for the clove hack, if like me, the idea of a cotton ball in your mouth makes you gag: crush the cloves and brew a strong tea from them. Let it cool and rinse your mouth with it.
Cloves contain a natural anesthetic and they'll numb your mouth and kill the pain.
It also works to fight inflammation. Garlic does that too!
