I have been trying to learn how to identify chords for years. I learned some chords but I want to further my knowledge in this area.

5:25 I vi ii V - I used this exact chord progression in church during invitation time a couple weeks ago. Once in a while, I use different inversions, then replace the V with a III (major) chord, followed by another short progression (vi V IV ii V vi V, again using different inversions) to ease it back into the original key. I think it sounds really nice.

That's absolutely awesome!! I suppose you were playing on your own during this worship moment, so that you could "Travel" to different chord progressions, unplanned?
Would you mind sharing your name? :) Feels weird that I can't address you

Hi, Sandra! I'm still learning Ableton, but you can hear a test clip of this here (headphones recommended):

My name is グレゴリーミカン , but you can call me グレゴリー. 😄
Play in Google Translate for pronunciation.

Did you use Ableton to create that audio clip, Gregory? :) (I hope I got your name right based on that Google translate!)

Yes, you got my name right. 😊 That was Ableton on a PC with some layered sounds from the Zebra 2 VST synth. At the end of service, we often have a guitar player or even a full band on stage. In that case, I just play an ambient drone pad to back up the musician(s). But sometimes it is just me on the keyboard, and I get to play some progressions. I practice all week, and I'm happy when I get a chance to play. My main job is running sound, so I play keys from the sound booth.

For the test you gave us, i hear solfage in the bass part, or the lowest note in the scale. I could aslso hear the bass part of the song Heart and Soul in one of your chord progressions. im taking ear training 2 and I am having a really har time identifying which chord number it is, especially with inversions. I can identify four different cadeences, but not hear chord progression well. not even sure how to learn. The online homewrok is not effective at all. it sucks.

You are no doubt a good teacher ❤️
But problem is you talk much.
When sound is the factor. Do it repeatedly. Such as ------,C -major, Then D major. Show students the sound difference. Not the whole major scale
    Harmonization.
    Thank you very much.
