Nice find on those Alpines. I had a pair of them about 40 years ago. I even had a push bar where two of them can be hooked together in tandem. I love your comments about the Yamahas with the pogo stick front suspension. I bought one for $150 US back then. Someone left the plugs out and I had to have the crank rebuilt.
I gave my 72 Nordic some similar love a few years ago. It's amazing that your Alpine and my Nordic sound identical, right down to the ringing clutch. Love it! Thanks for the episode.
The best part of this hobby is driving 12 hrs to go pick up trash. Great sled.Looks like its getting ready for the bomber nose treatment. Great to see gravy and bacon back in the vids.Nice work guys.
When I tore down the 339 CC twin from my 73 Olympic 340 to reseal it, I found it had what turned out to be a TNT piston in the clutch side and it was installed backward, the arrow with "AUS" (out) pointing at the intake side. I had ran that sled about 10 years like that after buying it off eBay. So yes you never know what you'll find when you tear these things down..
Wow, I haven’t seen one of those in years. Back in 97 I was looking to buy my first sled and a local ski resort was selling some of those, they had about a dozen for sale but when I went to ask the local sled shop if parts were available before I bought them I ended up leaving there with a Yamaha enticer.
I thinkbi know one thats the color of the the ine in the thumbnail, im thinking about getting it, should i? It would be mostly for around my small small town, all gravel roads, and up a somewhat steep hill
If you got to start it inside...put some "Tru Fuel" pre mix in there. Just enough to start her. ..no ethenol=long lasting and for whatever reason ABSOLUTLTY NO SMOKE.
Forget those Ski Dood guys, we are just happy to see Gravy isn’t Ded. That motor look immaculate. Nice work here fellas.

Good job ! This Alpine is good for another 50 years of service.

What a find! In my area, all of the Alpines are either rusted-out hulks, or immaculately restored machines that are priced accordingly.
Yep. Ran when parked..... right.
My oldest brother had one of those that we used in his junkyard to get parts in the winter.

We never use ethanol blended fuel. The smoke is from all the oil in the engine when it was reassembled. Thanks for the tru fuel tip
Ski doods…. Out ! 😂
What's, "getting daved?"
So when are you guys going to go rescue the bombardier b -12 outside Gene's window at 3:07. looks like it needs a better home.
Nah.
Now that’s an eagle-eyed viewer!
How much you pay for both?
A lady never tells...

Have you convinced your wife that riding that on the lawn is helping de-thatch the grass?
