The R2 is nice and everything, but THIS is the size car I want and is what's ridiculously underrepresented on American roads. Not everyone needs a car big enough for themselves and 20 of their best friends on a daily basis.
Rivian has the best designers of any of the EV companies. Really tasteful. Their first cars were around 100k so not competitive at all. We shall see if they are capable of being a mass-market producer. Love the fabric interior; i hate plastic.
@@markplott4820 Rivian has microscopic output so far. A neighbor has one; they like it. It is so very hard to build a good supply chain. One missing part and your vehicle can't be assembled. It doesn't look great for Rivian, but i hope they make it because competition is good. The R3 is really nice looking.
It reminds me of a more modern, updated version of the rugged old Lada Niva from the Soviet Union days! I mean that as a compliment; I’ve always admired the proportions and simplicity of the original Niva. I was in Tbilisi Georgia recently and I spotted a dark blue Niva that I fell in love with…wanted to buy it and take it home, stick one of those GM 3800 engines in it…
BRIAN! Now this channel is a success. You know you made it when Brian is on your channel. He is the second biggest get in the industry. Elon, then Brian, then Ellie! This channel is really taking off! Great job!
Very handsome design - bold without looking obnoxious. And a hint of femininity that makes the car inviting. Best looking EV for under $20k I've seen to date. Plus one thousand miles between charges. I hope I heard everything correctly as the Interior Design Engineer was a bit muffled by not having a mic (you'd think Rivian could afford a cordless bluetooth microphone). Brian and John were the stars of this video!
Rivian loses over 33k per unit 3+years after starting up vehicle production, and those vehicle's are sold with an asp over 93k. And you fools believe this will somehow come to market under 30k in 2027 and rivian will also survive to launch it? 😂🤚 Forbes says rivian has burned up over $20,000,000,000 since 2019! Or as much as tesla has raised in total! Back out their debts and rivian is bankrupt right now. As is they have 2+ more quarters of funding runway until being Flat broke! And who knows if vag survives to pay out the whole $5,000,000,000 which has many seperate contingencies that rivian is already counting on to survive until the mid 2026 r2 launch?
Here in Duluth MN people up here drive Subarus because of snow and gravel back roads. If the price comes down to the low 40’s to mid 30’s I could see them selling a lot of R3 and R2s up here. I already see quite a few R1Ss and a R3 would be a great Impreza replacement.
@@markplott4820Bro you’re in every comment. Clearly Rivian is living rent-free in your head. Stop glazing Tesla lil’ fella. Elon isn’t gonna come kiss you

I think that sometimes and other times they still make me smile. Rivian has a very different style. I like the truck but do not like the large or this smaller SUV (today! I won’t be surprised if seeing in person has my opinion change)
UHHH So this is the Model 3, but the Model 2 will be released first? So is the Model 2 at the show? I don't understand why Rivian would show a Model 3 before the Model 2. Just doesn't make cense to me. ALSO, so eventually this will be the same price as a Tesla Model Y...... for the same price, I would get the Model Y for sure.
Rivian may not make it. It is bleeding too much cash. These models can't come soon enough. Making it potentially a bad investment if Rivian goes under. Not hating but realistic and factual.
Rivian placing NACS charge ports on their new model is totally negated by placing the charge door on the wrong side. It ruins the ability to use Tesla chargers without taking up two spaces and shows Rivian is NOT serious about providing their customers with a great charging experience. Huge miss.
Tesla sells more cars in a month than rivian has managed to do in 3+year's of constant production! 😀 But hey rj and rivian have somehow managed to burn more cash than tesla raised in its entire existence so there's that right? 😂 Oh and that's after cutting 23% of rivians total staffing since the spring of 2023! But elon is a monster because he cut 8-10% of teslas staff.
They just need to turn the car around during production. Think it will be easier than turning around the entire production line. Maybe they'll find out. LOL What a mess.
Rivian still has negative gross margins on the R1S/R1T, I see no reason to believe they can build this profitably. Tesla had positive gross margins on the S/X immediately and they didn't have the road paved for them.
Sorry to be a party pooper: What about range, battery size, weight, trunk, frunk, towing capability, efficiency, children seat mounting, app support, navigation, safety, repairs, maintenance, where is the next servic center if i drive it to - lets say - Debrecen. Price, ADAS, 1000 km challenge by Tesla Björn, Euro NCAP crash test: The car looks like a nicely designed large SUV. Similar to Fisker Ocean or Kia EV9. The charge port is too small for CCS, Rivian will have to change that. Or do they plan to stay in the US? The smallest of the three large worldwide car markets?
@@MegaWildernessBetter anything Tesla offers? Hmm... Tesla offerings are selling unlike Rivian. Instead of bad mouthing others be humble and actually deliver to customers at a lower price. Fisher perceived to be better, iPace perceived to be better, eTron perceived to be better... but no show.
Rivian might not be as nimble or innovative as Tesla or others, but their first production products came out better than most first generation products from a new builder. With Musk causing political hate of him, which is spilling over negatively to Tesla and RJ Scaringe really coming across as a solid leader, it gives hope of Rivian doing well. With China spreading globally fast, US builders have to get their acts together, or they will not see 2040, at least not without new owners. Hope Tesla does many styling updates in 2025. The public does not see the updates Tesla does, so it makes some think most models are basically unchanged for many years. Musk has teased changes and new models coming, but saying it is coming and seeing it go into production has very different levels of impact.
