You have been to Bavaria. Not every German is Bavarian. The food and local dresses (if worn) are very different depending on the region.

This is Bavarian food. Of course, that makes it German food as well, but it s a southern regional aspect to it.

We all know why the one Scotsman laughs because of the handling of the white sausage ... we know, friend.
By the way: This was NOT typical German food, but typical Bavarian food.
In Cologne you will get typical North-Rhine food. Very different from Bavaria.

Typical Bavarian food, by the way, does not only comprise the food eaten here, but much more! It was obvious that you don't know much about Bavarian food. And "North-Rhine" food is certainly not better than Bavarian food. And white sausages are simply excellent and contain first-class ingredients.

For me, as a German who was born in Hesse and lives in Berlin, there is nothing worse than when we Germans are portrayed abroad as if Germany, with its 16 federal states, only consisted of Bavaria. I just find it very regrettable. Just write "Bavarian cuisine" and not German cuisine!

That was quite funny and for me, being german (NRW), I expected the two scottish laddies to like it lots!
Must say, I assume, that the waiter in the Inn or Pub didn`t exactly sound german/ bavarian!
By his accent, I reckon he is of east european origin!
I think, the waiter was talking about the special way eating a "Weiß-Wurst" (white sausage) and the Bavarians call that "Zutzeln", pronounced "tsutseln"!

Oh my gosh, aren't you embarrassed about posting dumb stuff like this? No, obviously not - we can tell that you are from one of several more Northern regions in Germany being famous for their less than average educational systems (as everyone knows). Thus: Your comment does not come as a surprise.
For your info: Bavaria is one of Germany's most important countries, finances half of Germany (in particular the Northern and Eastern states, e.g. Berlin). Bavarians are proud of considering themselves Bavarians first, Germans only second. Moreover Bavaria is the most popular German state for tourists from Germany as well as abroad. The typical stereotypes about Germans abroad (stiff, cold, reserved, boring, etc etc) are certainly not Bavarian ones. The majority of Bavarians are friendly, open, welcoming, relaxed, fun to be with and they love to celebrate.
The Austrians, the Swish and the South Tyroleans are known to - absolutely - not love the Germans, but they certainly like the Bavarians. Of course all these facts create envy and a nasty, stupid attitude among those Germans who obviously suffer from certain inferiority complexes and a mediocre educational system - and who don't know much about Bavaria at all. And: The food shown here is good food, but typical Bavarian food comprises much more. E.g. sausage salads are also eaten in Austria and Switzerland and most likely in other parts of Germany, too..

To say ...It´s not German it´s Bavarian...which some here do is as stupid as like to say "It´s not British it is Welsh" as if Wales is not part of Britain.. ....What´s next? It´s not German it is Hessian, or Saxon, or Thuringian, or Prussian or what?
Guess what German guys here in the comment section ...apparently you don´t know at all but it´s not only Germany which does have different tribal rooted sub cultures within its borders but every single bigger country on the planet does.
