Hello mr. Lee I'm from Mauritius. I love badminton a lot. Its been 3 years since i play. I've discovered your videos and i can tell you that they are awesome.!
Today is Teacher's Day. Wishing you a wonderful TEACHERS DAY!. Great to have you as my Coach. Thank you once again for your teaching for the Badmotton community.
Hi Coach Lee, I have been watching ur videos and they are really really helpful. Your videos have helped me improve my badminton skills. Please keep posting more videos. Thank You
That is very good to hear. If you can hit powerfully and clearly without changing 10 degree and you are happy with it then no need to change. But I would like to ask you to have a go to see what happens as you have nothing to lose. If it does not work to you then you can saty with the way you are doing. Thank you for letting me know. Lee
your coaching is inspirational and instructive and it's clear and simple too. someone made Chinese subtitle for some of your clips and it's widely recognized in many Chinese amateurish players. thank you.and looking forward for more.:)
I am going through your instructional videos, and I have to say that I am amazed how you present the scientific part of this sport i.e. how the rules of physics take effect in each hit. Also, you clear explanations show excellent pedagogical skills. Respect.
Excellent Coach Lee. Thank you for the small things that we miss out! I watched just 12 mins of the video because I'm going to go and practise what you told us to and then slowly improve.
After seeing and viewing all your videos coach,i've improve a lot, especially on my power, speed and agility,my smash become much sharper, thanks a lot coach
Dear Sir . I am priyantha from Sri Lanka. Tomorrow I am going to pay my club match doubles finals which was we got luckily. This video clip helps me a lot to think about power smash. Thanks .. I feel I would approach you when ever I will find any difficulty with my gameplay .... :)
Thank you for your kind comment and I am very pleased to know there is someone like you follows my coaching clip and feel the way you feel. Thank you for taking time to post your comment and I am sure I will continue and you like my new clips which will be uploaded in next few months. Lee
Thanks, Coach Lee, for the tips. This is by far the best video I have seen. Very detailed and covers all the angles. By changing the grips, I could smash at a totally different level.
Thank you sir! Your techniques have helped and improved my badminton skills a lot. It's nice to see a video with all those techniques combined from previous (short) videos. Greetings from Holland.
i've always loved smashes and well placed ones. and i thought my smashes were strong enough, but when i studied this clip, it improved my power sooooooo much. thanks coach!
All your videos are excellent! Made some adjustments to my back hand clear following watching your series of clips and saw some immediate improvement. Looking forward to trying this. Thank you for your time.
Dear coach Lee this video is genius and well presented. There are days when i felt like I did not know why i was smashing so good and days where I didnt know why it was so bad. Now I know its the grip ive been using this whole time not using the full power of the thumb. Thanks you sir !!
You are most welcome and I am very pleased to know that this clip helped your badminton. Thank you very much for taking time to post your kind comment. Lee
Thanks lee .. I am an intermediate player and having a height of 6ft 2Inch.. Early i will not smash becoz i dont have the right grip. But after watching this video.. My smash results was good .. Now i am a good smasher.. Thanks from bottom of the heart...
I am very pleased to know that your smash have improved with my clip. Thank you very much for taking time to post your nice comment which I am delighted to know. Lee
That is 100% right. If you dont use your thumb then you can not use the power you have. No other simple way, just keep practice until you do it. Set your mind and try, try and try until you do it. Lee
Very good information Coach Lee! I used to play competitively several years ago and just returned to the game, and as a result I have been struggling to find my smash, after watching your video I now believe I know what I have been doing wrong. Thanks so much!
Thank you very much for your kind comment. I am delighted to know this clip helped your badminton. I very much hope it works for you. You are most welcome. Lee
really brilliant - detailed but explained thoroughly. I have a shocking pan-handle based smash, with no power, and it has been like this for years, but this video gives me hope. I want to go and practice now!
thank you for making this video coach hing... we here in malaysia were very grateful to know the way and the right techniques you showed in videos..... thank you again..
I am truly thankful for your tips. The grip during power smash is really important point that I have missed. Thanks to your instruction, now I can smash much better. To those with pain in elbow: probably maybe you swing the arm too much, which twisted the muscle ? See coach Lee movements: pull elbow back, stop the racket, switch the balance from left leg to right leg, and you can smash without any pain.
Wao! What a teaching really. Never gor this type of lessons ever. Just love your hard work sir. You camera positions are pefect to see the postures clearly. Thanky you very much Lee Sir.
at first i don't know the gripping and i used to hold the racket tight and four fingers under thumb and the whole pause and play, and directional play made my day. thanq coachingbadminton u r my first coach
I am very pleased to know. Thank you too. I am sure there may be time for that as I am planning to travel the world in the future so we may be able to meet on court one day. Lee
I am not a good player but after seeing this video and try it in the game, I can do a fast smash with full power during the game and I can control the game well. I like having a machine gun in the game !! Thank you Coach
Yes there will be. The direction of shots can be steeper but it does not mean short player should lose against tall player. There always be two sides in life. As you may bit shorter then others so you may have more advantages then the tall players. Try to turn the given condition more positive advantage ellement. Lee
Amazing! I have been playing more 'serious' badminton (NOT in a tournament competitive level personally, just with players who do have that experience) for the better part of 20 years, and though I have had a very strong smash (I am a big strong guy), I have NEVER considered changing up the grip like that. This video was amazing, I can't say it enough. I cannot wait to try this out tomorrow at the gym! :-D
It is depending on how much space you have at that moment. If you have hight and smash from away from the net then you can follow otherwise your smash action should be compact. Lee
Hi coach Lee You taught me the secret to smashing, my grip, my posure was wrong before, but due to coach Lee chong wei (:P) teaching s, I am aa better smasher. Thanks a lot.
You could use both and you can use one of them more then the other in different situiation. If you have more time then you can use arm pronation but if you have less time then you can use wrist more as it takes less time. Or please try both and choose the one you feel more right for you. I personally use less arm pronation and more wrist. Lee
Grip is same if you smash more or less. You must use ready grip, forehand and backhand grip. Also it has to be different depending on the position of shuttlecocks. Lee
It is both. Need power of arm, wrist, fingers, steps, balance and rhythm of all of them. So players need to do a lot of practice to have the rhythm and develop each parts. Lee
Coach, you are super, Though I am not able to implement what you are teaching I love to watch your videos. While playing I tend to play my natural game and forget everything that you taught.
I understand the problem, but please keep try soon you will be able to use new ways. It is normal as your old habit is much stronger that is why you have to spend more time practice and do it continuely. Keep it going. Lee
TQ so much for the tip. I would say my smashes is quite powerful compared to all my other playing players but I can't wait to try the new tips on the grip & stop racquet before smash .
coach Lee , can please upload a video with jumping Smash because every time i try to make contact with the shutter while jumping i do not get it right.. :(
