- The alluring not-quite-reggae of “Row Jimmy” remained a central part of the Grateful Dead’s live repertoire from when is was introduced in 1973 to the end of the band’s touring in 1995. Through those two decades, the form of the song stayed the same, but the band playing it continued to change. The “Row Jimmy” supercut highlights changes in the band’s lineups, instrumentation, voices, and more, moving chronologically and seamlessly through 25 versions of the song.

Miss Jerry so much. I'm English and travelled to the US loads to see The Dead and the Jerry Garcia Band. Now in my last days I'm getting so much strength from listening to the greatest music I've ever heard !

The 3-14-1990 Row Jimmy from the Cap Center was the best ever. Hands down!
Absolutely the best podcast ever made....I listened to every episode in sequence, and it was probably one of the most interesting things I ever did. It's also exciting to realize how much is still left to cover, '77, '78, '79, late eighties, early 90's, Bruce years, the final tour, the Dylan tour, Brents drastic influence, Egypt, the list goes on. Stay Grateful the keyboard player you are thinking of is Brent Mydland, Jerry use to play on the opposite side of the stage from the keyboard player, when Brent joined he started playing right next to Brent because they played so well off each other. I know what you mean about getting older. I use to dig a hole to China dancing my ass off now I can't even walk 15 feet without having to stop cause of the pain in my knees and hips. Ron" Pigpen" Mckernan was the piano/keys player who died way too young....as well as the others mentioned....but Pigpen was the first to go.

6/25/85 is at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls OH, not SPAC, and 3/26/90 is at the Knickerbocker Arena in Albany NY, not Nassau Coliseum

Whenever I hear Dead it always reminds me of the Dead Kids and The Scene in Santa Cruz, CA. A lot of musicians busking, too, on the main drag right by The Lot. Trippy Place.
