Hey Mark, I was driving to work at literally 9.01am yesterday and my local Dublin radio station Newstalk 106fm was talking about tourists to Ireland loving the Irish Breakfast. Next thing the presenter played a clip of you talking about the Irish Breakfast, taken from your Ireland vlogs.....! Royalty time!!

Armature Works is really good to eat at in downtown Tampa, also Frenchy's Rock away Grill is AMAZING its my favorite restaurant on the beach and I've been living here my whole life definitely best place to go on the beach. Another thing is don't get worried that theirs a lot of elderly people here us younger locals exist too! A lightning game is great to go to if you haven't watched hockey before or even a buccaneers game it's a great stadium because it provides good fan interaction with the pirate ship and if you have younger ones with you and they don't like loud noises make sure to bring ear plugs or headphones. Best times to visit Orlando area a little after Christmas break because its very packed at Disney and Halloween time. Universal is my favorite in Orlando and Busch gardens has got to be my favorite in Tampa. Also if your going toward pasco county watch out for gators and other critters because theirs many lakes. ALSO DONT DRIVE SLOW WE HAVE TO GET TO WORK!

When I went to Tampa I got hungry like around 9pm went to ybor to a Cuban restaurant that opens late. When we were about to go in. I saw a guy hiding in the bushes I thought he was friends with the guy that was getting out the restaurant than I saw him knock the guy out by chocking him it was scary.

Loved the video Mark but must say RIP to my fellow headphone users lol, definitely had some windy conditions there! Also about the Cuban sandwich I must say yum, there's a sandwich shop here in Murray KY that is owned and operated by a Cuban immigrant and every time we go there I HAVE to get a small Cuban, the only thing is he doesn't put salami or mustard on it (which I am extremely glad for, don't like either of those things lol) but he does roast his own ham and pork (as well as the meats for his other sandwiches). You can taste the difference made by the fact that everything is freshly roasted and homemade. The place is called Victor's Sandwiches (www.victorssandwiches.com is their site) and if ever in the Murray KY area you HAVE to try them!

As a native Floridian, always try the gator. lol I go to Tampa several times a year. Honestly didn't know they had such "great" food. The deviled crab sounds awesome. Also. One of my personal favorite places to eat when in Tampa is at Eddie and Sam's. It's an NYC style pizza joint and they import their water from NYC for their dough. It's SO good and they have good deals too. They also have a gelato bar attached with some great flavors. If you're ever in the downtown area near the Aquarium or the Convention center, definitely make the short trip to Eddie and Sam's. :)

They do not import their water. They treat it. It doesn't sound as good and New Yorkers wont praise this pizza place if that were to ever get out, but I know the guy who was asked to treat water for them. There's no way they have prime downtown real estate, closing as early as they do, while importing water from NY, and still charging less than $5 a slice.
      And it's incredibly overrated.

I'd suggest heading about 45 minutes south to Sarasota as well. Top eating spots:
    1. Lucky Pelican - the buffalo calamari is probably the best anywhere. The Swordfish cannot be passed up.
    2. Phillippi Creek Restaurant and Oyster bar. There's really nothing bad and yes the Gator is excellent.
    3. Daiquiri Deck. There's one on St. Armand's Key and one on Siesta Key. If for nothing else...go for the daiquiris! There is nothing better than after spending an afternoon on one of the whitest sand beaches in the world, going and grabbing a daiquiri!

If you're in Tampa near the stadium then go to La Teresita, on Columbus Avenue, and eat at the lunch counter. It's on the opposite side of the building from the sit down restaurant. The cuisine is typical Cuban, the food is good, it's cheap, it's fast, it's open 24 hours, and the place is a Tampa institution. I've met the mayor there, the Fire Chief, the Chief of Police, and several City Council members.

