We love hiking and camping with our dogs and playing in the waters of lakes and streams is one of Apollo's and Heidi's favorite pass-time in the summer.
I have been searching for a way to test waters for Blue Green Algae and came across the 5 Strands self test.
In this video, I show you how we use the test in real life situations and review both a positive and negative test we got. We also give our honest review of the ease of use for the test and have a few suggestions on how to make the test a little more accessible for your outdoor adventures.
We also share some tips on how to assess the water conditions and check for signs of blue green algae blooms.
We highly recommend you do your own research and check with local authorities such as local Game and Fish or Ranger Department, before you go to recreation areas with lakes or streams.
Blue Green Algae is a real danger to dogs, and should not be taken lightly. When in doubt: STAY OUT!

I have a small.pond in my back yard...i have two kiddy pools in keep clean but they still go into that damn pond. Im getting this cause i am totally scared about it because its rampant in my area.
