My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
This woman was exhausting with her defiance, rude behavior and self pity. RIP to Randy. He seemed very kind.

I remember this episode, she made me so upset. She’s the reason Randy passed away. Going to stores and buying all this food for her when he should’ve been inside during Covid because he was already sick himself. These ppl are a burden and are lucky that they have ppl around them that are willing to care for them.
It’s really obnoxious when people ask for help, then refuse to take the help that’s given. Why ask in the first place if you’re not willing to change?
Because she thinks a gastric sleeve is a magical shortcut without making an effort to lose lbs.
Its the crocodile tears when she doesn't get her own way for me. You can tell she's been doing that her whole life to manipulate people and control any situation she is in.
It’s unfortunate that this woman’s boyfriend passed away while filming this episode. Between the two is a shame that he’s the one that had to go.

He and when I say he, I mean the boyfriend please don’t take this the wrong way please don’t but I truly believe that he is better off now and the only reason I say that is because now he doesn’t have to deal with her mental abuse because she is vile, I don’t even get me started on how she was nasty to the nutritionist, the physical therapist and the doctor himself.

She has learned to be that way.No one stays in bed for years without serious mental issues. I once had to stay in bed for 3 days.It was a nightmare. I had a temperature and I was on antibiotics. And even though I was sleeping a lot, I had to get up to go to the bathroom. Back in my bed, it felt like I had climbed a mountain.It was a very bad situation.I can't imagine being in that place for long, like she did.No wonder, she's difficult.

i don’t like her either, but if someone’s THAT overweight even a small exercise can help them and she’s not really able to do more
At that weight doing things like that are more to help get their body used to used to doing something again. It helps to strengthen the heart a bit so it can handle the stress from getting more mobile again. It just sucks some of these people refuse to do what they need to do to improve their health and get back to a better quality of life.

The doc should put these people on a ketogenic diet. High healthy fat, protein, veggies. Period. It's a lot easier to stick to b/c you can eat a lot and the food tastes good, burgers, steaks, eggs/bacon, pork chops, chicken, and you don't miss the carbs as much when you enjoy the food. No dry chicken breasts!! I know b/c I've lost 60 lbs that way and still going.
I think he does a higher protein variation of it. At their weight, they really don’t need the extra fat.
I had great success with keto too! And then adding strength training. Great stuff!

We all have trauma in our childhood, from losing a beloved pet, a sick parent, bullying, grief, zits..to abuse... but we learn to live with it. These people using childhood events for overeating is ridiculous...it's nothing but greed. I know we are all different...but l can imagine trauma would have the opposite effect, instead of eating too much..l would think you would eat less and less.

So many of these people blame their food addiction on being abused in different ways as a child. That is such a lame excuse if you ask me. Yes, it's wrong and should never have happened. But you have to want to heal from the trauma it caused and get past it. These people don't want to they just want to play the victim and have something to justify their lifestyle. They get themselves into these situations and then want some magic fix and for others to do all the work for them. Some of these people are absolutely frustrating and beyond help, they just wanted to be on the show for the money.
No, I don't agree. They have problems, they can't fix by themselves. They learned, that food helps. So they eat. Other people smoke, take drugs or drink, often in combination.
You would be astonished to hear, what smokers, who have damaged their health beyond repair, tell you about their smoking habits and why it's impossible to quit. And if they quit, they turn to something else.You can't heal addictions, you have to learn to live with them.

I don't have a weight problem but I have been through a lot and I wanted my wits about me and to be physically strong enough to cope with the Mental Health side of things but I did all I could with help from others rather than food as a crutch. I went to the Gym and did zorbing which was amazing fun while keeping fit!!
@charlottepeukert9095 I do agree with you to an extent. Food in of itself can 100% become something you are addicted to. But the mechanical addiction from food is not the same type of addiction that drugs, alcohol, and other substances is way different. With drugs and other substances there is something in those things that you're body gets addicted to on top of the addiction to the feel good hormones your releases in mass amounts from partaking in a much loved activity. There is a bio chemical and a chemical addiction with substance addiction. It's only a bio chemical addiction when it comes to things like gambling, shopping, food, adult fun time, and similar action based addictions. They become addicted to how the hormones their bodies dump into their system and associate that good feeling as a very pleasurable experience and want to feel that way as much as possible. It also has a mental aspect to it in that they either do not want to face the trauma in their past or they aren't ready/capable of processing that trauma yet. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink is a similar concept to this situation. You can try to get them to eat healthier and exercise more but until they want to they will only continue to do what makes them feel comfortable as that is what they know. One could argue in a wildly round about way that their food addiction has been adulterated by a sexual aspect in a few different ways. In order to cope with that type of trauma they use food to cope. The messages in their brain associated sexual things with eating, eating means feel better, feeling better feels better with $exual stuff. So a cycle is formed that way. Or they love the feeling of how eating makes them feel and that puts them in overdrive and desiring other things.

There was a show once called "The biggest looser".
All of it's participants were severely overweight. They all lost big amounts of weight, but one person followed them up. The results were devestating. After 6 years, all but one person had regained their weight.This person had become a professional fitness trainer. Some of the participants were even heavier than before.
These findings are shocking.
I'd also like to point out that there are people who suffer trauma and don't develop addictions. It's a mystery to me how the families can tolerate these eating habbits.

After her boyfriend died she ended up in a hospital because she couldn’t look after herself, she then quit the program and started accusing the film crew of making stuff up and making her look rude, she’s now looked after by her sons girlfriend

You can't always play the victim, if you want to live, you have to take steps and sacrifice, it's a very hard journey, but I've done it, not been easy, had I not done it, I probably would have passed away 7 years ago according to my Dr's.
what a toxic relationship, she seeks happyness and he seeks someone to give it to and be recogniced. Thats just toxic... its sad how people destroy the lives of others, thinking its love but in truth its just the need to prove that they are doing good things for another.

I was bedridden for 7 months because of complications due to surgery. (I also had a trach in my throat. I . The p/t were terrific. We worked together to get my health back.
I know the feeling. The first thing I wanted to be able to do was go to the toilet on my own for my dignity and then go foe walks round the Hospital for my Mental Health.
Bones through the skin? I say bs.. bigger people than her never have bones go through their skin.