If you go to Tampa, go to Pepitos after hours! It’s good late night Columbian food, Seminole heights is sort of a bad area but it’s getting better with the more restaurants and bars they’re opening good food there, Hanks BBQ is goood especially their gator bites, in the USF area/Bush Gardens there’s a lot of Carribean food there’s Mr.Dunderback awesome German spot with great beer and a great environment I love going there, never ate at Ybor but there’s some good beer there, if you stay til night time you can see just how weird ybor is but it’s got charm if you’re hanging out during the day.

Hi Mark, here is a suggestion for a video that would help when visiting the US. Once you made a video about how is to rent a car in Europe and what's important to know about it and would be nice to do the same for those how visit USA.
    Cheers from Portugal.

    • @notthegoatseguy
      @notthegoatseguy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

For a lot of countries, an International Driver's License will be needed to drive here. They are only good for one year. In the US, you can get them from roadside assistance companies like AAA (Triple A). I would imagine Europe would have something similar.
In the US, automatic is the standard rather than manual transmission. I'm not even sure if most rental car companies will have manual transmissions available.
In most cities, rental car facilities will be spread throughout the city but the rates are going to be the best at the airport. Sometimes dragging yourself to the airport (just like in Europe, the airports are usually on the edge of town) isn't convenient but if it is, try to get it from there.
Renting a car at the airport in most of the country, for a small "economy" sized car (4 seater, might only have two doors, enough trunk space for luggage of two or if you are really light packers,3-4), is going to set you back about $20-30 a day + taxes and fees. You can upgrade as needed
Generally you're expected to return the car with a full tank of gas. The airport will often have an (overpriced) gas station on airport property. Lately many rental car agencies will let you pre-pay for a full tank at the time you pick the car up and it'll only be a few cents above the standard market rate. So in that case, you can return the car as close to empty as possible. But you have to specifically ask for this service. If you return the car on near empty AND you didn't sign up for the pre-set rate, they'll charge you an outlandish amount.
One thing I would note is toll roads in the US.
Increasingly, many states and cities with tolls have moved away from manned toll booths and use electronic tolls where they take a picture of your license plate and send you a bill in the mail. Rental car companies know this happens so if you get hit with an electronic toll, you get enrolled in their "Toll Club". Basically you have to pay $5 a day for the length of your journey + the toll. It sucks. If you do get hit with tolls, try to pay it at the booth. Google Maps also has a "avoid tolls" option.
Public transit in the US generally sucks but if you are going to a city with a great transit system like Boston or DC or Chicago, you can pretty easily drive there, drop the car off at the rental place, then use public transit while in the city. And go get a new rental when you're ready to leave.
Hope that helps. I'm planing a trip to Europe this year and am floored with how cheap airline tickets are. Similarly, when you come here, you'll quickly understand why the US is so car-centric because it really is cheap to drive nearly everywhere even for long distances.

My husband proclaimed the Cuban at The Floridian on Kennedy as the best sandwich he has ever had. Also, go to Big Ray’s Fish Camp on Interbay Blvd. The seafood is delicious, and the topping on their fries is something special,

Many years ago, as an over eager teen, Clearwater blessed me with the WORST sunburn of my life! The hotel staff were very helpful in giving tips on alleviating the terrible initial pain.

My sister lived in Tampa for a while... Ybor City = PARTAAAYY!! (And yeah - grouper is served EVERYWHERE on the Gulf coast. I never liked gator though. I found it tough.)

Having vacationed in the Tampa area for 20 years, there are many good places to eat. Try Costa's in Tarpon Springs for authentic and good Greek food. It's one block south of Dodecanessa and just behind the Greek village shopping center where the boat is the centerpiece. Also, try Crabby Bill's ( featured on Food Network) in Indian Rocks Beach for smoked fish spread, shrimp and other seafood. Not far from Crabby Bills is P.J.'s. They also have good sea food. Go to Treasure Island to Sloppy Joe's near the Bil-Mar Resort. Those are just some of the many good restaurants along the beach.
