    Great review, thanks! I bought my SB4.5 earlier in the summer and cannot believe what an amazingly stable bike it is on the downhill and it climbs beautifully, too. That said, your comment about the bottle in the main triangle killed me, as I had an issue with that when I was looking to purchase. I'm glad I went with the Yeti and have a pretty decent Camelback that I actually like a lot as I can carry a bunch of xtras that I wouldn't normally think to carry. The 2019s have addressed it, but I LOVE my 4.5!

    Appreciate that you acknowledge the importance of having a water bottle in the main triangle. At least Yeti is making the change with their new bikes.

    Word has it the new 2019 bikes will have lifetime warranty, including the SB 100 that we’re released earlier. Nice to see Yeti stepping that up!

    About the "pushing you forward", the rebound was probably set more open/faster on the sb100 vs his 4.5.

    New camera settings? There seems to be a lot more crispness and detail in this video, picking out stuff on the trail is nicer and sharper. Excellent review. As someone who's ridden a lot with a fanny pack; waterbottle inside the triangle is getting to be a must for me. Especially now you can get all the different "enduro" straps for multi-tools, plugs, chain links etc.

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yeah, water bottle in the triangle is a big deal for me!

      I've told many people that for us that ride in the rockies that water bottle is not for water, its for carrying bear spray in a place I could get to it fast. It is needed 100% or no buy. We use what is called a Bearcozy that holds the spray inside it.

    Super vid Jason! You’re spot on! Like what your friend said - like to see more rear travel and 150 - fox 36 in the front = sb130. Can’t wait man! Good stuff, keep it up! 🤘

    Always enjoy your trail tests of these bikes, especially using the same trail for more accurate comparison and evaluation. I wish you had illustrated the seat post discussion a little better; I felt left out.

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hum, Yeah... Tyler was just saying how he wished he had a 150mm dropper seat post on the sb100 so it could go a little lower and be more out of the way... the Beti we rode had a 125mm dropper post... the problem for us shorter guys is where the seat is so low already to accommodate our shorter legs, the rear tire comes so close to where our back-side is when the seat is dropped and we're off the back of the bike..

  • @billw_mtb3220
    @billw_mtb3220 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Love these comparison videos with your friend’s comments. Do you make a distinction between technical climbing and climbing efficiency? For examole my sc ht is reasonably efficient climbing, but took a bit of messing around with the rear shock to get good technical climbing traction (ended up going with a dvo)

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, there's not a lot of really techy climbs in my area... some loose traction sections but that's more a point of momentum/speed and good tires. Mostly I'm talking about efficiency. Good point Bill, thx!

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, after spedings an entire week on the 100 it's safe to say that it's the replacement bike for the 4.5 and Yeti will be coming out with the SB130 in the next few weeks... I filmed this video over a month ago before I knew about the sb130

  • @jaykan1002
    @jaykan1002 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was just gonna ask you about SB100 vs SB4.5/SB120(?) for 2019 in the other video. Glad I waited lol This video is perfection lol. I'll probably wait for the SB"120" too.Hopefully it's 120R/140F or 150 in LR

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The replacement for the 4.5 is the sb100... there's a new bike called the sb130. 130mm rear, 150mm front

    • @jaykan1002
      @jaykan1002 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did they confirm the sb130 or are you leaking us some info? *Evil smile*. I feel like the sb100 is more of a replacement for ASR, and the 4.5 will get upsized to a 120 or even 130mm rear to have better product differential. Now that I think about it... 130mm makes more sense for their product line. But as you have realized in this video/2 weeks, the modern geometry really does make the shocks ride like a longer travel bike. So I personally feel 120/140 would've been perfect. Each to their own though.
      Mock product line for 29er?
      XC+ - SB100
      Trail - SB130 (130R/150F)... although I still would've preferred a 120r/140f w/150LR
      Enduro - SB150

    • @JukasZor
      @JukasZor 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's definitely a thing that's coming. Yeti even leaked it on their own website last night, but have since taken it down.

    • @jaykan1002
      @jaykan1002 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      that explains why they have a random empty space on their bike page haha. If it's the 130, ill probably go sb100 then

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      haha, no I don't think I'm leaking anything haha it's out there.. should be official on the 10th of Sept. If it's a 120/140 bike you're after, go check out my Pivot Trail 429 video... I've been loving that bike. Rode it this morning!

    If you are worried about a water bottle just get a bottle with a long strap that you can put around your neck. Kinda like how a women carries her purse. I like this better because when I am riding really hard I do not want my water bottle to fly out and get lost. When I had a water bottle cage, every time I would pop off of something I would lose my bottle.
