I have a Dualtron City. I just ordered the City seat for it, then I found out that the Thunder seat is identical. There are different seats for different Dualtron models. If you're going to add a seat to an e-scooter it's a good idea to check the traffic laws in your area. In some jurisdictions (including mine), an electric scooter with a seat and no pedals is classified as a motorcycle. If a cop pulls you over, you can be fined for riding a motorcycle without a license or insurance, and they may even impound your scooter. Scooters are illegal here, even without seats, but it's not enforced unless the rider does something stupid. I stay off of the main roads and stick to park trails and residential streets.
there is zero speed wobble with a seat kit, i have one on my storm. the seat kit is the only sensible way to ride a scooter that pushes over 55 mph (a speed at which a pothole can kill you) you feel much much much more comfortable and safe riding from a seated position. there is also the aspect that one can take much sharper turns being you can and most of the time have a foot to stabilize you by dragging it on the pavement. you also still have the ability to ride standing up, not that you will though once you switch to the seat (especially if you have an accident prior) you will not go back. for me the seat was a way to cut my losses after an accident in which i fell going very slow but even at 8 mph wiping on this thing from a standing position is rough. i have been riding bikes my entire life and never once had an accident so i can safely and confidently say that scooters are extremely dangerous from a standing position. a pothole can be a life changer. the wheels are 11'' for christs sake. but a seat kit changes that dramatically. it was the dualtron seat kit that made me realize that the electric scooter is wayyyy ahead of the electric bike. how many ebikes hit 55mph? none unless they are dirtbikes. majority top out at 28mph like my lectric xp or the scramblers such as the ariel cruises at 35mph+. for that reason though the scooter is a great option for people looking to commute in traffic because it can ultimately keep up with traffic on city roads. the ebike always has to yield to cars. i would definitely put another seat on it though. i opted for the giddy up, its fairly cheap off amazon and large enough to provide me a 220lb 6'2'' man comfortability. a cushiony ride that i was looking for similar to a motorcycle (not much like a traditional bike seat at all) its great too because it has a lever that allows one to simply raise and lower the seat via hydraulics. don't worry about the additional weight either. i have myself the seat and a kryptonite bike lock and i still hit over 55mph. the greatest thing of all regarding the seat though is the front tire spinning out all the time drawing heads. you are constantly chirping from a take off because all of the weight is on the back wheel leaving the front to chirp or spin out which is a cool effect of such. i would not go back, i do not care how the scooter looks, the safety thing is enough for me to ride these things from a seated position., id get one just to have if you don't like it don't use it but i would be suprised if anyone said they were unhappy with the seat. oh and if you do get the seat kit make sure you remove the rubber. don't mount it directly on the rubber . just pull it off. don't worry you can glue it back on.

Yes. I just ordered one & installed it. The only difference is the bottom mounting block On the 2 you just plug & play, no removing of parts needed. AWESOME

I had the seat, used it once and then I sold it. Didn’t like the way it felt (definitely more fun standing). The problem with the seat is, as you said, it makes the scooter look like a mini moped. That said, you’re more likely to get stopped by an officer as they will be expecting a license plate to go with a moped.
Do you any wobble especially during take-offs or stops? I ended up removing my seat due to having a little play towards the bottom. Everything was screwed tight but still had just enough play causing it to wobble back and forth.
There have been a few times when the stem was wobbly but I tightened the bottom and raised and lower the seat and it was fine. If you have constant wobble on take off - I’d say that isn’t normal.
Yes - I have kept the seat on my Thunder and will not likely take it off. You can not use the tow handle at the same time as the seat. You either have the tow handle installed or the seat.

@@jasontomica8938 I wouldn't say the seat is super comfortable for long rides but it is still better than standing for 1-2hr 30 mile ride. It's really personal preference - but if you want your scooter to mimic a sit down motor scooter like vespa, etc. the seat is the way to go.

Saddle design doesn't allow the seat to go back. I had to repl5 the saddle and give up the lever mechanism for comfort , more space and much better weight support
How is it getting it to and from your apartment? Is it a hassle moving a heavy scooter up and down your apartment? Asking because I live in apartment as well in Manhattan and want to get this model.
yes - I leave the seat on all the time. For me I prefer the "mini moped" setup but I do sometimes stand for fun, stretch legs, etc and you don't have to remove the seat to do it.
@@dualtronthundernyc6503 So I bought the seat yesterday it works great but the problem I have is the seat post sometimes moves when you're sitting on it goes back-and-forth maybe it's because of our weight I don't know it's very weird I even bolted it down really tight and it still moves a little bit when you're sitting I back-and-forth the actual post very strange
@@jasontomica8938 I will sometimes have a little movement but tightening the ring tight around the base helps a lot. The movement isn't from looseness in bolting the seat to the base. I will occasionally notice some wiggly but it doesn't bother me.

you are still able to stand up even with the seat on and I often do to stretch on a longer ride.
