I just picked my first pair too, in pigskin. Well, it's second hand and it is a bit dried up, like... It can stand on its own
But not to worry, I'm sure a bit of hydrating lotion and patience can bring it back. I hope.

Yes, and also from Franken (Buttenheim) - true Franks don't regard themselves as Bavarian, and don't wear Lederhosen.

huh made of sheep or deer hide, yea thats durable and softer, I always thought they were actual cows hide, I know they are really durable though and fancy thesedays

common, more affordable Lederhosen are made from Cow, right. not goat anymore these days.

I see, I was going to say that would be quite expensive, but deer sounds nice, durable and soft against the skin, you dont want too stiff of hide rubbing you if you can help it when you move after all.

Georg Mir A mot of goat hide is used still. The deer hide is much more expensive.

Obviously you think this is a very snarky comment, but the only pictures of Hitler wearing Lederhosen are before he came to power. After that he never wore them - he said he gave them up "for the sake of North Germany", ie for German Unity.
The only other Nazi of any significance that I have ever seen wearing Lederhosen (in pictures) is Heydrich.
So Lederhosen are not an especially Nazi thing at all.
