I've been having these tiles missing in my ground lately too. Sometimes they just randomly render in . Never seen it interact with gear like this tho
So 100% that is a problem with the Rendering engine they use/build and why taking off gear fixes the rendering problem probably is because the Character model needs to be updated re-render and the then thinks "ho shit, I need to load chunks there"
