review and test drive of a 2009-2012 BMW X5 35d (diesel) that would be awesome.
@garojanhotmail Good question. I use the word quality as a synonym for reliability and dependability.
-Charlie@RoadflyTV
I heard the wheelbase has been stretched like the new upcoming MDX.
Hey Ross, would you say the Pilot is a better buy than a Dodge Durango or a Ford Flex?
Lets hope they get it together by then...
They should put a " Baby On Board" sign when Ross sits in the back seats.
that center stack is horrible? how many buttons can you get?
@chigasaki06 We have the Passat TDI on the schedule in about a month. No word on when the new Boxster is going to be in the press fleet.
-Charlie@RoadflyTV
the people that live in the south don't need 4wd. that is why the new 3rd generation MDX will have a 2WD model option.
Very nice review
Good job Ross
Imo id Rather choose choose the Toyota highlander limited or wait for the new pathfinder and see what happens...
hey ross, is it fast or preppy?
I have honda pilot 2012 full option its really good and comfortable car ans low noise and strong and good for off road way
This is still a second generation. It was just a updated refresh. expect a 3rd generation by 2014
@roadflytv The reason I compared the three is because Ross said the Pilot is a TWEENER.
I really hope with 40k Pilet Touring, it should equip with HID.
@kim8248 thats because Ross is small. The dude is like 5'6".
@BCCHSMD I actually really like the CX-9 and it was the best choice when it first came out. It could use some updating. It's definitely the sportiest of the group.
-Charlie@RoadflyTV
I'm waiting on the 3rd gen!
@nature10879 name me one unturbocharged i4 that gets 250hp? no car has that even when not turboed
I'm only 5 inches on a best day.. damn ross you biggggg dawgg
Actually the 2012 Pilot 4WD gets 17/24 instead of 16/22 like you said!
Let's just say all cars look big next to Ross. Of course, all cars look big next to Tom Cruise, too. Ergo, Ross = Tom Cruise. Good job on the review, Maverick!
Yeah, I remember this Civic Si review - time is passing by fast. All I can say - Ross - shave your head bold!!! :-)
Love interior
i love Honda. i plan to own one!
@cheesepie1011 Better because of quality & dependability. In quality Honda only gets beat by Toyota. We do have the updated Flex on our schedule in a week or two.
-Charlie@RoadflyTV
@select20 Yeah - smaller infantry is harder to shoot :)
The MPG estimates are 17/24, not 16/22 that was the old Pilot!
@khunt2011 The Tahoe has incredible engine options. It's definitely not sluggish. QX is down right fast! But neither are in the same segment as the Pilot.
-Charlie@RoadflyTV
now that's what you call a brother from another mother
There's no way he's 5'7, he looks much shorter than that.
he looks like a kid beside that huge suv
@TheKidNamedRoland Idiot I meant turbocharged inline 4 cars offer more power and are fuel efficient. The truth is, The pilot is a great car but still is behind engine wise. Hyundai and chevy/caddy even ford offer 4cy turbos that tops over 260hp.
nice car.
what the hell kind of elevator music was that in the background? Charlie, that was terrible.
@xoquixxoqafxo most of the 2011 n prior owners complain they dont get close to the epa estimate
It looks less like a fridge and more like a washing machine. :)
Honda really needs to hurry and bring Direct injection engines, I think it will boost hp output and torque since their competitors are already doing the same already outclassing in driving dynamics and refinement from DI. Liked the review, but the music was really bad. I would prefer no music to having to listen to that.
@bb996: Be nice. The sign should read, "Hottie On Board".
No. He's pretty cool, in a geeky way.
I like ,but I don't have enough money ! Yes Sir,Mr Honda.
Man Honda got rid of the projector lights? Lame...
Awesome review Ross. Please lose the atrocious background music :)
Their mini vans are Hot also.
Wheeee Man!!!
ONLY 16 mpg in city? that's a little dissapointing. Especially since the bigger minivan gets like 19 mpg/city, uuuugh!
Landcruiser, enough said.
Still don't like the styling. The first generation looks a lot better & is also faster & better finished inside.
So is Ross' other job being a professional smuggler? He's always talking about places he can hide stuff.
The pilot is just a lifted awd odyssey minivan
are you sure about that?
car manufacterers stoped using HALLOGEN lights aggggeeeeessssss ago!!!!come on HONDA i know you can do better than that
Short dude..lol Nice review
Looks like a capable 'Campground Cruiser". Kind of a sterile looking soul-less interior though for my money. And don't get me started on it's lack of styling. Functional, yes. HULK515 lmfaoooooooo..... I know the feeling 😂😂😂🙈
Its a family wagon........maybe you drive like a girl too
Jesus Ross, 5'7" 31inch inseem? same here. We might be twins. Except... you know, I'm black.
So then we can't hear the reviewer talk? And I'm the idiot?
I will watch anything that Ross reviews, even porn
@select20
Yes like Messi:)...
The Tahoe is kinda SLUGGISH, I rather the Pilot or Qx56 ! IMO !
Land Yacht :-)
the exterior is a mess. come on! honda is known for good looking car.
@xoquixxoqafxo yup!
@select20
