ColeBikes has swear hayato have no idea what you’re saying. Lol but I feel he could’ve lifted a bit of the blacks. Just a tad bit. Hahaha but as much as I like to say, the ursa highlight roll off is still a joke compared to what red gives or from the Alexa, heck even the Chinese KINEFINITY nails it :p

Great review! I think one of the biggest under-valued strengths of the G2 is how it renders motion, which of course comes from the much improved readout time. It's not a global shutter technically, but I haven't run into a situation where the rolling shutter was noticeable. To me, this is a big plus!

My tech background allowed me to understand most of it with your explanations, and you really make it interesting even tho it's just a review of a product I'll never use or would have been interested in in the first place.
I've never worked with the G2, but I do use the G1 more or less everyday at my job. It's a true workhorse! In January I took it from Denmark to South Africa for a 10 day shoot, and there wasn't any problems at all, even on extremely hot days. One thing I miss though is the slowmotion capabilities of the G2... And great video :)

I am just starting up with these mini-docs with a friend and noob DLSR's and one of our bigger problems is that people getting interviewed, well, talks like they are getting interviewed. they talk to an interviewer instead of a person or the audience.
Ole Emil Lindkilde did you get an answer on this or come up with a method? I’m starting a mini-doc series myself, and I found that a lot of people were very formal. You have to make it a conversation.
Nice info in there mate, I have been tempted to swap out the FS5 for the G2, having the BMRAW on both my cameras would be good. I love the FS5 set up, shooting prores gives loads of latitude for editing so its not a priority to change out but could happen for a bigger project in the future if colour matching is going to be more time limited

He worked on Avengers Endgame, Tiger King and lots of smaller projects. When I graduate highschool in 2023 I'm going to some sort of film school, hopefully LA Film School.

When you're recording to SSDs, do you just use a regular USB C external SSD? Whenever I try to find any more info online it just shows info about the rear SDI to SSD module. Edit: Typo
the sensor in this camera is custom build for this specific purpose. the 4k and 6k are just available sensors from Sony. the biggest plus on the UMP 2G is the shutter. it is the fastest rolling shutter out there. but you lose cDNG.

That lens setup looks like a Helios-44-2 as a taken lens with the kowa-16h in FMJ rapido and rectilux hcdna as a single focus diopter

What anamorphic adapter do you use? Is that a diopter on the front?
I think with your filming style HDR films would work really we'll! Just an idea as I know an HDR monitor for creation is very expensive.
