Most likely just need a teacher and like 10 or so friends who’d said they’re interested. I’d go for it the worst that can happen is it ends up with you and half of those ten friends playing a tournament on the weekends. It’s a pretty fun experience to practice and compete on a team level, especially if you win a fair amount. Best case scenario the club pops off depending on how you advertise it to others and you get 50+ students playing all these different games with even A and B teams (which would also look great for colleges for you to be the president). The people who made my schools esports club in their senior year told me that they had wished they started freshman year
@@seanhopkins2003 I started playing my sophomore year but didn't they told us we weren't an official club unless we had a certain amount of people so we started it as an official club my junior year. I'm not sure about your school's demographics but we had 70 kids sign up at our first interest meeting. There are a ton of games offered so there's something for everyone. Here is a list of games that the High School Esports League offers- www.highschoolesportsleague.com/game-summaries
Great advice on going JUCO. A four year university can be extremely expensive especially if you are taking on loans…and don’t get me started on grad and professional schools.
I can’t wrap my head around how esports is even allowed to be a course, I mean, pro gamers really don’t make a lot of money, and with the increase of living costs, this won’t cut it for the future.
pro gamers dont make a lot of money? where did you hear that? in games like overwatch or valorant, their buyouts can be in the hundreds of thousands, and can make 10-15k a MONTH for their salaries.
It’s not a course it’s a program that’s at the school, think like a chess club. There are professional chess masters but it isn’t usually a students main focus if they’re in the club. He states that pretty clearly right here 5:07
I wonder if it's a good idea to still make this club in my High School, but thank you for giving me motivation.
Absolutely it is!
I was my high school esports club president. A lot of fun, definitely worth it. We won the CS:GO national tournament.
