You will not believe it. I am exactly in the time of my life when this discussion is going on...most of my classmates and friends, just want to go abroad! It is the ultimate destination. And some of their parents have put them in international boards from their school years so that it is easy for them to go abroad...it is a craze, within my friends as well as family! It is a matter of pride... Only when you go abroad you have made it in life! You keep hearing the same things again and again, the lifestyle is better, service is better, you make good money, etc etc.
And in such an environment to stay in india and work we are the minority...we are thought of as people who are not ambitious or ill informed and lose respect. The case for us not rich but educated class who can take loan and go abroad is really very bad. Because it takes a lot of courage to stay back and prove that we can also have a good life! To make matters worse since most of our families are already abroad... it's an added standard and also a reason to go, as we have family there...
But the comments section makes me so happy it's good that finally the negetive aspects of going abroad are also highlighted....

I have lived in the UK for 11 years. Came here as a student, and have seen all of this mentioned in this video. Sex work is allowed under the guise of massage parlours, many of which are run by ex-police officers because they know the system in and out - watch A Very British Brothel. As much as they like to talk about women's rights of other countries, here there was no equality only a facade. They create situations where there are limited choices for people and then make you feel it was your free will. Drugs abuse is so much entrenched in the society that they are considering giving it out legally through hospitals to keep related crime low. I have worked in one of the top university. Degrees are just handed out to underperforming students because the universities think failing a student will turn away other prospective students. Many of the who get PhDs do not speak the language properly. For home students PhD is easy money if they do not get jobs, so they enroll into PhDs for monthly stipends. Professors do not care who they hire for PhDs because the more number of PhDs under them means promotion and funding. A lot of research done at universities is hit and trial, most clinical work is statistical. It just makes your head spin when you get to know the system in detail. I wish I had chosen a different avenue to study and invest my younger years into a country which respects talent.
Things have gone south here more than anyone can imagine.

@@harishs2181 Studying in Abroad is easy only in not so well known college or university, like my friends went to Texas university, Winnipeg and other such in which admissions were easy, point is don't go to abroad if you don't have enough knowledge of your subject, like my one friend doesn't even properly know english, however he qualified IELTS but I know his conversations skills in English , and also he scored just 62 percent in CBSE but went to canada to study, he has to work after classes to support himself as expenses are really high for him, go only if you are really interested in your subject and have good knowledge ( not super good) of your field and only and only if you are able to secure admission in a well known university like MIT, Caltech, Stanford, Munich, London,Tokyo etc, just for the sake of going out dont choose a mediocre college because expenses will be high and funding will be low and also learning will not be very good, try to secure admission in a good college eg MIT because they will take you only if they feel your knowledge is sufficient and also provide you funding for study and will be more safer, like in my case I scored 46 marks in gate, applied for Ms in MIT they rejected my application now I am doing Mtech from IIT , don't think MIT ne nhi liya par IIT ne le liya, MS in MIT ki requirement bahut high hai unko pura research bases work chaiye mera itna sufficient nhi tha bas. Its all a business, dont fall in the trap, believe me only your knowledge can gain you respect in a foreign land,

    Yep
    Had that one before
Two French women came to my college last year to tell us about studying in France
Well, first off I can't afford it (well, it will take a huge toll on my dad's income, so it can be done but let it be)
Second, who the hell would learn French? Just for studying abroad?
Third, they consider India as a market, nothing else. Not only that, we are simply made to think that India is worse than these countries (which is far from truth), thanks to selective journalism of media and everything else that makes us feel worse about our country (thanks to karolina that I really love my country to the point that I just don't want to leave it at all now, I wanted to go to Japan, have a similar friend but screw that now. Saw the dark side of Japan too, however it is a great country)
India is being a market to them, no matter what.
We should be proud of being born here. And love it, even if it seems more chaotic and not so nice.
I can't thank Karolina enough for her research, to throw it on the face of those NRIs and pathetic westeners who mock India (and developing countries in general) for being not so good.
    Thanks Karolina, just keep going.

And I don't think like you about the job
I've talked to Japanese people and many were rude, implying that they aren't the way we take them to be (perfect people). They're normal people just like us and they have stress issues. I'm not judging the country, but now I want to stay here. I have some plans

Before you take admission in any foreign University you have to ensure whether that foreign University has permission from indian authorities particularly UGC for conducting such a business. It doesn't matter which councilor, agent or University representative you are talking to, you have to cross check with UGC whether they have permission to teach you. I was duped by one fraud agent called Rajesh Lala from [Newstrides.com], working for an Irish University, DUBLIN BUSINESS SCHOOL, when I consulted UGC to find out that they can't conduct such a business without permission from UGC. The reason UGC has explained clearly is that educational business cannot be conducted under "SHOP ACT" even if it's a business, not under the purview of Indian laws by targeting an Indian citizen. Hence it is a perfidious cheating business in the name of education. I didn't get my money back, even If I filed a criminal suit because police could not trace him or book him under any laws pertaining to education. UGC reported me that India doesn't have laws to counter educational scams of international standard. So I can't proceed to recover 9460 EUR stolen by the agent! Now from my experience you can clearly understand what is going on in the name of higher education abroad by tacitly bypassing indian authorities taking advantage of legal loopholes!

And since last few years there is considerable increase in no of students going abroad for studying and they get scholarships too. Most of these students are those who couldn't clear competitive entrance exams here. Still I've seen few real meritorious students out of choice are going abroad for further studies in prestigious Institutes and that is altogether different thing, they are dedicated students who top there too

Indian IITs, NITs, IIMs, IIITs, GFTI's and other institutions are the most preferred institution for an Indian parent as they are par with 90% of western institutions and the knowledge they impart are better.

I personally feel that our institutes are at par with these universities. The reason they don't make it to the rankings is the lack of international exposure due to lack of international students. And this is probably because the entrance exams that you need to clear to get into these colleges are difficult. And in my opinion, that is what makes our institutes better. That is the level of education. I'm not talking about all the colleges, but many IITs and NITs have exceptional professors.

    No match or comparison
You can be poor but Happy in India and rich but miserable outside.
Pathetic thing is now even in India such people have started westernizing.
And thus this is going to happen here too.
People say India has nothing to export.
Let me tell you the best thing we can export and only we have copyright about it.
    Spirituality.!
We made our own Gods and deities. Is any culture in the world capable of that?
Still you want to go outside you can but then don't come back and comment on Khajuraho which stresses on removal of physical desires to enter the shrine and say and laugh at the detailed carvings.
    Pathetic.
