  • Many people expect older coins to have more value. This isn’t necessarily the case. For example, even though the United States is relatively young among nations, its coinage is in high demand and is generally more valuable than coins from places like ancient Greece.
The following list compromises of the most expensive coins. Most of these are auction prices & Few are privately sold.
This visualization shows the following things:-
    1. Pictorial Representation of the coin
    2. Name & Minted year of the coin
    3. Country where the coin is minted.
    4. Description about the coin
    5. The sold price of the coin at Auction/Privately.
    Music:
    1. Track: Chariots of War-Aakash Gandhi.
    2. Track: Curse of the Scarab-Kevin Macleod.

Firebird No it’s just that the very first coins our country minted are limited. In America having a physical piece of the founding of our nation would be amazing. If our country were to stay together for centuries it is almost priceless to have something from the very inception. I am sure you have issues with our government but this is American citizens appreciating things. No reason for blind hate my friend

I’m not sure if I’m going crazy but I was searching through my grandmother’s wheat cents and found a 1943 Denver mint. It’s in bad condition though. I’ll try and clean it up and see if it’s actually real.

The possible reason why the majority are from USA is their relatively short history of coinage. Because of it every variant is considered more valuable. US coin collectors just don't have a lot to choose from and so they're more keen to pay big money for something unique.

Nah this video is just dumb. Basically every country new and old have rare dates of coins. The UK 1954 penny for example is ridiculously rare, with only one known example. That would be worth millions. Or any coins featuring Edward VIII. One recent sold at auction for 3 million dollars. This isn’t even considering the rare dates of ancient coins. If you get your hands on a mint state Cleopatra coin from a rare year, they are worth hundreds of thousands. The reason the majority here are US isn’t because of their value, it’s because the guy who made this is an idiot.

The rarest coin in the world is the Edward III Florin, with only 3 ever being exported (it was worth 6 shillings at the time lol so like £0.06) and it was made in *1343*. Unfortunately there’s no definitive value as no one can actually sell one since it’s lost in the first place.

Jagadish, before calling anybody a fraud buyer, try to find information about your coin ( date, condition, mintage ) and after that search of the net for auction result on the exact same coin's issue. Never forget there is more chance those coins have a litle value than having a treasure coins worthing thousands...
Also, don't try to rub or clean your coin by any method, collectors will always pay way more for a "dirty" but original coin than for a cleaned one. If there is something to do, they will do it. Just protect them from light and humidity at a constant temperature ( no suddent change ) and they will be safe for the future years !
