Sunil Chhetri is a great human being besides being the best Indian footballer in the modern era...I got acquainted to him briefly when he was staying in the Eliot road mess of Mohunbagan...I was in charge of the football section of Asutosh College,I and some of my college mates approached him to play for our college...He agreed but his only condition was to get him admitted to the college first...he played for us,won us the trophy...but sadly due to his playing commitments could not continue with the studies...I still remember him as a thorough gentleman who inspite of being a top class player refused to be treated specially...hopefully I would meet him someday somewhere again❤❤

The hat-trick he scored included two gifted goals from Kerala Blasters trying to offside trap, only the header goal was outstanding. His fitness is declining. He has clearly overstretched his career that's for sure and bringing rubbish players like Suresh Wangjam, Gurpreet from Bengaluru FC into Indian team doesn't help India to rise in FIFA rankings
@nilotpalmajumder5230 apart from those gifted goals, he has scored 6 goals so far.. He is already 40 and still making difference on the field.. When he wasn't scoring for India his workrate was immense.. That's what makes him a fighter.. A legend of Indian football.. His retirement wasn't delayed at all.. He was breaking records even in the last SAFF cup..

Sunil is more of a mentor now and he should stick to that, no need to play anymore. SAFF championship is not football's benchmark, that's keeping India at bay in football and not being competitive.
