I love how two people who are non-native speakers wield the English language in conversation in a way a native speaker would not. They bring so many beautiful facets of speech to light. Two humble, masterful people!
let me laugh about this bjork not being prentious and arrogant when she was young?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH check how many minuites we have to wait and hear her divagations until Arvo part can talk without interruptions. Also her question are all about her an her thoughts about music, not directed really to arvo part. Sorry but she is a narcisistic self centered person
@@KIWI-un8fs Art is not meant to be treated objectively. Asking Arvo what he does with his art is irrelevant. The magic happens in the eye of the beholder, the audience and their feelings ABOUT the art is what matters, not the art piece itself. Are you angry that you can't be as open and honest as Bjork?
This is one of the most touching & wonderful of interviews. It is so inspiring it makes me feel quite emotional. Bjork is so observant & Arvo is so appreciative. Very special.
I find this interview so fascinating because whilst the putative subject is music composition, it touches upon what I believe to be a fundamental question for sentient beings: "what can be forgiven?"
Bjork - one of my favourite musicians EVER. I've been inspired many times when painting my mountain and landscape expressive mixed media work for sure - it's the 'space' in her fabulous music and great to see her in conversation her with someone else she her self admires. Brilliant!

The quality of "space" in Part's music discussed in the interview provides a way of grasping the void between music and the listener as well as how music should reflect self and respect the other. Is this not a form of charity, a love that fortifies another in the secrecy of their own being, their own integrity, their own contemplation of (God),and their own free charity?
Thank you for uploading this video. I am really interested in finding out where does it come from. Is it from a complete documentary or what? And if it is so, what is the name of that documentary. Thanks again.

You summed it up beautifully. I could easily watch an hour of these two just talking about music.
I love your comment. it's true.
What a nice conversation - no pretense, no arrogance, just two interesting artists talking honestly.

The best thing you can say to an artist is how their work make you feel and Pärt was delighted to hear what Bjork had to say

I love hearing and watching Björk talk. Adorable.
"one line, is my sins... and the other, forgiveness.."
that is an astonishing way to think about ones own music, im amazed
two absolute masters in the same room
May we all ponder on the very last second of this video
SO WEIRD!! Who/what is that???
Very creepy... It ruins the video!
Yes please! What the fuck was that!?
Yes, the the ghost of the chicken man.
Looks like someone trying to commit suicide by way of rubber glove
Bjork and Arvo Part, two of the defining composers of modern music.
medviation lol
"Pinocchio and Leetle Creeket... making pain to other" most charming Bjork moment, I think. (2:48) Arvo can't help but smile broadly.

David Liszewski everything :)
what wonderful beings these two are. it's a priveledge to see and hear them interacting. bjork is the child of the Universe on Earth.
Brilliant composer!
She had him at cricket.

I love Bjork and Arvö Part very much....
Best video on TH-cam
I love Björk. She wants to find the right words at the moment. Very rare nowadays. I mean in these days .

So real are both these people!
Björk is such a beautiful person!
"You can kill people with sound" and "the little cricket is more like.. conforting"... yeah, it ended up being as weird as I imagined.
...but you CAN kill people with sound, that's just science.
Love both.
A transcript of this would be somewhere between James Joyce and Gertrude Stein.
This is beautiful, but I still wonder why she pointed at the watch when she said 500 billion notes...
Maybe she compared music made with structure (watching the clock, minding exact rythms etc) , to music made with pure intuition
wow
Who is this little Elf ?
My two heros
God bless
