Jake this was one of your BEST videos to date. Very impressive work! Voice over is tremendously helpful in understanding what your game plan is! Keep this type of video coming! The whole crew is not afraid of a days work!
That was real interesting video. Good to see some of the controlled lowering of branches, I prefer to hear the crash of wood hitting the floor, but when near houses and cars you got to be careful. Thanks again. Chris TheRuralProject
Haha yeah we all like to hear the sound but don’t want to deal with the mess afterwards! Lowering the branches provides a lot more control and minimal cleanup!
Yeah but of course the big companies wont give us chippers with winches when so many of these smaller companies get equipment that helps with the process
How you like that compact tractor vs a skid steer? I just bought a tractor today, hoping I’ll like it?! Much lighter weight to haul and much cheaper was my main reasons!
Fuel prices adds to the problem but logistically it just didn’t make sense to save it. About 37 miles one way to get it from the job back to the woodyard.
@@DudeRanchDIY Nice! Hope you get it. If I can ever help save some logs from the dump, please let me know. I process all my own firewood for our wood burning insert and use it to heat the house all winter long. Your channel is awesome, keep up the great work!
I have been in the tree removal business for about 10 years and chippers for me make absolutely no sense. Extremely dangerous, time consuming, and not very courteous to neighbors to say the least.
I can fit a lot more limbs in the truck as woodchips compared to whole. I can also dump woodchips easily at various locations. Nobody wants a load of limb wood.
Lovely houses with pristine garden areas. That chipper is a fast mover!

@@DudeRanchDIY hi! Lachute in Quebec. I run my small tree work company
How well does the hooklift truck work for logs? Is the dump angle steep enough?
It works great, when you want to dump the hook lift mechanism locks in place and dumps like a normal truck
Always great video new subscriber
Hey there Ulysses! Thanks for subscribing, welcome to the ranch!
How you like that compact tractor vs a skid steer?
I just bought a tractor today, hoping I’ll like it?! Much lighter weight to haul and much cheaper was my main reasons!
I love both machines, they each have their place! I’m sure you’ll grow to love your tractor! Huge time and effort saver!
Is that a 75 ft bucket? It gets on up there!
55’ it’s an old one
Nice job! How do you like the wicked grapple? I just ordered one for my L3240. Can't wait!
I love my wicked grapple, perfect for what I use it for which is a little bit of everything!
I understand the high fuel prices... heartbreaking to see all that fine stove 🪵 go to the dump though.

Do you ever have jobs in or around Fairfield CT?
@@chrism3874 yep, just gave an estimate in Fairfield yesterday.

You guys rolled
outside of the monetary aspect of purchasing a grapple truck why would you chip the limbs and not just load them?
