Hey Micheal, so i just saw ur video of some of ur track time with a time attack brz. At the end of the video theres terrifying clip of you downshifting and then loosing control because the engine had cut of in that time. I was wondering what you would recommend doing in a situation when you're wheels have locked up because of a situation like this or a mis-shift causing overrevving, should you push in the clutch so the car can roll and brake meanwhile or should you let the clutch out and let the tires lock up and brake as well? (This is after your tires have already locked up and you are sliding now.) This might be a stupid question but im new to the autocross/track arena and thankfully i haven't had any accidents but i know they're inevitable.
Yes in that case the engine dying suddenly locked up the drive train when I let the clutch out. There was nothing to do but put two feet in (depress the clutch and the brake pedals) and steer in the direction you want the car to go.
So what are some of the benefits to camming a NA VQ!? I always thought It wasn’t much of a benefit but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, I know they have a couple of bigger cam options and they say you’ll need to upgrade the springs as well. Thank you so much and sounds incredible btw 🔥👌💯
i have the vq40 and i reallllly wanna cam it but i dont want a lot of noise so what do u suggest and i already installed headers and cold sport air intake

If everyone in the car community, especially those who were successful, stopped advertising for free constantly sponsorships and support would likely increase drastically.
@@Ap-qf8kp depends on what you want to do. The straight 6's are all Iron blocks to my knowledge and for my type of racing would actually make the car slower at almost any power level.
He doesnt know what cams he has. They're probably custom. You can go to any camshaft manufacturer and tell them what you want and theyll do it but it ain't cheap
I'll trade ya straight up for my 03 all stock, 25K miles, 1 of the first 350's sold in North America, Le Mans Sunset, performance model, only saw precipitation twice (once snow, once rain) garage stored, a bunch of gifts it came with. No sun swirls in paint. ....please?

Benefit = reliable power at higher rpm. It’s not as much power as FI but won’t explode.

Did you cut the bottom of the rear bumper out to avoid ballooning? If so, how come that route vs. a rear diffuser? Weight?

Depends on the lift of the camshaft. Sometimes nothing. Sometimes pistons and valve covers need clearance as well

It’s 12:1 in this video but upgrading to 12.5:1 right now. Should be done the new build in a few weeks.

josh wallang I think there is a custom cam timing stop welded to the intake cam gears to prevent this. I’m not an engine builder though.
