So, so many great memories of fishing with my Dad too! Whether off the dock or on the boat, some of the best philosophical discussions were had between landing fish. Miss him a lot!
I’m a girl from Florida and about 13ish, begged my daddy to take me deep sea fishing. Well, I hooked a Flounder, bout 6 lbs, might as well been 20 lbs. screamed for daddy to take the rob but, nope, he hooked a hand through a belt loop and a hand on the base of that expensive rental rod and said “ this is what you ask for, now reel,”. A life lesson and a favorite memory! Doesn’t madder, girl or boy, good daddies make good adults!

I agree, 100% however My Daddy went home to be with JESUS on March 26th 2022...... 3 days after my Birthday, he was 91 years young...
Enjoy your Daddy while you can because once they get Promoted, There is no turning the hands of time back again & all you have left are the memories that you've built upon.....
So if you can take lots of Photos or better yet Video your outings so you are able to hear your Daddy's Voice. I wasn't able to see my Dad for over 20 years before he Passed away, I didn't have the $$$$$ to travel down to see him.
This is just another reason I've told you to enjoy him while you can....

Tornados hit the town nearest the Arms and destroyed much of downtown. I messaged a neighbor who reported DeeJay and Daniel and family are okay. They are helping with recovery. The areas hit the tornados need our prayers. I’m a tornado survivor and this hits home.

Gold..gold...gold..golden times and memories. Excellent little expedition in the awesome van. When I think of a 1986 model Ford van, I almost want to work on one they are so simple to troubleshoot and maintain. So cool to be able to roll up most anywhere and have a very cool campsite and fishing shack. An all night catfish expedition sounds awesome, get some of those little bells to clip on and maybe some light up bobbers. That van is a unit! You gotta use it before it gets too hot this summer. So cool.
Best thing is to camp close to home! I do it too! Then I can run home if I need something. 😎
You are making wonderful memories that you and Houston both will remember. This reminds me of a overnight fishing trip my son and I took when he was about 10. Wonderful memories.

I just loved this episode. I’m 70 years old and I live in Small town south of you 15 miles from the red river. I watch your program regularly. This episode brought back such memories for me when we use to go camping as a kid. We had so much fun. Houston, your dad reminds me of my dad how he loved the outdoors. To this day I love to fish! My daddy has gone on to heaven now, but I’ve carried on the tradition.

Looked like several tornados going over the same path over and over.
Just insane weather.
And flooding on top of that.

Praying for Sulphur and Mill Creek! Hope Arms Family is safe
I started fishing with my dad when I was 5 or 6 on the Kankakee river and I had my last fishing adventure around the summer of 2008 before dad got too old and I had my back go bad. I am guessing that we had at lease 987 trips in the 60 years we were able to fish in the mid west area (16 times a year including trips of 7 to 14 days at a time. Northern Wisconsin was our favorite state.)
