Az my home for 64 years , i have bow hunted all over the south west ... My time now is mostly spent watching videos like yours ... All my life long hunting buddies have passed away ..my health is not good enough to do the desert pack alone hunts anymore ...great job sticking with it
Man, thanks for watching and the kind words Robert. Sorry to hear about your health and hunting buddies. Sounds like you have a lot of adventures to reflect back on from all of those years of bowhunting. I'm sure you've got more than a few gem stories. Thanks again Robert.
Really enjoyed this film. Nice job, great storyline and a good reminder of things that are important in life. One line that caught my attention was life moves fast and if you’re not careful you can blink and it will be over. Thinking in terms of the eternal verses what our time on this earth is, temporal. Living this life like there is no eternal consequence is in the same thought as what you were trying to convey while living in the temporal. We need to take time while we are out in those created spaces to think those thoughts out, then act on them. Blessings and happy New Years!!
Ive been bow hunting for almost 30 years in new England , the past four seasons I’ve been using a cross bow due to a neck injury. Watching you hunt this hard with a compound makes me miss my mathews! Great content! Im a new subscriber! Awesome channel
lol, the first 25-30 years I lived out of my truck on many a hunt. Looking back those were some great times. Congrats on a great time and the buck! Sweet! 👍👍🔥
Awesome stuff man. I am a Texan born and bred. I have had success out there and it’s an extremely awesome place. I love the desert and all it has to offer. You are a great story teller. Thanks for sharing.
I am an Arizona Resident also. I also bought a PSE Omen about the time you did. I have property in Eastern Oklahoma and my son and I both shot a buck there. I was lucky and shot a 9pt with a bunch of junk around his bases. He was nearly 8 yrs old. I giant in my eyes. Have yet to get the mount or measure him. It is truly something when it all comes together. Blessed we all are to get to enjoy this! Thanks for sharing your story with us!
Great hunt Josh. Kinda reminds me of my Blacktail adventures. We are so honored to hunt these majestic masters of the landscape. Way to keep on truckin!
Blacktail are so awesome! I joined on a blacktail hunt last year and they remind me a lot of coues deer, just bigger. It's an honor for sure. Thanks for watching!
I've been waiting for this film since you posted about this hunt on IG. Congrats again Josh and excellent film as always. Living vicariously through you until I can get out to AZ to try this for myself. 👍
Just came across your channel. Great film. Really appreciate the work you put into it. Never hunted Coues deer but I cut my teeth on alpine archery mule deer. Congratulations on a great buck!
Awesome buck there brother. Speaking of brother I am glad that you got to spend six days chasing Coues 🦌 with your brother. I cherish any moment that I can hunt with family. Congratulations on a great start to 2024, hopefully 🤞🏻 it continues especially starting with archery 🏹 spring bear 🐻
Josh, loved the film! Loved the three tips! Totally appreciated your transparency because too many people think top tier hunters like you are perfect. You have ups and downs like the rest of us! Last, love the car camp setup! I do the same thing when I want to stay mobile! That front seat ain't bad.😂
Thanks guys! What a killer hunt. I love that January season so much and it was so nice having my brother along for the ride. Good luck out there fellas. 👊🏼
So sick man! Did my first archery coues hunting this January after a lot of information and inspiration from your content. Great film making as always!
Once I get the Inspire device to let me sleep without needing a cpap Coues deer are one of the first critters I want to switch up to hunt. I fully expect many close calls before success with my recurve, but the trophy is the adventure rather than the filled tag.
I don't really let miles be a barrier with coues. They're small, haha. Sometimes I pack in 1 mile. Other times I pack in 8. It depends on where I think the best hunting is as well as where water is.
I tell people all the time that I truly believe spot and stalk coues is the hardest hunt out there. Great buck and awesome film man!! 🔥
Thank you Steven! They are pretty amazing. Nothing like spot and stalk coues. Hope you have a good year man.
nothing beats a coues hunt. my best memories hunting are with my brothers and dad. love those animals.
That's the truth right there. Amazing little deer. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for watching the film. 👊🏼
Great job never giving up! Not to mention a great deer and film. Hopefully you get to go bear hunting next and produce another great film.
Thanks for watching! Fun looking back on this one. Actually going bear hunting VERY soon. 😎

Recurve would be EPIC! 🙌
What bino tripod is that. I love it
That is the Vortex Summit Carbon II tripod, Sirui VA-5 pan head, and Vortex 10x42 Razor UHD binos.
Love it
Thanks Joel!
How far are you packing in to your area? And does anyone try rattling in deer here in AZ?
I don't really let miles be a barrier with coues. They're small, haha. Sometimes I pack in 1 mile. Other times I pack in 8. It depends on where I think the best hunting is as well as where water is.
As far as rattling goes, I have heard of some folks rattling in coues deer, but I don't think it's a tactic most use.
Dang, y'all pick-up camp and carry it with you each day?! Big ol packs for each days hunt!! 😂 Cool content!
Thanks! We're typically carrying camp into an area, setting up, and then we'll satellite out from there. Backpack hunting is awesome!
What tripod/mount/bino setup are you using at 18:54
That would be the Vortex Summit Carbon II tripod, Sirui VA-5 head, and Vortex 10x42 Razor UHD bino.
@@DialedinHunter Still your preferred set up?
People ask me if I’m you all the time. We look just like each other. I hunt south east Az also. Brother
Haha! That's too funny. Maybe we'll run into one another someday and twin it in the hills together.
