I like watching you guys work and solving the rat problem for these people. I always admire that and enjoy seeing ya’ll in action.
But I didn’t care to much for the games and the contests and the mystery box. It seems like ya’ll took it too far. And it was kind of humiliating to see the customer not choose the mystery box and miss out on a huge savings.
But overall I’m a big fan of your channel!

At the end of the day it's entertainment, not a charity.
As someone who's dealt with a grandmother with dementia there's literally nothing you can do. My granny used to hide ceral under her bed and would constantly raid the fridge in the middle of the night to horde food in closets and drawers. You clean so much that it breaks you mentally and you try your hardest to keep it contained all while making preparations for their impending passing. Dementia also likes to make them run out any open door and get lost in the neighborhood so if them hoarding in the bedroom keeps them from running away you tend to let it slide just to keep from stressing out. So please don't attack that poor son he's doing the absolute best he can to survive all while dealing with his mother fading away 😢

With all of the babies those big grapefruits made I think his lineage is spread far and wide. I appreciated these guys professionalism with the mother of the client. Hopefully she gets the proper help she needs in time. Bless her son for hanging on.
I've worked with dementia patients & you all did good BUT can you see how hard it is for family's like her son lives non stop with that frustration
LoL she's actually pretty mild compared to many other dementia patients I've seen LoL agreeing with her while slowly talking her into what's needed is the correct professional skill for dementia

That house was f'n disgusting. I understand the mother's resistance due to her dementia, but there is no way that house (especially the bedroom) should have gotten to that condition. Sadly, nothing will change, and rats will be back. And saving that rat was lame. I also predicted what was in the box.

This was my favorite episode so far - mystery box or cash, the rat vac, drama, comedy, rated R language and a smart rat named Chewy. Chewy was ducking and dodging. Nice ending.

It is evident that the woman has some mental health issues, but she lives in that bedroom like a hoarder and is the reason for the rat infestation.
When people with limited mental capabilities cannot fully comprehend the dangers they put themselves through, they should be placed in a professional facility where trained staff can assist them. The severity of the disorder is often directly related to the number of medical conditions that these individuals suffer from.
People living with dementia and those close to them face many challenges. Observing and coping with common behaviors resulting from illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, or frontotemporal dementia can be challenging.
There are many unusual behaviors associated with dementia, including: Making odd statements or wrongly referring to certain items, forgetting to bathe or forgetting how to maintain good hygiene. They will likely repeat themselves or ask the same question over and over again. Sometimes they will hoard objects, such as mail or even garbage and exhibit paranoid behavior. Like she is exhibiting here, they will become easily confused or agitated and even leave the house without telling you, and then get lost.
The problem with that son goes beyond just an infestation of rats. There is a need for him to seek professional help for his mother.
Relocating the mom for a few days would have helped

I don’t think it’s proper for an elder person to be living in those conditions. Toilet, sink, vermin, piles of refuse and clothing. I think that conditions are at a level that should cause the family to make some hard decisions. Leaving these conditions seems like a possible problem for the family if left alone.
There are thousands of homes like this all over the US.

@@Texas_Made_ As a daughter of someone w/ dementia, they really can be difficult to deal w/. I'm able to deal w/ my mom b/c I'm a woman so she trusts me to see her in a vulnerable state; but if I was a son, she would definitely put up some resistance. Men tend to avoid making their sick mothers angry or irritated so they tend to leave them be so they can be comfortable. The daughters tend to take charge w/ sick parents. I really think if they had a sister, it wouldn't be like this.

I bought an old farmhouse which was completely rat and mouse infested. Complete gut and remodel. Between exclusion and cats I'm rodent free now.

On that final day when yall greeted her you could see just how nice of a lady she actually is. dementia sucks
You have to box up/bag up all those clothes.
But, I agree, the only way to successfully do it is when Sharon is out of the house for several hours.
I think in the future, if you have to deal with a person who has dementia and doesn’t remember their actions from the night before, you will have to somehow get that person out of the house for half a day day or all day. Sharon did NOT remember eating in her room. Nor did she remember leaving plates with leftover food on them in her room. She kept saying: “I don’t eat in my bedroom”. But she obviously was.
It would be better to put her clothes in cardboard boxes rather than bags.
Put the clothes in bags and then in boxes perhaps. That’s what her son should do.
That is not really YOUR job, to tell the truth.
I bet Sharon wears just about the same clothes all the time and those stacks and piles and piles of clothes are never used nor looked at. It is really sad and it must be very difficult for her son to deal with all of that.
Lots of respect to you guys! That old lady living in all that junk with all does rats.. instead of being happy that you guys offer to help her, she’s being so rude. Disgusting (and yes I understand she wasn’t mentally ok, but still) her son who lets her stay there must realize the problem with the rats. That’s why I salute you guys for being so patient, I would have left right away.

Dementia becomes dangerous if you don't keep them as calm as possible & you can get into legal trouble not caring for a medical problem correctly
